"o ayan. yung pay mo. maraming salamat."
The girl gave him a small smile as she took the bill from his hands.
"No problem, but you shouldnt do that to her you know, she sounds like a great girl.."
Gerald nodded as he sighed and put his wallet back in his back pocket.
"shyeah.. shes a great girl.. but.."
Gerald stopped as he hesitated whether to tell her or not, he took a deep breath as he stopped.
"*heavy sigh* hayaan mo nalang, basta, maraming salamat"
The girl stood up from her spot and placed a quick peck on Gerald's cheek.
"no problem, anything for a friend, so i'll see you tommorow for the whole PRETENDING TO BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND scheme?"
Gerald chuckled lightly and gave her a small smile before leading her to the door, and saying goodbye..
"sure, thanks again. Umm, yeah dont worry, i'll pay you.."
He heaved a sigh as he shut the door, and watched her car drive off from the window.
Yes, he paid that friend of his to PRETEND to be his girlfriend in front of Kim, it was to see if kim would get jealous by his actions.
He went to bed with a heavy heart... and no hope at all.

The next day, Kim was up early. She went to the bathroom and washed her face as she brushed her teeth, she skipped breakfast as she wasn't in the mood to eat at all, when she had finished she went downstairs and greeted her family a good morning as she grabbed a cup of water and took a sip. She thought in her head what she heard Gerald doing on the phone yesterday.. my god, she almost choked.
Lakam: o! kimmy naman! ano nangyari!? okay ka ba!?
Kim gave her sister a fake smile as she nodded her head and quickly placed the cup in the sink as she ran up the stairs before her tears could fall..
Gerald on the other hand was dressed and ready, he was on the way to pick up Vanessa, his "girlfriend" he looked at hiself in the rearview mirror as he cleared his throat.. as he reached her house he felt his phone vibrate.

Gerald smirked as he chucked his phone in the back seat and stepped out of his car to get his "date"
"Vanessa??"
He called out as he walked into her house, her door was open so Gerald thought it was okay for him to walk in.
"wait a second Ge! let me apply my make up!"
Gerald heard her call out from what sounded like her bathroom, Gerald sighed as he looked around her house, it was quite cosy and the pictures of vanessa and her family were quite pleasant, Gerald grinned as he saw a picture of a younger Vanessa and him standing side by side. Vanessa was great friends with Gerald, and before Kim.. they dated, but they both decided it was for the best that they split. Gerald whistled as he saw Vanessa enter the room, he gave her a grin as Vanessa smiled back, Gerald realised he was acting like he was interested in her.. he wiped the stupid smile off his face and cleared his throat.
"shall we go?"
Vanessa nodded.
"We shall."
She replied as she looped her arm through Gerald's and walked into his car. They spoke about how they would act and what they would do.
"Okay, so this Kim girl.. what is she like? and what did she do to deserve this?"
Gerald sighed as he tightened his grip around the steering wheel.
"she didnt do anything to deserve this, kasi in all honesty, she is a fine woman.. a woman i.. *sigh* a woman i loved.."
Vanessa leaned forward from her seat to get a better glance at Gerald's face, she placed her hand on his arm and gave him a small smile.
"its okay Ge, im sure she will come back to you.."
Gerald looked her way and gave her a slight smile before taking one hand off the wheel and placing it on the hand that held his arm..
"thanks for always being there Nessa"
Vanessa smiled her sweet smile before pulling her hand away and asking Gerald on how to act.
"Ge, how do we act.. i mean, we have been a couple before.. so its not hard right?"
Gerald gave her a stern side look before looking away..
"i dont know.. but what i know is we have to act like were real.. we dot have to be all kissy and feely unless Kim is around, okay?"
Vanessa nodded, taking in EVERY word he said.
