Sniffing her scent, Bernice smiled happily. “I smell good.” she complimented herself in which both Linda and Leila rolled their eyes. Apparently, she was the last one out. The rest were already done showering. Skipping to the front porch, she jumped up and down. For some reason, tonight, she was not at all tired. Bernice wanted to stay up the whole night. As she surveyed the view before her, she suddenly felt that she would miss this place. Bernice was startled when Ella appeared before her. “Elly! You scared me!” she exclaimed, placing a hand over her heart.
Ella chuckled. “Bernice, since when were you ever scared?”
“That’s true.” she smiled, pulling Ella to stand beside her so that she could rest her head on Ella’s shoulder. Her friend giggles in amusement. “I’m going to miss this place.” Ella understood what Bernice meant. She, too, would miss the place.
Snapping her fingers, Bernice grabbed onto Ella’s hand and rushed back inside. “ATTENTION PLEASE!” she clapped her hands together, all eyes were on her. “I’ve decided to have a little campfire out on the beach since today is our last night here!!!” Exchanging glances, they finally nodded their head, agreeing with Bernice’s idea.

Situated around the burning flame, the 9 human bodies squeezed in tighter for the warmth that was emitting from the fire, although, it wasn’t that cold. They watched the flame in silence and listened to the crackling sound off the wood. Staring at the others, Ron decided to break off the silence. It was probably the first time, as a group, they were this quiet.
“Why do I suddenly feel like staying here instead of going home?” he muttered softly.
“I have the same feeling.” Linda nodded her head.
“I remember being so devastated when I knew that we were stuck here.” Bernice laughed it off.
Kenneth added, “I was too and was that how we came to be enemies?” he looked at Bernice who only shrugged her shoulders.
“Now that we’re on this topic, I have a complaint.” Bosco said. “Whenever you guys fought, I would be stuck in the middle.”
“Hey! You just so happen to be there, at the wrong time!” Kenneth defended.
“Oh yeah, now blame my bad luck, huh?” laughed Bosco, rolling his eyes upward.
Raymond reminded, “It was all because of you two, we went on the worthless treasure hunt.”
“Come on, don’t tell me you didn’t take part in eating the rice!” Bernice narrowed her eyes into slits while Raymond stayed silent because he did take part in it, after all.
“I’m actually glad I kind of missed the plane or else I wouldn’t have had met any of you. It was fun while staying here. There were bad times,” Leila thought back of when he secret was exposed. “But in the end, it all works out.” she smiled at Bosco.
“Oh! Tavia, Raymond! You two!” Ella directed the topic to the duo.
Pointing to herself, Tavia asked, “Me?”
“Yes! Remember on the first day, what happened between you two? On the floor?” An eruption of noise was heard as Ella finished her sentence.
“It was an accident! I swear!” Tavia shook her head, waving her hand.
“Was that really it?” Linda joked, smiling; a sign that she was alright with everything between Raymond, Tavia and herself.
Nudging Raymond, Tavia said. “You say something too! It was an accident, right?”
“Yeah Ray, why was she on top of you?” Kenneth smirked.
Glancing at Tavia, Raymond decided to play along, “She was on to me.” Tavia’s jaws dropped at his answer. The others ‘oohed’ and ‘aahed’.
Shaking her head furiously, she said, “That’s not right!”
“Tavy, I never knew you were like that. So desperate for men!” Ron continued to taunt her. She wanted to say something but knew that it was no use so instead, Tavia closed her mouth and turned away.
Finally, Raymond decided to spoke the truth. “It was an accident; she was being...her.”
“Bernice, you owe me a punch!” Ron exclaimed, shifting the topic.
“Why?!” she asked.
“I was enough to bring you back your room when you were drunk yet you repayed me with a black-eye.” he shook his head disapprovingly.
“How am I supposed to know then that you weren’t a rapist?” she reasoned.
Kenneth snorted. “Oh please, who would want to rape you?” Her hand balled into a fist.
“Come on, Ron. She said sorry, it’s been long too.” Linda declared.
“Linda! Talk about yourself!” Bosco pointed an accusing finger at her.
Blinking her eyes, Linda asked. “What did I do?”
“You puked all over me!!!” Bosco stated, his smile was now upside down.
“Did I really?” Linda questioned, Bosco nodded his head. She smiled cheekily. “Sorry about that.”
Adding to the conversation, Ella mumbled. “Just like Kenneth! He puked all over me!” she distorted her face.
Shrugging, Kenneth replied. “Well, I can’t help it!”
Tugging on Leila’s arm, Bosco whispered. “He beat me in arm wrestling.”
“Really?” Leila asked in amusement.
“Oh yeah! Bosco said that you could beat me in arm wrestling, I don’t believe it.” Kenneth spoke with confidence.
Gasping, Leila said. “I can beat you! Really, I can. I’ve beat Bosco before. More than once.”
“No way! Let’s give it a try!” he challenge, crossing his arms.
“Right here? Right now? It’s so sandy here.” Leila stated, looking around.
“Fine, remember out match, Leila Tong.”
Leila smirked, “I will.”
“Geez,” interrupted Bernice. “I thought I was the one that was supposed to be competitive.”
“I got it from you.” declared Leila.
After saying so, the two girl bursted into fits of giggles which was then followed my silence.
Without thinking, Ron said. “I’m going to miss this place and...you guys.” He laughed nervously at his answer, suddenly feeling the hair on his neck standing up.
“Sad to say, but I will too.” Kenneth mumbled.
“We can still hang out when we get back to HK, can’t we?” suggested Tavia.
“Yeah, but by then won’t we all be busy doing our own things?” Bosco asked.
“We’ll make it work!!” Bernice jumped up.
“And we still need to attend your wedding!” Linda teased Bosco and Leila.
“Don’t forget about me! I’m your best man!” Ron added.
“You?” Bosco gave him a scrutinizing look. “I was thinking of Raymond.” he joked. Ron shook his head, sighing. The talk continued on for hours as everyone reminisced about the good and bad times spent during their stay on this island. It was not before long were they found fast asleep. Bosco and Leila cuddled together, sharing their body heat. Tavia had her head on Raymond’s chest while Ron used her legs as a pillow. Linda slept beside Ella whom was sleeping beside Bernice. On the other hand, Kenneth was by himself, his arms and legs sprawled across the sand.
It was their last night together before they head back to where they belong.
