“It’s nothing really,” she replied quietly. But really, her heart was hurting. When she saw Jaejoong wasn’t there anymore, she felt horrible. She never intended it to end like that. She could only imagine how bad he must feel at the moment. The feeling of misunderstanding hurts.
Changmin shook his head at her. “If you’re crying something is wrong. I feel really bad about what happened. But I’m sure we can fix this Miyeon-sshi. We’ll fix this one way or another.” He gave her a reassuring smile and Miyeon tried to return it back. Hopefully he’s right, she thought.
“Come on, I’ll take you home,” Changmin said and then lifted Miyeon by grabbing her arm. Miyeon got up lazily and followed Changmin out the door and into his car. As they drove off, Miyeon looked out the window another tear rolled down her cheek. And here I thought today was going to be a good day, she sighed.

Opening the door to her house, Miyeon first saw both Dawn’s looking at her sadly. Both of their arms were crossed and they had serious expressions on their faces. Miyeon stared at them curiously and closed the door. “Dawn-J, does Jaejoong know you’re here?” she asked firstly.
Dawn-J replied with a shake of her head and frowned. “Even if he doesn’t know, I’m sure he’d be okay with it anyways. He really likes you, so he should trust me with you.”
Hearing that Miyeon scratched the back of her head, “I don’t know if he really likes me anymore Dawn-J. But, just give him a call just in case, okay?”
Before Miyeon could leave that area, Dawn-M called out for her, “Wait Miyeon-unnie, we have something to say to you.” Miyeon stopped in her tracks and motioned for them to sit in the kitchen to talk. The two Dawn’s sat down as Miyeon made them some hot chocolate. As Miyeon’s back was turned, they were talking with their eyes to each other.
When Dawn-J saw Miyeon tearing at the gelato place, she said it was better to tell her at home. Dawn-M agreed and waited at home for Miyeon to come. But sitting down now, it felt like they weren’t prepared to tell Miyeon at all. When they saw Miyeon’s expression, you could tell she was hurt. It was drawn all over her face boldly. As Miyeon put on a fake smile for them while sitting down finally, they knew they had to say something.
Dawn-J decided to start off, “Miyeon-sshi, why did you say that my brother doesn’t like you anymore?”
“Well, I did something horrible just now and I’m not really sure if he still thinks the same way of me,” Miyeon replied sadly. Those moments replayed in her head and she tried to shake them out again. She looked at the confused Dawn’s and shook her head. “It’s a complicated story. Let’s just say that it seemed like I had a boyfriend and I led Jaejoong on.”
Both of the Dawn’s eyes widened and they looked at each other. “What happened?” they exclaimed together wanting to hear more. Miyeon leaned back a bit feeling like she wanted to spill her heart out to the two curious girls in front of her. She sighed and then started to explain the predicament she was in. As she spoke, they listened and their expressions said everything they were thinking: shock, worry, anger, etc. Once she was finished with her story, the Dawn’s looked so peeved and sad.
“My brother will forgive you, I’m sure,” Dawn-J said trying to comfort Miyeon. Miyeon sighed and shook her head.
“You can’t be sure of that. I really messed up with this. I’m sure even Heewon was shocked at my actions and she knows me the best.” Miyeon sighed for the millionth time and rubbed her forehead in frustration.
Anger flashed in Dawn-M’s eyes and she banged the table with her fists, “Heewon wouldn’t care, I’m sure she wanted that to happen!” Miyeon jumped a bit due to the anger in Dawn-M’s voice. Dawn-J looked up at her waiting how Dawn-M would spill everything. Dawn-M was standing now and was directly staring at her sister.
“Heewon isn’t a good friend at all! You said it was her cousin right? Well, she should’ve explained that to Jaejoong and they wouldn’t have left! I bet she planned that to happen. Heewon is evil, okay?” Dawn-M started. Miyeon’s eyes were the size of plates as she tried to take everything in. Miyeon was about to open her mouth to defend Heewon, when Dawn-J spoke up this time.
“Dawn-M’s right! We saw them in the park earlier and Heewon is like planning something! She’s up to no good and is trying to hurt you. You shouldn’t trust her, Heewon is just not nice. We are telling you this to help you and Jaejoong. We don’t want to see you guys hurt. You have to tell this to Jaejoong before it is too late and both of your hearts are broken. You have to believe us Miyeon-sshi,” Dawn-J whispered the last sentence. The two Dawn’s sat down as silence filled the room.
Miyeon’s head was spinning. Everything she just heard was unbelievable. Even though Miyeon fully trusted these two girls, she trusted Heewon with her life. Heewon wouldn’t do that to her in a million years. Miyeon shook her head and tried to reason with the two, “Heewon isn’t like that girls. I know she can seem a bit mean at times, but she truly isn’t ‘evil’ as you would say. I’m sure whatever you saw in the park you have misunderstood. Neither Jaejoong nor I will be heartbroken if we aren’t even together. There isn’t anything to worry about.”
Dawn-M groaned and got out of her seat. Angrily, she pulled Dawn-J with her and stomped out of the room. She tried to hold back tears as she stomped all the way out of the house with Dawn-j pulled helplessly behind her. She slammed the door behind them and tried to clear her head in fresh air. “We have to do everything we can to stop Heewon,” Dawn-J said determined followed by a few coughs. Dawn-M nodded in agreement and stared up at the clouds to calm herself. After a second, they decided to take a walk, so they left her house and went off.
Inside, Miyeon took the cups and placed them in the sink. She started to wash them as she thought about what the two said. They were completely wrong about Heewon, just wrong. She finished and wiped her hands still distracted by her thoughts. Heewon had no reason to do any of that, right? Heewon was like a sister to her, right? Miyeon sighed and then heard the doorbell ring. Miyeon walked over to the door and opened it.
“Miyeon-ah,” Jaejoong smiled. Ah, the ‘Surprise Attack’, Miyeon blushed in her head. Just as she was about to smile, she remembered what she did and kept a straight face instead.
“Hello Jaejoong,” she greeted plainly. She didn’t have a right to talk to him now, she probably hurt him and it wasn’t right. Why did she always have to hurt him?
Jaejoong’s expression saddened at Miyeon’s blank face. “Can I come in Miyeon?” he asked and peeked inside. Miyeon left the door open for him and walked inside the kitchen. Jaejoong took that as an okay and stepped inside. He took off his shoes, closed the door behind him and went into the kitchen as well.
As he walked in and saw Miyeon sitting at the table looking blank, he instantly felt like his decisions were turning bad. He sat down on a chair too and stared at Miyeon curiously. He knew what he had to do in order to make Miyeon like him so he had to follow the plan. “Miyeon-ah, just so you know, I’m not upset about what happened at the gelato place today,” Jaejoong lied. He was very upset in reality but he couldn’t let it show.
Miyeon looked up at him with a hint of relief in her eyes. “Really?” she whispered.
Jaejoong nodded and knew the next things he would say had to be forced out of his mouth, “Definitely, I mean if you had a boyfriend already, you should have said so. You obviously like him and I would’ve been okay with that. But, I have to confess something now.” Miyeon tilted her head in curiosity. Jaejoong closed his eyes quickly and spat it out, “The thing is, even though I said I liked you all this time, I realized that I had hidden feelings for Heewon too. Today she was there when I was shocked so, I decided that maybe Heewon would accept my feelings for her. When I told her, she accepted me and now we are together,” Jaejoong rushed the last sentence. He felt an awful taste in his mouth after saying all that.
Miyeon’s expression stiffened and she nodded slowly at what he said. “I’m glad for you Jaejoong-ah. I wish you two the best, really,” she said quietly.
Jaejoong bit his lip expecting her to say something more. To cry out at him or something, but to his disappointment, that didn’t happen. The silence that fell over them was tense so he decided it was time to leave. “I think I’ll leave now. I’m going to meet Heewon, so yeah, bye Miyeon.” He headed to the door and Miyeon followed stiffly. He opened it, closed it behind him and walked out biting his lip. He got into his car and drove off feeling heavy minded. What did I just do, he questioned.
As Miyeon watched the door close, she stood for a moment or two and then felt something take over her. She ran upstairs to her room and slammed that door behind her. She fell onto her bed and grabbed a pillow. Miyeon put the pillow in front of her face and screamed as tears streamed down her face helplessly. She screamed and yelled desperately into her pillow and couldn’t stop. Her emotions came out in it and she felt the pain going through her voice and tears. She finally put down the pillow after fifteen minutes and saw how damp it was. She threw the pillow to the side and laid on a dry one. As she rested her head tears were still falling from her eyes. What did I just do, she screamed in her head.
