Chapter 9

"Stupid Girl," murmured Gillian as she dragged Ed home. "Ed, hurry up." Ed, who was tired from running all the way from his flat down to the mall to find Gillian, tried his best to keep up with Gillian's pace, who was half running and fast-walking.

The empty room was still shaking when Gillian stormed inside the flat after she forcefully bang opened the door. Like his flat, Ed was shaking from head to toe, refusing to get inside the house until the coast was clear.

Banging open every room's door and calling her name out, no one replied. Their flat was as empty as a haunted house. Gillian didn't give up until she opened the last cabinent in the kitchen and found that no human being was hiding there.

"Ed. She's not here," Gillian said softly to Edison as she placed her arm around Ed to clam him down. "What did he do to deserve this?" she thought. Finally he stopped shaking.

"Where could that Bobo woman be?" She thought.

Tavia walked into the shop. Unlike the other days, Gilian brought Edison to work.

"Hi, Ed. What j'ya doing here? Shouldn't you be with your teacher?" Tavia asked as she skipped over to the counter. " 'fraid that Gill might get a boyfriend here?"

Ed just shook his head and continued to color his paper. Gillian, on the other hand, looked rather annoyed when the word "teacher" was mentioned. "Something happened yesterday, and I still hadn't seen that Bobo woman since then."

"What happened?" Tavia asked.
"Nothing much," Gillian answered.
"So, is that Bobo person officially fired?" Tavia aasked curiously
""Why don't you try it this way," Gillian began. "She has officialy quit her job."

Silence fell across the bakery. Then all of a sudden, Tavia exclaimed, "Oh my god! Then I can play with Eddie everyday!"

Gillian's face brightened ip. "Hey, Tav," Gillian said. "Do you think you can be Ed's new teacher?"

"Do you mean it?" Tavia got even more excited now with her eyes wide open. "Dut I do have a part-time job on every Tuesday and Thursday, you know."

"I can take care of that. You don't need to work full time," Gillian said. "I'll just tell his parents about this. They're looking for a new teacher anyways."

"Lo Po Jei, can I go get some snack down the street?" Ed asked.

"But ... do you know the way back here? Would it be a bit challenging for you?" asked Gillian.

"I know the way by heart," Ed patted his chest. "I walked to get snack there and back here everyday with Tavia jeh jeh. Sometimes all by myself too." Ed told Gillian proudly.

"Wow, my Ed has became a Big Guy now. Doing so many things by himself," Gillian commented. "But, you sure, Ed? I don't want anything happen to you," Gillian asked worriedly.

[Gill's POV]

It had been almost half an hour since I last saw Ed. What was taking him so long? It only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to make a round trip.

Michelle just walked in. "What's wrong, Gill?" she asked. "You look rather pale."

I replied, "Nothing much. Mich, do you think you can help me out for a while here?" Ed's been gone for half an hour. I want to go find gim."

"Sure. Call me if you need more help," Michelle answered.

I started running as soon as I stepped out of my bakery. I don't know why I was so worry about Ed. Didn't I always want something to happen to him so I could finally be single and free again? Gosh, am I falling for Ed?

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Bobo was grabbing onto Ed's right arm. Ed, on the other hand, was trying desperately to escapte. When I got closer and Bobo spotted me, she let go of his arm and began fast walking away from the scene.

[end of POV]

"Why are you avoiding me, Bobo?" Gillian asked as she pulled Bobo's arm to stop her from escaping. "Why aren't you talking to me? Feel guilty for stabbing Ed with a needle on the back of his neck? Seriously, what could a painful needle stabbing help him to regain his memory of the past?"

Bobo turned around, tears wellign up her eyes. Gillian began to feel guilty inside for yelling at her. "What's the matter with you?!"

Bobo began crying. "All I wanted was to have Ed to remember me. Why are you always in my way>!" With that, she was gone.

Gillian's feet were glued to the ground. "Why am I doing this?" she kept on asking herself. "Why?"
