Did they just say wedding or was there something wrong with her ears.
She sneaked a peek a Ximen who shrugged in return.
“Umm…Aunty and Uncle.” Xiaoyou started.
“You should call us Pa and Ma now.” Mrs Ximen said with a heart-warming smile as she patted Xiaoyou’s hand gently.
“Yes, Ma and Pa.” Xiaoyou took a deep breathe, “I don’t think Ximen and I are ready for a wedding yet, I mean…”
“Yeah Pa, Ma. There’s no hurry, it’s not like Xiaoyou is going to run away or anything.” Ximen helped Xiaoyou out.
“You two are in a stable relationship and marriage won’t change anything. I’m sure it’ll be no big deal.” Mr Ximen said to the ‘couple’.
“Yeah, it won’t make a difference so what’s the hurry?” Ximen asked back while he gave Xiaoyou’s hand an encouraging squeeze.
“Well, when you’re legally recognised as a couple, everything becomes easier.” Mr Ximen said as a matter of fact.
“If you two are worried about the wedding, then you don’t need to. I have got it all sorted out, it’ll be just one phone call and I’ll make your big day perfect. I promise you.” Mrs Ximen said smiling at her future ‘daughter in law’.
Ximen and Xiaoyou were speechless, what more can they said.
They’ve tried everything to stop Ximen’s parents from marrying them together but nothing has worked.
It looks like the fact that their playboy son has finally decided to settle down has overwhelmed Mrs Ximen so much that she’s desperate to get him married, before he changes his mind.
Xiaoyou knew that she should be feeling scare, this could be the rest of her live that she’s ruining but for some reason she doesn’t feel scared at all that she and Ximen could be a married couple.
And she even felt a hint of happiness…
At that thought, she gently hit to head to try to discourage it.
“Are you ok Xiaoyou? Do you have a headache?” Ximen asked kindly as she noticed Xiaoyou’s ‘head hitting’.
Xiaoyou POV
This is a good excuse to leave before they really start to plan the wedding…although she felt that hint of happiness, but she did have other responsibilities, like her family business in Canada.
“Yeah, I think I might be coming down with a cold. Do you mind taking me home Ximen?” Xiaoyou said as she rubbed her temples to make the act more real.
“Sure!” Ximen said as he stood up and helped Xiaoyou up gently.
“I’m so sorry Aunty and Uncle that I can’t finish this wonderful meal with you.” Xiaoyou said in a respective tone.
“It’s alright, health comes first. Would you like me to call a family doctor for you?” Mrs Ximen asked in her usual kindness.
“No need, I think a good rest will do. Thank you very much for the offer though.” Xiaoyou said as she turned around preparing for her leave.”
She bid goodbye to the elders and went out towards Ximen’s car parked in front of the house.
As soon as the front door of the house closed, Xiaoyou breathed in relief and stopped her act.
She was shocked to see Ximen not surprise, it was as if he knew all the time that she was acting.
“Did you by any chance know that I wasn’t really sick?” Xiaoyou asked carefully.
“Yeah, it was a good act but not good enough to fool me.” Ximen replied as he held the car door open for her.
“Thank you!” Xiaoyou said as she hopped into the car.
Upon arriving at Xiaoyou’s apartment, which really belonged to Ximen, Ximen opened the car door for her in his most gentle man way.
“Please.” Ximen said holding his hand out to Xiaoyou.
Xiaoyou accepted it.
“Thank you.” She said with a sunshine smile.
“No problem, wife.” Ximen joked.
Xiaoyou rolled her eyes, and her smile deepened.
“I’ll see you another time then, hubby.” Was her reply.

Unknown to them, from a distance, two ladies were watching not knowing the joke behind what they were saying.
“Wife and Hubby eh?” Lily said to Lizzie who was almost shaking beside her.
“Are they seriously getting married?” Lizzie asked not wanting to believe this.
“Not if I can help it!” Lily said. “Plan A, tomorrow night.

Sorry just a short chapter, me still studying for exams so can't really write a lot.
