Miyeon covered her mouth with her hand at the truthfulness of Heewon’s words. She was absolutely right. Miyeon was the one who tried so hard to make him hate her. She was the one who came up with the idea. Miyeon did not deserve Jaejoong’s love at all.
Heewon crossed her arms and smirked at Miyeon’s reaction. “This is what you get Miyeon. This is what you get for hating. Pain.” With that, Heewon turned her back and headed back home to rest her evilness for the day. While walking, Heewon paused to think for a second. Was that all really necessary? Then she shook her head. Of course it was necessary, she confirmed in her mind. Hate is a part of life that everyone should experience.

As Changmin was walking through the park trying to see what Heewon was up to, he heard sniffles coming from behind a tree nearby. Curious, he went around the large tree and saw Miyeon slouched against the trunk looking just horrible. Immediately, he bent down and gave her a handkerchief for her tears. Miyeon glanced up at him with watery eyes and took the handkerchief. As she took it, Changmin saw her hand shaking like she experienced something totally life changing.
“Omo, Miyeon-sshi, are you alright?” someone asked before Changmin could. Changmin turned around a bit and saw another man with longish- wavy hair coming towards them in worry. Changmin scooted over so that the guy could see Miyeon.
As Miyeon laid her eyes on the guy she tried to smile, but it just wouldn’t come through. Then, something flashed in her eyes and tears started to come down again. Miyeon tried wiping her tears again with the provided handkerchief. The two guys waited for her to calm down a bit before talking again. They introduced themselves to each other briefly and then turned back to Miyeon who was finally breathing properly again.
“So, what happened Miyeon-sshi?” Yoochun asked softly.
Miyeon sighed and sniffled. “I messed up, that’s what happened.” The guys gave her a look for her to explain more. Sighing once more, she spoke, “I screwed up everything with Jaejoong. Honestly, right from the start I messed everything up. Now it has become clear to me that I don’t deserve what he feels for me.”
Changmin shook his head at her, “That can’t be true. I mean was it Heewon who told you that?” Miyeon tilted her head and nodded slowly. “Heewon is evil Miyeon. I know that’s harsh to say about someone who is family but it’s the truth. She wants to ruin your connection with Jaejoong,” he explained.
“How do you know that though?” Yoochun asked curiously.
“Well, let’s just say, she asked some favours and I can infer from there. Plus, Heewon has a lot of anger in her.”
Silence fell over them and then Yoochun clapped his hands together. “You know what? I’m done with this Heewon. I won’t let what she said affect your relationship. No way. Jaejoong has put too much of his heart out to let it be stomped on.” Yoochun stuck out a hand for Miyeon to help her stand up. She took it and got up.
“I won’t let this happen either! You two will be together!” Changmin exclaimed as well. Miyeon gazed at the two in front of her with a wide smile on her face. Her mood was immediately changed and she felt a large amount of energy inside of her. She could make this happen, couldn’t she? She could deserve Jaejoong’s love, couldn’t she?
As if on cue, Jaejoong came jogging out of the park entrance. Miyeon pointed at him and the two guys turned around to see him. Jaejoong was looking frantically all over the place. He couldn’t spot them and so frustration took over his expression. Yoochun turned back to look at Miyeon and then clicked his tongue.
“That guy can be so oblivious sometimes.” He rolled his eyes and then took hold of Miyeon’s shoulders. Yoochun placed her behind the tree even more and then looked over his shoulder before looking at her again. “I’m going to do something that will give you two another chance, okay? Just be patient.”
Yoochun let go of her shoulders and then whispered something in Changmin’s ear. Changmin nodded and then started to head towards Jaejoong’s direction. Yoochun also started to walk in his direction. “Wait,” Miyeon called after him.
Yoochun raised his eyebrow at her questioningly. “When do I know that the chance is happening?” she asked with an unsure voice.
“Don’t worry, you’ll know,” Yoochun replied sincerely, “but, once you see Jaejoong leaving, you can go home, alright?” he added. Then he turned around again and headed towards Jaejoong once again. Miyeon nodded and leaned on the tree trunk. She puffed her cheeks and felt a tingle inside her stomach. She looked down on her stomach and shushed it. I don’t need butterflies right now, she told herself.
After ten minutes or so, she looked on the other side of the tree and saw that the three guys had left. Coming out from behind the tree, she took a breather and decided to finally go home after an exhausting day. Miyeon called a taxi over near the sidewalk and got in. She sighed as she looked out the window while the car drove.
“Rough day miss?” the driver asked politely.
The corners of Miyeon’s mouth tugged up a bit. “You have no idea,” she replied.
***************************************************
Arriving at her house, Miyeon lazily went inside and changed into her comfiest pajamas. Just as she was about to turn on the television and have the rest of the day as a relaxing day, she heard the doorbell ring. Getting off her butt, she fast-walked to the door. “Coming,” she hollered.
When Miyeon opened the door, she was surprised to see Yoochun at the door. What was more surprising was the fact that Yoochun looked absolutely giddy and was holding out his cellphone for her. Miyeon raised an eyebrow at him and then opened the door a bit more. “You want to come inside Yoochun? You okay?”
Yoochun shook his head. “No thanks. I just want you to listen to this recording okay?” He looked down at the phone and Miyeon took it. Looking at the screen, she couldn’t find any clues as to what it was about. But nevertheless, she pressed the play button and put it full volume so she wouldn’t have to put it to her ear. There was nothing at first and then sound came suddenly scaring Miyeon a bit.
“Miyeon-ah, can you recognize who this is just by my voice?” the person said. Jaejoong, Miyeon quietly said in her head. “If you thought Jaejoong you are correct. But, if you thought someone else, shame on you and stop listening to this recording. Actually, don’t do that because I want you to hear what I have to say.”
Miyeon-ah, obviously, I didn’t mean to kiss Heewon. Heewon is someone I hardly even know and trust. Truth is, I never liked her and going out with her was just fake. I know that you and Changmin weren’t really together.I am aactually really happy that I know that now . Anyways, back to the kissing Heewon topic. The only reason I kissed her was because… I thought it was you. You two look so similar from behind and I didn’t know. Please forgive me about that misunderstanding. I know it is a huge thing, but I am so sorry.”
Last but not least, I have something to tell you. Try and remember this okay? Meet me at the Han River tomorrow at three pm sharp. You better be there, okay? Thanks for listening! Wait, aish that sounded corny. Can you edit that out Yoochun? Oh no, wait! Okay, I’m just going to end this. Bye Miyeon, I’ll see you tomorrow! Did that go well? What, where’s the end button? Why is your phone so different from mine?” Jaejoong’s voice ended and the recording finished. Miyeon felt her stomach getting those butterflies again and she giggled.
Handing back the phone to Yoochun, she saw Yoochun was feeling happy like her. “Thanks Yoochun, I owe you one,” Miyeon smiled.
Yoochun shook his head and then turned around to go to his car. Once inside his car he yelled, “Repay me by being happy with Jaejoong!”
