As Heewon tapped her foot against the pavement in front of the ice cream shop, she went over her plan several times in her mind. Everything would hopefully go in order to what she wanted, or else she would have to go back to the drawing board. She glanced down the street and saw that Miyeon was jogging up to her. Heewon looked at her silver Guess wrist watch and smirked. Just on time, she thought.
Heewon turned to face Miyeon and waved happily and Miyeon waved back. “Heewon-ah, it’s nice of you to invite me to have ice cream here. I haven’t been here before, so let’s go inside. I heard that the food here is delicious and that the waiters are guys,” Miyeon exclaimed and then started to pull Heewon’s arm towards the entrance.
Swiftly, Heewon got out of Miyeon’s grip and then pulled back. Miyeon turned around confused and then pointed towards the gelato shop again. “I really want some Heewon-ah. Don’t you see those mouth-watering pictures there! They are like heavenly. Pretty please Heewon?” Miyeon begged with a pout on her lips.
“Miyeon-ah, that’s cute.”
Miyeon turned her head away from Heewon and saw Jaejoong grinning at her pouting face. Miyeon stepped away from the entrance to let other people through and then slightly hid behind Heewon. The memories of the night before where he confessed his feelings made a blush appear on her cheeks. Those moments flashed through Jaejoong’s mind too and he looked at the ground while biting his lip.
Heewon faced back and forth between the two blushing baboons. She rolled her eyes and tried to stop herself from groaning. If her plan didn’t work out, she would seriously strangle someone. She cleared her throat and made Miyeon come out from behind her.
“Well, let’s go in now,” Heewon said and then dragged Miyeon inside. Jaejoong followed closely behind, hoping the plan would go well today.
Today, it was just a simple plan that Heewon had told him. Apparently, today was just so Miyeon could get to know him better. To see what they had in common and what not. So, he didn’t need to be tensed up for anything. It was supposed to, as Heewon said, ‘try and make a more comfortable atmosphere between the two of them so that Miyeon could see what a great guy he was.’
As they were greeted in the shop and then seated themselves. Jaejoong was trying to hold onto hope that this would work. He kept thinking, Heewon is her best friend, she knows her best. Jaejoong peeked at Miyeon as she looked around the shop like a little kid. She was pointing out all the great looking pictures of gelato on the walls to Heewon and she had the essence of being adorable around her. Jaejoong laid his head in his hands and smiled at the excited Miyeon.
Heewon spotted Jaejoong staring at Miyeon and instantly felt annoyed. She had never received those kinds of looks from guys before. She tightened her fist underneath the round red table and tried to stay relaxed. The plan, she repeated in her head. Then, she noticed Miyeon jump out of her seat.
“I can’t take it anymore! I’m going to order like all the gelatos in this store! Who’s with me?” Miyeon stated happily. She ran to the counter and started to look at all the different flavours. Jaejoong followed behind her and started to search enthusiastically beside her. Heewon glared at the two and then stared at the door starting to become impatient. Where was her cousin?
As if on cue, her cousin appeared walking towards the gelato shop. Heewon smirked and then pointed at Miyeon and Jaejoong who’s backs were to them. Her cousin nodded and waited outside patiently to play his part. Heewon turned back and saw Jaejoong and Miyeon carrying huge cups of gelato to their table. Time for the fun to begin.
Miyeon set down a medium sized strawberry gelato in front of Heewon and then sat down. “I didn’t know which one you wanted, but I know you like strawberries so…”
Heewon grinned and then looked at the gelato. It did look super yummy, but she couldn’t focus on ice cream, she had to focus on the plan. She peered down at it again and then quickly took a small bite with the spoon. It felt heavenly in her mouth and the strawberries were just sweet enough. She put the spoon down quickly and turned away from it. I can’t let ice cream distract me from this, she moaned in her head. Evil plans had a weakness too, she supposed.
“You don’t like it Heewon?” Jaejoong questioned, his gelato almost halfway down.
“I ate before I came here. I’ll have some later,” Heewon lied. Jaejoong nodded at her and then turned to Miyeon to start conversation. Miyeon was almost done her large gelato surprisingly. She looked away from it when she noticed Jaejoong and Heewon staring at her. She put the spoon down and folded her hands on her lap.
“It’s just so good,” she whispered and then turned her head away from them looking at the pictures on the walls again. Jaejoong took a napkin and then moved Miyeon’s face gently so that she was looking at him.
“You have something on the side of your lip,” Jaejoong said. Miyeon’s heart was pounding lightly and then just as he was about to wipe off the ice cream, a guy stopped Jaejoong’s hand from reaching Miyeon’s face. All three of them looked up at the guy.
He was tall and had short black hair. He had both his ear pierced and had studs in them. The guy had big eyes, handsome and was young. He was dressed casually, but yet stylish like Jaejoong was. His expression at the moment was scary though. His eyes were like daggers towards Jaejoong. Jaejoong lowered his hand and then pulled it away from the guy. Jaejoong gave him a funny look and then the guy glared at him.
“Who do you think you are to almost lay a finger on my girlfriend?” the guy asked coldly. Jaejoong’s and Miyeon’s eyes widened. Did he just say girlfriend, they both yelled in their heads. Heewon tried to hold her happiness inside of her. Changmin was such a good actor sometimes. Changmin pulled a chair beside Miyeon and then put an arm around her.
“G-g-g-girlfriend?” Jaejoong stuttered.
Miyeon suddenly felt her heartbeat rise and started to panic. What was Changmin doing? She had only met him once at Heewon’s birthday the previous year and now she was suddenly his girlfriend? Miyeon opened her mouth to explain but Changmin pulled her closer to him and then put his lips near her ear.
“Miyeon-ah, I’m sorry. I have to do this. I lied to my friends and now they think I have a girlfriend. Please just bare with it for half an hour or so. They are watching me from the other side of the shop,” Changmin explained quickly into her ear. Jaejoong’s eyes widened at the closeness and he felt like his eyes were going to pop out of their sockets.
Miyeon backed away from Changmin a bit and nodded slightly. If he was in need of help, she couldn’t do anything about it. She had to apologize to Jaejoong later she supposed. Miyeon glanced over to the other side of the shop and indeed, there were some guys looking over at their table and then looking away as soon as she caught them looking. Miyeon sighed and felt her heart sadden. She hoped Jaejoong would forgive her later.
Miyeon put on a little smile and nodded. “Yes, I’m his girlfriend?” Miyeon said choppy. She looked over to Heewon to see what her reaction was. Heewon tried to act surprised too. But inside, she was laughing like a maniac about the situation. Changmin was so convincing. Out of the corner of her eye, Heewon looked at Jaejoong. He seemed so confused and such so it was funny for her to watch.
“That’s right. So, don’t touch her ever again, got it?” Changmin glared and then moved his arm around her waist. Jaejoong snapped out of his confusion, and now pure doubt was on his face.
“Can you prove it?” he said crossing his arms.
Changmin cringed. “Prove it, eh?” He tilted his head to one side and then turned Miyeon’s head a bit sideways. Without warning, he planted a quick peck on her lips. Miyeon stiffened and wanted to push away from him, but he held her waist firmly. Miyeon didn’t dare to face Jaejoong; she couldn’t. To him, she probably looked like some girl who led him on. Ugh, how awful. She licked her lips and then loosened Changmin’s grip on her waist.
“Excuse me, I have to go to the washroom,” she excused herself and then fast-walked to the washroom without lifting her head. She slammed into the door and locked the door once inside. She went in front of the mirror and washed her lips roughly. Sure, Changmin was überly handsome and hot, but she didn’t want the peck. If she saw Jaejoong’s expression, she would have probably ran out of the gelato shop.
She dried her lips with her sweater sleeve and then unlocked the door. She decided she would explain everything later. If he liked her through all that, he had to forgive her for this right? Miyeon opened the door and walked back to the table. But, when she got there, only Changmin and three gelatos were there. Miyeon felt like collapsing; they left, she said quietly in her mind.
Seeing her return, Changmin stood up and bowed in a perfect ninety degree angle. “I apologize for kissing you Miyeon-ah. I didn’t intend to go that far. You can hate me if you want.”
Miyeon’s eyes softened and she made him stand up straight again. He looked upset and regretful, but she shook her head. “It’s not your fault Changmin. Sometimes, people can do silly things and it’s truly alright,” Changmin started to smile at her and then she continued, “and besides, I don’t hate.”
He shook his head at her, “But, I could tell that the guy liked you and I just messed things up for you.”
Miyeon looked out the door and watched as the people passed by the store looking in curiously. Then she turned to Changmin and gave him a pure, hopeful smile, “If he truly liked me and cared for me like that, he would forgive me no matter what.”

I'm sorry to make Changmin the cousin here. *Changmin: at least, i wasn't as bad as Heewon*
Anyways, if any of you are curious, Timeout Gelato is Yoochun's gelato shop that opened recently and it honestly looks so good in there! i want to go ahha!
