Chapter 20

Moving On

Jae continued his life pretending he never knew Yunho and Tiffany. He continued his normal way of life just being surrounded by friends and books. It’s hard to adjust but that’s the only way he thinks to forget what all had happen. It’s been a month and still he can’t forget everything. He just can’t move on that easily or either forget any of it with just a snap, not because he doesn’t want to, but because it can’t be erased in his memory for it is engraved deeply in both his heart and mind. After all the sufferings and heartache, can he just go on with his usual life that easily? It’s been a part of Jae’s life cycle to go to a park just five blocks away from his school. He always feels that this is really what is needed for him, some peace of mind. It’s not because he is required to go there, but there’s a feeling that’s urging him to be there. The cold breeze of the wind that’s brushing through his skin just gives him the calmness and peace he just terribly needed. He then remembered his mom who called just a few days back.

Flashback:

Jae instantly thought of calling his mom who is in abroad. He then pushed some numbers and it rang. He misses his mom. After all the stress, he felt like he needs some caring advice and a tight hug of a mom.

“Umma~ how are you? I miss you so much.”

“I’m fine Jae. How about you?”

“I’m also fine.” Jae could only say. He misses his mom yet he doesn’t want to open up.

“I can sense there’s something wrong. You wouldn’t call if there’s no reason.”

“Of course not!” Jae lyingly defended.

“I’ll not force you to tell me what’s going on, because soon I will know it.”

“Huh?” Jae got curious and incredulously asked, “What are you talking about?”

“Me and my husband have decided to petition you so you can stay and live with us here and all together form a family of your wish.” Jae’s umma happily announced.

“Huh? I’m not ready yet. You know I don’t like your second husband.”

“I know, but this is for your own good, for your own future. All things can be learned and you can learn to love your step-dad and your younger sister. But I’ll give you enough time to think. I’ll not rush you. But you need to be here. I order you.” And Jae’s mom hung up.

“What the hell? I called her because I need a mom. But it ended like this? I need to go? My God! Why now?” Jae’s still in disbelief and couldn’t even shrug a word. “I guess I have to but I need to fix a lot of things. But where will I start first?”

The next day at school, Jae continued his agenda. He thought of bumping Yunho. But why?

Yah~ I know this is really a short one. I mean, really a short one, really shorter than my usual. Anyways, I just intended on doing this because I thought that maybe you get boring if I make a super long chapter. So I made like an experiment. But, I still hope you like this chapter. :D
