“I’ll miss you.” the young girl cried as she hugged onto the body of her boyfriend, unwilling to let go. Questions began to flood her mind, what if he decided to cheat on her? What if he decided to dump her? No–she would never let that happen. No one was allowed to dump Kate Tsui without permission.

“Kate, I’m only gone for a week.” Kenneth Ma sighed, trying his best to pry his ‘girlfriend’ off of him. If he knew how fake and demanding she really was, he would’ve never went out with her. To think of it, he didn’t go out with her for the personality, it was more of how hot and curvaceous her body looked that day. Now, he truly regretted it. “Kate, let go. It’s time for me to check in.”

“Kenny, I don’t want you to go. How about you cancel this trip?” she asked in a sugary voice. Kenneth felt sick to the stomach and if he didn’t break it off with her soon, he’s going to die due to the amount of sugar Kate’s feeding him. “I mean–wouldn’t you rather go on a trip with me? You know, maybe we could...” Kate trailed off, playing with the collar of his shirt. It was obvious she was trying to seduce him.

“Baby, I don’t want you to waste your money, plus–this ticket is free and they’re providing the accommodations as well as the food. Free things don’t come around like this. Hey! Look isn’t that Louis Koo???” Kenneth asked in a fake, cheery voice. At the mention of her idol’s name, Kate immediately let go of Kenneth and spun around, searching high and low for her idol.

“Where?? Where??”

Taking the chance, Kenneth ran off before Kate could say ‘Louis Koo’. In the background, Kenneth could hear Kate screaming for him. Covering his ears, he pretended not to hear anything. He made a note to himself to break it off with her as soon as he got back.

“Check in please.”

“HURRY ELLA! I CAN’T WAIT TO GET ON THE PLANE!” Bernice Liu hollered, running towards the line of people that was waiting to check-in. “IT’S BEEN AWHILE SINCE I’VE BEEN ON ONE!”

Ella felt her face flushed as everyone started giving her odd stares. It was normal for people to do this whenever she was with Bernice. Bernice could not control that loud mouth of hers. No matter how many times Ella had told Bernice to quiet down and to not disturb the public, Bernice would always shrug it off. Bernice had always been the loud, outgoing and fun girl who was never afraid of taking chances. Ella was a different story, she was labeled the quiet and shy girl among their group of friends. Ella had find it quite funny that they were best friends even though their personality was the total opposite.

“Bernice–everyone is staring. Don’t talk to so loud, I could hear you fine.” Ella whispered into Bernice’s ear.

Bernice sighed, “I’ll try, Ella, but my mouth just has a mind of its own. You know, it likes to talk and if I don’t talk...it feels weird.” Bernice explained, her face scrunched up like a wrinkled up piece of paper.

“Anyways! I’m so excited!!!! SUMMER VACATION AWAY FROM OUR PARENTS!! WOOHOO!” Bernice shouted pumping her fist into the air with a wide smile on her face.

Ella could feel stares coming their way, but there was nothing she could do. Silently, she shook her head at Bernice’s actions. A giggle managed to escape her lips.

“I wonder what’s taking her so long...” Bosco Wong muttered to himself as he checked his watch. She had been in the ladies’ room for almost 10 minutes and he was getting nervous as the seconds go by. “Leila Tong, Leila Tong...what are you doing in there?”

“Bosco?” Bosco jumped up in surprised to the sound of his name. Turning around, he saw Leila standing in front of him. In her hand was a cup of black coffee which she had brought from the airport's Starbucks–she was frowning, all right.

“What are you doing here? You’re supposed to check in!” Leila yelled, glaring daggers at Bosco. If only looks could kill, Bosco would’ve been dead by now.

“Oh, haha..I thought you were still in the ladies’ room.” Bosco laughed heartily, scratching the back of his head whilst giving Leila a cheeky smile.

“I got out of there 10 minutes ago.” Leila stated, her face was all scrunched up and it wasn't pleasing to look at.

Bosco laughed nervously, “Haha, didn’t you say you wanted to check in? Let’s go do that now!” Bosco suggested before Leila could utter out another word. He didn’t like it when she got angry. It can take 5 seconds to piss of Leila Tong, but it can take you up to weeks just to calm her down and make her forget.

Bosco let out a sigh of relief when he saw that Leila had calmed down.

Sure–she was demanding, bossy, and sometimes, she could care less about others’ feelings, but he knew she was just like any other girl, deep down. Indeed, Bosco was deeply attracted to her.

“Okay, let’s go now!” Ron Ng cried as he held tightly onto the plane tickets. “I still can’t believe we just won two tickets to the Bahamas.” he muttered in disbelief. Realizing that he was talking to himself, Ron turned to his side just to see if Tavia was there. Nope–she was off to who-knows-what-place again. Groaning, he looked at the surrounding to catch a sight of Tavia. Sadly, he couldn’t see her anywhere as he began to panic. As much as he liked to believe that Tavia was safe–he couldn’t. He had known her since they were babies–to simply put it, she’s always doing stupid things that would get her into trouble.

“Ron! Ron! RON NG!” her voice echoed among the sea of people that was lining up to check in for the flight.

“RON! Wait for meee~~” Tavia repeated, waving her hands frantically for his attention.

Ron excused himself until he got in front of Tavia. She was smiling as if nothing had happened and here, he was, looking as if he had just lost the most dearest thing in his life. His handsome features darkened and Tavia immediately wiped the smile off of her face.

“...Ron?” questioned Tavia, looking at him with a perplexed expression.

“Didn’t I tell you to stay by my side???” Surprisingly, his voice remained calm.

Tavia smiled, “Sorry! Ronnie~~don’t be mad!!!” Tavia could tell that Ron was trying his best not to smile–taking the advantage, she clung onto his arm and gave him the ‘puppy eyes’–which she knew, Ron could never resist.

“SMILE! I know you want to smile!” Tavia laughed, using her two index fingers, she stretched the corner of his lips into a smile. Finally, unable to control the laughter that he was resisting, Ron laughed.

“Okay, fine!” he groaned. “You always win! That’s just not fair.”

“Who says I’m just too cute and TOO irresistible?” Tavia teased, sticking her tongue out at him.

“Aren’t you getting a little conceited!!” Ron joked, pinching Tavia’s cheeks.

Letting out a yelp, Tavia slapped Ron playfully as she rubbed her cheeks, “Guess who I learned it from?”

“Who?”

“YOU!”

“HEY!”

Tavia chuckled, “Can we go check in now? I promise I won’t leave your side!”

“Good–I don’t want you to get lost.”

“I’m not that stupid, you know?”

“I’m sure.” he laughed.

“That’s not funny, RON!”

. . . . . . . . .

“I’ve never been to the Bahamas. I’m really excited.” Linda Chung exclaimed gleefully, looking directly at Raymond Lam–in which he seems to be avoiding her. “Well–aren’t you excited?” she tried again. The whole ride to the airport, he had only given her one word answers. Linda concluded that he was in a bad mood today.

“What time is the flight?” Raymond asked in a monotone, avoiding Linda’s eyes.

Smiling, she replied. “The flight doesn’t take off ‘til 1:00. We still have about 20 minutes left.”

Raymond nodded as he once again–stared off into space.

Linda sighed–she knew he didn’t like to talk nor show his emotions, but she wished he could at least act as if he was happy to go on this trip–with her.

“So..umm..” she began, half hoping he would say something just to kill the tensions in the air. Linda studied him–it had been a while since she had seen him. Linda Chung had just came back from the states 2 weeks ago. During those two weeks, she had stayed over Raymond’s house since their parents were friends. However, their conversations only lasted no longer than 5 minutes. Shockingly, just a week ago, she had received a letter along with Raymond that they had won a trip to the Bahamas. Linda had persuaded him countless times to come along yet he refused. Finally, with the help of Mr and Mrs. Lam–they were able to get Raymond to leave the country.

“Are you still planning to take photography?”

“No–I’ve dropped out of that course.” he replied coldly.

Linda didn’t know whether to be happy or not. Feeling content because he was finally replying to her with a sentence that consists of more than word; however, she was hurt with his tone of voice.

Linda hesitated if she should ask the next question or not.

“Really? Why?” she swallowed the lump in her throat.

Raymond didn’t know how to answer to her question. Should he say he dropped out of it because of her? Because she left to study overseas? Or the fact that whenever he held the camera in his hands, images of her would appear? That was the last thing he was going to say–he wasn’t the kind of person to say how he felt. 3 years ago, he didn’t tell her how he felt–he wasn’t planning to do so 3 years later. That was the past and like what they always say–the past is the past...right? He had learned to stop loving her. So why does it feel like the love he had towards her was slowly coming back?

“Don’t know.” he simply replied.

“Oh...look! It’s time to go–we should hurry.” she suggested after a moment of silence.

Raymond nodded, walking towards the gate.

Linda stared at him solemnly.
