Chapter 22

Konayuki (Powdered Snow)

It’s just another typical day for all the students in Jae’s school since it’s already dismissal time and people tend to do their own thing. Others may be seen walking around the campus hanging out with their loved ones and friends. Some are either in a geek mode trying to discover the undiscovered while some are just sitting on a bench and feeling the soft breeze of the wind trying as much as possible to forget all their struggles. They all have their own thing yet those kinds of sight are just- your-typical-sight in an ordinary school life like Jae’s, but not for him. He’s soon gonna undergo the audition, an audition of his life. Along in the line with the other hoping students who wishes to be a part of the whole play, you can gradually say that Jae’s terribly nervous to death as it can be seen through his actions. One of his mannerisms is that he can’t gradually control the manner of him touching his face, his biting of his nails and his unstoppable fiddling on his hem shirt. His hands are as cold as ice which can’t also stop from sweating. He’s feeling butterflies that are about to come out from his stomach. Just not your ordinary signs of nervousness but he differs from anybody when it comes to this, he should be placing a coin inside his sock, particularly on the left side especially when it’s his turn for the audition. Until now, he himself doesn’t even know the reason of that placing thing but for sure he only knows one thing, that certain lucky coin is gonna bring him the success that he needs. As a matter of fact, he just used it for the second time. The first time is when he joined a declamation contest and he used that coin. Surprisingly, he won. Well maybe it’s not surprising, for it’s really a part of faith and that he’s really good. Or maybe that coin thing was just stocked up on his mind and that it brings him luck that’s why he thought it gives him luck. Who knows if this was true since it’s just the second time he’s gonna use it. Oh well, why the hell battle over it?!

In no time, without realization and further notice, it was already Jae’s turn. “How time flies? It’s my turn already~” Jae sighly thought. He then breathed deeply. “Hwaiting!”

“Good luck~” Yunho tapped him.

Jae’s eyes widened in shock and curiosity. “Oh~~” was the only word that came out from his mouth. His words were blocked, even was his thoughts. He has a lot to say, but it just won’t come out. It’s their audition time, so there are no chances of talking. As Jae noticed, Yunho was in all smiles. “How come? He also auditioned?” was the only thought inside his head. But it was changed when the judges called for his name.

As soon as he entered, guess what, the judges turned to be the student government and Jae doesn’t know if he’d call it a bad luck since Tiffany if one of the judges. The judges immediately had an eye-to-eye-contact and murmured over him. Yet why?

The past came back on Jae’s head, but he still focused for his main purpose, the audition. “Hello! I’m Jae! Nice to meet all of you.” He still tried to greet properly even though in frustration. At the corner of his eye, he spotted Yunho gladly watching him from the audience. His heart skipped a bit.

“Oh shit Yunho’s here! Why the hell is he here?! How can I now concentrate now that the both of them are here?! My God! Help me!” Jae annoyingly thought. His thoughts were turned-over when one of the judges called for his attention.

It’s really an awkward moment for the three but they still managed to proceed smoothly and conveniently even though it’s hard and difficult.

“So, as you can see, Tiffany is here. But we hope we can continue everything smoothly because first of all, we don’t want to tackle any of your personal things here so we do hope in proceeding to the main point. First of all, the three of us especially Tiffany never thought or either even crossed our minds that you’ll enter this audition. Well, please don’t think the wrong way. We do believe in your abilities but you know, you can’t blame us to get shock that you’ll ever have time or either thought of auditioning here.” One from the student government said.

“But I still hope everything will go fine right? And I hoped for this audition.” Jae broke the topic.

“Oh sorry, anyways, let’s proceed. We all know that you naturally posses a questioning feminine look and due to that, when you first stepped your foot on that stage, the three of us had immediately had the same instinct and idea that it’s you that we need for the main role. But of course, looks are not the only ones being judged here, it’s also the abilities and the talents. Do you really like to enter this audition?”

Silence filled the room.

“Yes, of course. I really want to enter this audition. I want to start gaining memories.” He cleared his voice. “And of course I do have a talent.”

“So what is it?” Tiffany chokingly asked.

“I’ll sing.” Jae stated.

A/N: Just imagine Jae singing. You know how his voice works. Such a goddess^^

Everyone listened attentively, including the ones on the backstage and especially Yunho and Tiffany. They never knew Jae sings really well.

“I never thought you sing.” Tiffany just uttered who has been mesmerized by his voice.

“Just compliment him at the back stage. Haha! There’s a lot to follow!” The other teased.

“Yeah! Whatever! Just stop it!” Tiffany annoyingly replied.

“Oh yeah~ we’ll just give you a letter if you passed or not. Thanks!” The other replied.

And they called for the next one.

Yunho immediately followed Jae who instantly exited right away. He tried to follow him.

“Jae!” Yunho just shouted in the corridor to call Jae’s attention.

Jae’s gaze was caught by his. And again, Jae’s heart skipped a bit. “Yes?” He turned his back and tried to ask.

“You sing well.” Yunho started.

“Thanks.” Jae could only say. And again, there’s this awkward moment.

“You auditioned?” Jae tried to ask, hoping for a positive answer.

“Uhm~ yeah.”

A sight of relief followed Jae.

“Oh~ well then, good luck for the both of us! I gotta go now.” And Jae turned his back. “That’s just it?” Jae frustratingly thought. He’s waiting for a shout on his name.

“Will I just let this end up like this?” Yunho frustratingly thought. “How about I’d ask him out? Good idea!” He thought then shouted again for Jae’s name who’s just a few inches away.

“Jae! Do you have a free time later?” Yunho gathered all his courage.

“Yah~ I guess. Why?” Jae nervously asked even though he knows why.

“Well, if you know what I mean…” Yunho blushingly replied.

“Oh~ Okay. See you later.”

And they bade goodbye.

Oh yeah! Another chappie! Yes! But thank God I’m fine already. Just last week until this week, I had dengue. :(( But I’m fine now so I made an update! Hope you liked it! ^^ Anyways, I got the title of this chapter because I was LSS (Last Song Syndrome) with the song. LOL :D I was about to use that title for the play chapter, but I just feel like using it now^^ Comments! :)
