“Who cares if I’m crying? And… and why are you smirking? You’re making fun of me?” Jae asked in total disbelief.
“Of course not! I just feel like smiley.”
“Aish! You’re so heartless! You even bother to smile even if I’m in this kind of state? Aish! No doubt you and Tiffany are really cousins!”
“Why is Tiffany being drawn in this conversation?”
“She just broke up with me. And I don’t know why! I’m so damn hurt!”
“Tiffany?”
“Yah! Tiffany! As in T-I-F-F-A-N-Y! You’re cousin! Understand? Aish! I feel so hopeless. I can’t imagine the words she just told me. I didn’t expect her to say it.”
“Want a drink?”
“A drink? Yeah~ Okay. I really need it. Wait~ unless you treat me!”
“Okay fine! My treat!” Yunho promised. “Can this guy get any cuter?” Yunho smirkingly thought to himself.
Flashback:
Tiffany’s inside her room and doing some projects, typing then experimenting and stuff, while Yunho on the other hand is just watching TV and doing nothing.
“Tiffany sshi! Talk to me! I need somebody to talk to!” Yunho declared.
“Oppa? What do you want? I’m busy with my projects! Can’t you see? Bug me later when I’m done. I don’t have a space for your small talk.”
“You’re so mean. I hate you.”
“Aish! Could you please stop it? I really need to finish this! I’m so not halfway done. I’m already cramming! Uhm, unless you help me?”
“Help? No way!”
“Okay~ no talkie-talkie.”
“You wouldn’t talk to me even if it’s about your Jaejoong sshi?”
“You really know how to attract my attention to the fullest. You never changed a single bit.”
“Of course.”
“So what about Jaejoong?”
“I want to be close to him, as in not only close but you know, super close.”
“And why the hell?”
“It’s none of your business.”
“Of course it is. He’s my Jae remember?”
“I just feel like being close with him. Can’t I?”
“Of course you can! Don’t ask my permission. It’s just fine. You’re a guy so I don’t need to worry on anything, unless your…~”
“Oh shut up! Of course I’m not! You know my type right?”
“Oh yeah~”
“I really want to be close to him but you know I’m getting shy. I don’t know! Aish!”
“Shy? Are you kidding?” Tiffany suddenly laughed. “I never thought that the word ‘shy’ is in your thoughts or in your vocabulary. I never saw you being shy to anyone. You’re so friendly and approachable. How come?”
“Stop laughing! Nothing’s funny yah know?! Well, you know, me too. I don’t know. I just get shy when it comes to him. Is that a bad thing?”
“I guess it’s not.”
“So will you help me with him?”
“Ooh! Your favors are like threats to me.”
“Why?”
“Well, you know, I really find that Jae is really pretty. I mean he has that feminine look. And God! He has that incredibly small waist, fair porcelain skin, big dark eyes, sharp nose and luscious red lips. Unimaginable for a guy, but he has all those. I find him prettier than me, kinda ridiculous to think. It’s a threat because I’m afraid one day you’ll fall for him. He’s easy to fall for. And because you like to know him more and to be close to him more, you’ll get blind by his inside and out beauty. Oh no no no! That can’t happen! We made a promise.”
“Promise?”
“We promised that we will be forever, a love that will last forever.”
“But what if one day you’ll find out it can’t be a love that you thought would last forever? What if the day will come you’ll find yourself not attractive with him anymore? What if he finds you not lovable anymore? Can you still call it a love that lasts forever?”
“Aish! So many if’s! Of course that won’t happen! We’re attracted with each other. We love each other. And why can’t I not get attracted to him? Come on!”
“Everything has its end. I tell you.”
“Oh yeah whatever!”
“Okay, let’s do this. Let’s have a bet.”
“Bet? I have no time for those things.”
“I just asked you a bet for this time. This will be the first and last.”
“Okay, okay. What is it? Make sure I can handle that!” Tiffany warned.
“Break-up with him.”
“What? Are you insane? No way! It can’t be! You’re totally out of your mind! Aish! Really insane!”
“I told you everything has its end.”
“But not us! Understand?”
“Just listen with this bet. It will be really helpful especially on your part.”
“How can a bet be helpful with times like this?” Tiffany arguingly asked.
“Calm down. Just listen. Here’s my plan.”
“Wait!”
“Ssshh! Listen now! Just break up with him for a month. After that, you can get him back. For sure he can’t replace you that fast right? I’m confident with this deal, so are you in?”
“BREAK-UP? Are you hearing what are you saying? You’re gonna break our hearts! Even though you have a point that he can’t replace me that fast, the fact that the pain I’ll be leaving in his heart will stay forever. And, I can’t really do it.”
“Well, you know, that’s not yet the whole plan.”
“So what are your other ridiculous thoughts to talk about?”
“I’ve been thinking this since when I first saw Jae. You already told me his incredibly feminine features that a guy won’t possibly have a while ago. Aren’t you thinking or didn’t it cross your mind if he’s straight or not? I mean, maybe in physical it’s like he’s manly, but deep inside he’s… you know what I mean.”
“Yah! What are you talking about? I won’t listen to you now!”
“I know you thought of that before, aren’t you?”
“Okay! Of course I thought of it! But I’m pretty sure that he’s a straight guy, straight as an A. Yeah~ he’s really straight! And I’ll stick with that!”
“It already came from your mouth that you’re only PRETTY sure, meaning not fully 100%.”
“Well, aish! Yeah, some kinda like that. Happy now?”
“You know, I really have a very wonderful idea.”
“And what is it?”
“Within your one month break period, I’ll test if he’s a straight guy.”
“And how will you do it? I think this is gonna be really interesting and exciting. I’m like feeling of giving it a try.”
“Okay, here. Listen carefully. I’ll try to be really close to him, until he became comfortable to me, until he can trust me, until he can rely anything to me.”
“Within a month?”
“Of course! That’s our time span! Unless you want to me it like two months, a three, four… forever? Haha!”
“Oh shut up! Unless you don’t want me to take this deal?”
“Oh I’m sorry.”
“So what about that close thing? What will happen next?”
“I’ll try to court him, if we get into an intimate relationship, good luck Tiffany! I don’t know what to think next!”
“Yah! Wait! Isn’t that too much? I mean, a relationship between you and Jae? You’re getting overboard. I’m starting to think that you’re the gay one.”
“Of course I’m not! I’m just trying to help you. Okay, I’ll not do that, unless you can think of another plan on testing Jae’s real identity.”
“Is that what you call a help?”
“So did you think of other plans except courting?”
“Okay! Let’s just proceed. I can’t think of anything.”
“Yeah! Isn’t that great? I’m such a caring cousin.^^”
“Wait! Okay, I’ll let that plan of yours, the relationship thingy. But there are limitations.”
“Limitations?”
“Of course!”
“But, during those times, you don’t own him anymore!”
“Excuse me! So you really want to kiss him? And FYI, it’s just part of the bet.”
“Okay! Tell it now!”
“NO KISSING.”
“I’m sorry. I beg to disagree.”
“Disagree? I’m starting to think again if you’re a gay or not.”
“That’s part of the bet, the kiss.”
“But why can a kiss be a part of the bet?”
“Look, if I kiss him and he gives in, smell something fishy already.”
“You really have a great point. You really know every corners of everything. It’s like you studied it for a long time. Anyways, please don’t make it too passionate.”
“We’ll see.” Yunho smirked.
“Oh I just hate you! Why won’t you follow me?”
“Just trust me. Everything’s gonna be okay. Everything’s under my control.”
“So when will you start? I’m starting to get freaked out and frightened at the same time.”
“Not only you, but us! You’re also a part of this bet! Don’t worry! I’ll always update you on everything’s happening.”
“Just make sure!”
“Uhm, a good start will be tomorrow! Monday! Isn’t that great?”
“Huh? That fast? And how can a break-up be that great?”
“Of course! Break-up is such a sad thing but it’s also for your own good. The early to start, the early to see fast results! I don’t like waiting. And it’s also for you to know if Jae is worth loving. Remember Tiffany! Put and keep this in mind. Jae shouldn’t know this. This bet should only be between the two of us. Understand?”
“Yes~ I understand.”
“Good.”
“Uhm… Can I back out?”
“We’re not yet starting and you already want to back-out? Well, I’m sorry to say but you can’t.”
“Aish! If everything goes wrong, I’ll curse you!”
“Just trust me okay?”
End of Flashback
“Am I that bad? Am I that unworthy to suffer all this pain? Why is my life getting miserable every time?”
Yunho smirked to himself. “This is so gonna work.” He thought.
“Everything comes to an end. You know, everything has its own reason why it is happening. Fate doesn’t dictate us. It’s us who makes our own fate. God’s giving us problems like this not because he wants us to suffer, but it’s an obstacle that we need to face in order for us to be stronger in facing a new chapter of our life. Who knows, someone better will come your way. It’s not yet the end Jae.”
“You make me realize many things.”
“Really?”
Jae didn’t respond anymore. He drank a lot, causing him to get unconscious. He slept on the table. It just proves how stressed and sad and miserable he is. Poor him. He never thought that it’s all just a bet, a bet that can maybe change his whole life, a bet that can maybe ruin or love his life more. Not even regretting a piece of it.
