Hearing Xiao You’s scream Anne immediately went to Xiao You’s room thinking that something happened to her. What she found placed a frown on her otherwise pretty face. Xiao You is now lying on her bed, with her phone thrown on the other side of the room.
“Hey, Rainie are you ok?” Anne asked approaching her friend and picking up pillows from the floor, on the way to Xiao You’s bed.
“I’m fine. In fact I’m great! Couldn’t be better!” was the sarcastic reply of Xiao You.
“Oh, so you’re fine then why did I hear you scream? Oh I get it, it could be a shout of jubilation since you are doing great, right?” Anne replied matching her friend’s sarcastic tone.
Xiao You then sat up and looked at her friend. “Ok, fine. I’m not ok and I’m not alright. You happy now?” Xiao You said.
Anne just laughed at her friend. She couldn’t really help herself the picture Xiao You makes just made her laugh. Her friend’s face is all scrunched up and her hair is all over the place, she’s thinking her friend is pouring her frustration on her hair.
“Go ahead laugh!” Xiao You said looking affronted.
“Ok, I’ll stop now. I’m sorry.” Anne said, biting her lips and trying to look serious.
“Come on spill!” Anne exclaimed.
Xiao You stared at her friend trying to decide if she should tell her friend her worries. With a deep breath she started.
“I actually don’t know what’s wrong, but ever since I woke up I just felt something’s not right. But I couldn’t figure out what it was.” Xiao You related.
“You’re phone’s in the other side of the room looking battered because…?” Anne continued.
“I tried calling everybody, to check if they’re ok but I just couldn’t get through to Taipei. I checked on my mom, and everyone’s fine. My dad’s business is doing great, my brother is ok. My mom is doing good as well.”
“But for the past hour now, I couldn’t go through anyone in Taipei. I’m just worried that something might be happening there. I called Ximen but his phone is out of reach, I called Sancai but like Ximen’s it also out of reach. Same with Xiao Qiao, Jing, Meizhou, Lei and Azi. I even tried Ching He and Mimi, but no good. I’m thinking of calling Auntie but I don’t want to bother her unless it’s really necessary. What do you think?” Xiao You wailed.
“Maybe there’s something wrong with the phone lines, don’t worry too much ok. I’m sure everyone fine, or else somebody would have called already.” Anne said trying to pacify her friend.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right. I’m sure they would have called me if anything’s wrong.” Xiao you said, but she still couldn’t shake the worry off.
“Oh, God, let them all be ok.” She softly whispered as she touches her Angel pendant.

(Taipei General Hospital)
Everyone’s plotting was put on a halt when the nurse informed them that Ximen has been transferred to his suite already. One by one they stood up to follow the nurse and let her lead them to Ximen’s room.
Ximen’s mom held on to Sancai’s arm and pulled her aside before going in to Ximen’s room.
“When do we plan it?” She whispered to Sancai.
“Oh, why don’t you go on in now Auntie. I’ll just make a couple of phone calls” Sancai replied taking her phone out from her bag.
With that, Ximen’s mom hugged Sancai and went in the room, taking a deep breath and softly whispering: “I’m sorry son but I just have to do this. I don’t want to see you suffering anymore.”
Sancai then called Jing and Xiao Qiao. After assuring them that Ximen is now ok, she then proceeded to inform them that Auntie wanted to see them and they have something to talk about. This got the two curious, and they immediately wanted to go and meet them. But Sancai opted for them to meet in the morning after glancing at her watch and noticing that it is already late. She knew that once Daomingsi is sure that Ximen is ok, he would then drag her home. So after they have all agreed to meet at the Ximen’s mansion at about 10 tomorrow morning she then proceeded to go inside Ximen’s room.
Sancai gently closed the door so as not to disturb the sleeping Ximen. She then went to where Ximen’s mom is sitting and sat beside her.
“So, how is he?” Sancai asked.
“He’s okay now. The doctor said he’ll be asleep until tomorrow, due to the anesthesia.” Ximen’s mom replied.
“At least he’ll get a good rest for tonight.” Sancai said.
“Is everything ok?” Ximen’s mom asked.
Sancai nodded and looked at Ximen’s mom. “Yes. I told them to just go to your house tomorrow morning at 10, is that ok Auntie?” Sancai softly whispered.
“That’s fine dear. At least there we would be able to talk without the fear of Ximen or his dad over hearing. Do you think I should tell Ximen’s dad?” Ximen’s mom asked.
“It’s up to you Auntie. But I suggest not before we have a concrete plan.” Sancai answered.
“Are you going to tell Azi?” Ximen’s mom again asked.
“I don’t know yet. I really want to help them, and I’m thinking Daomingsi would just tell me to leave them alone. I’m sure he wouldn’t want me to interfere. Maybe I shouldn’t, at least not yet.” Sancai replied.
“I think it would be best if we just keep it to ourselves first.” Ximens mom decided and with that Sancai nodded her agreement.
“Do you think we should call Xiao You?” Ximen’s mom again asked Sancai.
“Maybe not yet. If we call her now, I’m sure she’ll be on the next plane bound for here, and I don’t want that, at least not yet. Not until we have our plans.” Sancai said.
“You mean you have a plan already?” Ximen’s mom asked looking excited.
“Well, not yet but I have an idea. I just need to think more on it.” Sancai said.

Meanwhile on the other side of the room the guys continued their talks.
“So do you have something in mind already Uncle?” Meizhou softly asked.
“Actually, I have an idea or two but I’m not so sure yet.” He replied.
“Lei? Azi?” Meizhou then asked his brothers.
“Well, aside from beating some sense into him I can’t think of any as of the moment, Lei?” Daomingsi said.
“I’m considering a possibility or two but I’m still finding loop holes. Nothing clear yet.” Lei said.
“I think we should all sleep on it tonight. Can we just meet tomorrow? Say around 4 pm at my office?” Ximen’s dad asked.
“I’m ok with that.” Meizhou said
“I’ll be there.” Lei said.
“Count me in.” Daomingsi said.
“I’ll see you all then.” Ximen’s dad said.
Ximen’s dad then nodded thinking that his son is indeed lucky to have such loyal friends. He just hopes that whatever it is that they would plan would work.
“Azi, I think you should take Sancai home already, it’s already getting late.” Ximen’s mom said approaching Azi.
“Ok, Auntie.” Daomingsi replied.
“You boys should go on home too. Just come back tomorrow, Ximen won’t be awake until then anyway.” Ximen’s dad stated.
Lei then nodded towards Meizhou, and stood up waiting for Azi and Sancai. After Sancai has gathered her things, she then gave Ximen’s parents a hug and bid them farewell.
“Ma, I think you should go on home and rest too.” Ximen’s dad said to his wife.
“No, I’ll be more comfortable here with him. He might wake up during the night and I want to be here.” Ximen’s mom replied looking at the sleeping Ximen.
“Ok, but you have to rest too. I’ll just be the one to look on him during the night, why don’t you lie down on the bed in the next room.” And before Ximen’s mom could protest, Ximen’s dad said “Don’t worry, I promise I’ll wake you up if he wakes up anytime during the night.” He said and proceeded to lead her to the next room.
Left with no choice, Ximen’s mom stood up from her seat and let her husband lead her to the next room. Contrary to what she thought of not being able to rest with all the things in her mind, she slowly drifted off to sleep thinking about Ximen and Xiao You.

(DAOMING MANSION)
Daomingsi was surprised to find his wife up and dressed at 7:30 in the morning. She usually gets up at around 8 before he leaves for work, but today she got up ahead of him and looks like she has somewhere to go to.
“You’re up early. Do you have plans you haven’t mentioned?” Daomingsi asked his wife.
“Oh, I’m thinking of going with you to see Ximen. You’re going to drop by the hospital before going to work right?” Sancai asked.
“Yes. But why do you need to go there this early?” Daomingsi asked Sancai with a frown.
“Well, I have stuff to do later.” Sancai replied avoiding Daomingsi’s inquisitive eyes.
“What stuff?” Daomingsi asked again.
“Just stuff. Don’t ask too many questions ok.” Sancai replied.
“And what about Axu?” Daomingsi questioned.
“What about him?” Sancai said.
“You’re leaving him this early?” Daomingsi said.
“For your information, I have already fed our son. And I’ll be back for him later after I see Ximen.” Sancai said.
“Where are you going anyway?” Daomingsi again asked.
“Why are you so full of questions? Anyway, I’m just going to visit Xiao Qiao and I’m taking Axu with me. And maybe I’ll drop by my parent’s house later.” Sancai said crossing her fingers. She hated lying to Daomingsi but she had to do what she had to do. Promising herself that she would immediately tell him everything as soon as their plan works.
“Ok.” Daomingsi said. He eyed his wife, there is something she is not telling him, he’s thinking. But he’ll let it pass for now.
(LING MANSION)
“Honey, are you going to see Ximen today?” Xiao Qiao asked Meizhou.
“Yes, I’ll probably drop by the hospital first before I go the the office.” Meizhou answered while continuing with his shaving.
“Can I go with you? I want to see Ximen too.” Xiao Qiao asked, handing Meizhou a towel.
“Sure, but don’t you think you’re a bit early? You could drop by a little later you know.” Meizhou said as he hangs the towel he used.
“No, it’s okay. I’d rather go with you now.” She answered trailing after her husband who left the bathroom to continue dressing in their bedroom.
“Would you like to meet for lunch later?” Meizhou asked, looking up from fixing his tie.
“Here, let me help you with that.” Xiao Qiao said brushing Meizhou’s hands aside and fixing his tie.
“So, would you like to meet up for lunch?” Meizhou asked again, thinking that Xiao Qiao has momentarily forgotten his question.
“Uhm, no I can’t. I’m planning to go to Sanca’s house after I visit Ximen. I haven’t visited Axu lately and I want to check on him. ” Xiao Qiao quickly said.
“Haven’t visited Axu? Didn’t you and Jing just go there the other day?” Meizhou asked looking puzzled at his wife’s comments.
“Oh. I mean maybe Jian Lee would want to see his cousin. Yes, right I’ll take Jian Lee to see his cousin.” Xiao Qiao said trying to amend her slip.
“Oh, ok. Are you bringing him to the hospital too?” Meizhou asked again. He is really getting puzzled with his wife this morning, she seem to be acting strange.
“No, I’ll probably have her nanny and the driver pick me up from the hospital later on. I don’t think it would be wise to bring him to the hospital. You know there are a lot of sick people there and I don’t want him exposed to that.” Xiao Qiao said.
“Ok.” was all Meizhou could say frowning at his wife.
“Are you ok honey?” Meizhou asked.
“Of course! Why would you think something’s wrong with me?” Xiao Qiao exclaimed.
“I don’t know you’re just acting kind’a strange.” Meizhou said.
“Well, that’s because you’re asking too many questions.” Xiao Qiao defended. She actually doesn’t know yet what it is they’ll be planning later on at the Ximen mansion. Sancai only mentioned about helping Xiao You and Ximen out, and Auntie Ximen wanted to talk to them. But the way Sancai sounded lastnight it seems really serious, and anyway Sancai asked her not to say anything to Meizhou. Much as she hates not telling her husband things, there is nothing she could do for now.

Ximen woke up around 6 in the morning. He woke up to find his dad hovering on his bedside. He was a bit surprised but not totally in disbelief to find himself back in the hospital. The last thing he remembered was he felt an excruciating pain in his stomach and after that he doesn’t remember anymore. It was his dad who related to him what has happened all according to secretary Xue.
“Sec. Xue said that you complained of a stomach upset and you asked him to get you some food. But even before he could leave your office to do your bidding, you called on to him again and the next thing he knew you have passed out on the floor. He then called for the company ambulance and took you to the hospital himself. He only called me after you arrived at the hospital. And then a few minutes after I arrived, Daomingsi, Lei and Meizhou arrived apparently he called them as well.” His dad explained.
“Er Long, you skipping your meals have got to stop!” Ximen’s mom said.
“The doctor said your body might not be able to take much more of it. You don’t want a full-blown Ulcer do you? Do you want to forever take medicine and constantly go under the knife? You’re too young to suffer from this illness Er Long!” His mom continues to reprimand him.
“You don’t want Xiao You to constantly worry about you do you?” his mom said, knowing that at the mention of Xiao You’s name would get the reaction she wanted.
“Mom, don’t tell Xiao You ok? I don’t want to worry her needlessly.” Ximen said imploring his mom to promise.
“You don’t want her to worry? So you’re making all of us worry instead?” Ximen’s dad said.
“Pa, please. I don’t want to worry anybody because I’m fine. Just don’t tell Xiao You.” Ximen again asked.
“Do you think it’s right not to let her know? She cares about you son, so it’s just right for her to know about your condition.” Ximen’s mom said.
“I know that mom, that’s why we shouldn’t give her something to worry about. I’m fine. I promise I’ll take better care of myself, just don’t tell her ok? Please?” Ximen exclaimed.
“Ok. But the moment you skip a meal again, I would personally tell her everything about it.” Ximens mom said.
“Thanks ma.” Ximen said.

Jing is likewise on her way to visit Ximen in the hospital, she has asked Lei to pick her up on his way to Taipei General. Unknowingly they all would meet at the hospital earlier than they have planned.
Ximen’s mom was surprised to see Sancai, arrive with Azi. She didn’t think Sancai would come back early in the morning. She herself was also getting ready to leave for the mansion herself, she’s just waiting for Ximen to finish his breakfast.
“Good Morning Auntie, Uncle. Hey Ximen” Daomingsi said.
“Hi, Ximen! How do you feel?” Sancai asked approaching Ximen’s bed.
“I’m ok. Thanks for coming.” Ximen said. He was about to ask about his nephew when the door again opened revealing Meizhou and Xiao Qiao.
“Man, you got us worried yesterday.” Meizhou said as he approached Ximen. “Hey Azi, Sancai! You’re here! I thought you’re meeting with Xiao Qiao later?”
“I’am?” Sancai said looking at Xiao Qiao. “I mean, I’am. Yes, we were supposed to meet later, I was gonna go to your house.”
“To our house? I thought Xiao Qiao is going to your house?” Meizhou said looking at Sancai and his wife.
“Well, there was a change of plan honey, Sancai was supposed to go to our house, but WE have decided to just go to Jings!” Xiao Qiao said.
“Yup, that’s right. We’re going to Jings place later.” Sancai said looking at Xiao Qiao.
Daomingsi observed his wife and Xiao Qiao, it seems that these two are hiding something, and he’s determined to get answers, but even before he could pose a question to his wife the door again opened, and Lei and Jing came in.
“Ximen man, how do you feel?” Lei asked Ximen while nodding at Azi, Meizhou and Auntie and Uncle.
“Hey guys, good morning Auntie!” greeted Jing surprised to see Sancai and Xiao Qiao.
The moment Jing came in Sancai frowned and Xiao Qiao softly whispered, “Oh, no!” This is getting more complicated, they just hope that Jing won’t say anything at least until the guys left.
“Hey, I didn’t know we would meet here. I thought we’ll meet at…” Sancai immediately covered Jings mouth even before she could finish her sentence.
“Yes, seems we didn’t think of meeting here instead. We’ll just go together to YOUR house later Jing.” Xiao Qiao said emphasizing the word your, so that Jing would immediately get her drift.
“Oh, yes. Yes. Of course. We’ll just go together to MY HOUSE later.” Jing said getting Xiao Qiao’s drift.
“Hey, I thought you’re going to Sancai’s?” Lei said looking puzzled at the girl’s strange behavior. And with this statement from Lei, Daomingsi and Meizhou immediately confirmed that the girls are indeed brewing something that they don’t want them to know.
“We were, gonna hang out at the house, but change of plans, we’re going to Jings instead.” Sancai said in a voice that implied that they shouldn’t say anymore.
“Hey, what’s with the third degree? The girls are allowed to go out aren’t they?” Ximen said, he’s been getting really confused by the exchange going on around him. And to avoid further conflict he interrupted before temperatures rise.
“Precisely!” Sancai
“You couldn’t be more right!” Xiao Qiao.
“Exactly” Jing said.
“We’re not saying you couldn’t go out, we just want to know where you’re going.” Meizhou cleared.
“And we said we’re going to Jings!” Sancai said looking at Ximen’s mom asking for help.
“Boys, aren’t you gonna be late for work? Shouldn’t you go ahead!” Ximen’s mom said shooing the guys out of Ximen’s room.
“Don’t worry guys, they’re going to be fine! Go on, go ahead!” Ximen’s dad said.
Daomingsi, Lei and Meizhou just looked at each other shrugging helplessly, they then one by one bid Ximen farewell, and piled out of the room. They then glanced back when they heard Mr. Ximen call for them.
“Don’t forget to see me later on.” Mr. Ximen reminded the guys.
The girls immediately heaved a big sigh after the guys left. They would just need to think of something to tell their husbands and fiancé later on.
“Why do I feel, that you girls are cooking something up and you don’t want your husbands to know?” Ximen said teasing the girls.
“Like them you’re just too suspicious and just too nosy for your own good. Now you mister, care to explain what you have done to yourself?” Sancai said.
