Chapter 6

- - worry

Jaejoong stared at Miyeon in shock and amazement. First off, how could someone just faint in the middle of nowhere. Second, why did she faint out of nowhere? Nevertheless, Jaejoong shook his head and felt some responsibility. It wasn’t his fault at all, but he felt that should do something. Jaejoong looked at Dawn who was at her sister’s side and trying to wake her up by slapping her constantly.

“Unnie, unnie! Wake up, what’s wrong with you? Please wake up!” Dawn cried over Miyeon. Dawn had no clue what was going on either. All she knew was that this was not a good situation. Dawn looked up at Jaejoong with pleading eyes.

“Please help me. I don’t know what to do.” Jaejoong nodded at her. He tilted his head and glanced at Miyeon who looked peaceful on the ground. She looked angelic to him. This was a change considering how mean she was being to him earlier on. Jaejoong looked around. Everyone was starting to stare at them. He sighed and told Dawn to get up.

Dawn got up and moved to the side hesitantly, not wanting to be far away from her sister. Jaejoong carefully bent down and tried to examine what was wrong with her. He couldn’t see anything wrong really. But then he heard her breathing heavily. He put his cold hand on her forehead and felt it burning. He lifted his hand immediately. Without thinking, he put one arm under her back and the other under her knees and lifted her up. Dawn stepped back a bit surprised at his sudden motion.

Jaejoong had no idea that he picked her up. It was a self-conscious movement. Once he finally realized what he was doing, he was already walking away and holding Miyeon bridal-style. Dawn followed behind him closely holding Miyeon’s bag.

Dawn looked up at Jaejoong. What is this man doing and who is he? Dawn thought. She shook off the thought though. He seemed to know Miyeon somehow and was willing to help her; that was good enough for Dawn.

“Can you open the door?” Dawn heard him say. Dawn looked up at him again and saw him lip-pointing at his car door. Dawn nodded and opened the back door for him.

Jaejoong gently laid Miyeon onto his backseat and buckled her up. He wiped the hair off her face. He grinned at her. To think that this girl had yelled at him earlier was a silly thought to him now. At this moment, she looked so harmless. Suddenly, Jaejoong felt a tug on his jacket. He looked down and saw Dawn looking at him with big eyes.

“Mister, where are you taking my sister?”

“My house,” Jaejoong replied. Dawn bit her lip and raised her eyebrows asking for more details. Jaejoong motioned to the seat beside Miyeon. “I’ll explain, but for now, just sit beside your sister while I drive okay?” Jaejoong said.

Dawn nodded obediently and slid in beside her sister. Jaejoong closed the door, opened the driver door and got in. He put the keys in the ignition and put it to drive. He started to drive to his house wondering if it was the right decision to bring her there and not to the hospital. If he brought her to the hospital, he didn’t know how people would care for her. They might just say that it was nothing and tell them to go home and the trip would be useless. Taking her home is the right decision, Jaejoong concluded.

He looked into the rear view mirror. Miyeon was starting to move and he could fully hear her heavy breathing now. He saw Dawn trying to shake Miyeon awake. Poor Miyeon, she had such a high fever and was really vulnerable. Jaejoong focused on the roads again and drove faster towards his house. Jaejoong was thankful that his house wasn’t that far. He really needed to get Miyeon some aid. Finally, his house was in sight and he parked quickly.

His car screeched to a stop in front of his house and his car was a bit crooked. Thankfully, his neighbours were used to his non-parallel parking and wouldn’t mind. He un-buckled his seat belt and got out of the car. Dawn did the same and un-buckled Miyeon. Jaejoong handed Dawn his keys. “Go open the front door. It’s the key with the Hello Kitty sticker on it. I’ll get your sister, go.” He instructed.

Dawn ran to the door and jimmied it open with the key. She looked at Jaejoong who was already carrying Miyeon out of his car bridal-style. He slammed the car door shut with his foot and fast walked to the entrance. Dawn jumped out of his way and let him through. Jaejoong kicked off his shoes and basically ran upstairs to his room. Dawn tried to keep up with him, but his legs were way longer hers. Jaejoong shoulder-pushed his door open and quickly set her on his bed. He took off her jacket and put his hand on her forehead once again. She was burning up.

He jogged to the bathroom almost knocking into Dawn. Dawn stuck herself to the wall as he passed by. She looked curiously at him. Why did he care so much?

In the bathroom, Jaejoong grabbed a wet cloth and a bucket. He felt a big rush in him that told him that he had to take care of her. He swiftly brought it to the room and saw Dawn sitting beside her on the bed. He set down the bucket and the wet cloth on his side table and put a comforting hand on Dawn’s shoulder. “She’ll be alright. Her temperature will come down soon.”Dawn bit her lip and looked at her sister concerned. “But, can you change her clothes for me? It’s not good for her to stay in those clothes. I’ll bring some pajamas.” Dawn nodded at him.
Jaejoong pivoted his foot and grabbed some pajamas out of drawer nearby. He grinned and got up. As he got up he heard a small knock on his door. “Come in.”

Dawn entered with a blanket in her tiny arms. “Oppa, this is the warmest blanket in the house. Let her use this.” Dawn said quietly. Dawn walked towards them and placed the blanket at Miyeon’s feet.

“Thank you Dawn. Were you sleeping, did I wake you?” Jaejoong asked. Before Dawn could reply, other Dawn spoke up.

“Your name is Dawn too? Wow, it’s so hard to meet another Dawn in Korea!” Dawn said. Dawn smiled sweetly at her and bowed a bit. Jaejoong looked back and forth between the two. He clapped his hands and pointed Miyeon’s Dawn.

“You change Miyeon, I’ll be right back. Dawn, come on, I’ll go make you some soup.” Jaejoong said. He was about to take his Dawn’s hand when she shook her head slightly.

“I’ll help Dawn change her. Just come back later oppa.” Dawn said softly. Jaejoong looked at her worried. Dawn smiled softly and motioned him to leave the room. He nodded and grinned. He started to walk out the door. Once one foot was out the door, he could already hear both Dawn’s laughing at something. Jaejoong walked down the stairs with a smile on his face. He was glad that Dawn had something with her. He didn’t want Dawn to be totally isolated from people.

In the room, both Dawn’s were already done changing Miyeon. The temperature of her body was burning and they were both worried about Miyeon’s condition. Miyeon’s Dawn was curious as to why she suddenly caught a cold. But the main question in her mind was whether or not one of the reasons she caught a fever was because of Dawn. Jaejoong’s Dawn placed Miyeon’s hair out of her face and studied her features. She was truly beautiful to Dawn. She looked like a kind person with a gentle heart like she suspected. Jaejoong was right, she was very beautiful.

“What do you think she is dreaming of?” Jaejoong’s Dawn questioned out loud. Miyeon’s Dawn lifted her eyebrow in confusion. Jaejoong’s Dawn turned towards her and grinned. “Whenever I have a fever or something, I always have a good dream.”

Dawn looked at her sister. What was she dreaming of?

Indeed Miyeon was dreaming. It was a strange dream for Miyeon. She was holding someone’s hand. And that person was smiling down at her like she was the greatest thing he had ever seen. Miyeon felt strange warmth coming from her heart in the dream. Suddenly, an earthquake was felt under their feet. Everything felt so warm and she felt like it was a million degrees. The person who was holding her hand was suddenly in the air. Holding him in the air was a girl whose face was covered. She was holding him with her two long fingers and was grinning evil.

“Let him go!” Miyeon shouted. The girl just laughed at her. She looked at the guy. He was yelling but no sound was coming out of his mouth. She tried to read his mouth. She tried to concentrate, but the earthquake under her feet made it difficult. Suddenly, he closed his mouth and stopped struggling. The earthquake stopped too. Miyeon was confused. What was going on? The girl set him down near her and shrunk into the background with her evil grin.

Miyeon rushed towards the guy and hugged him even though she didn’t really know who he was. Instantly, the guy pushed her away hard. Miyeon fell to the ground with a thump. She looked at the guy with sad eyes. “You hate me. Don’t try and get close to me now you fool.” He said with a cold tone.

Miyeon reached out for him but he appeared to get farther and farther. “What do you mean hate you? Who are you?!” She called. He just frowned and disappeared in the distance. “Come back? What do you mean hate? Please, wait! Wait! What do you mean! What do you mean?” Miyeon repeated this over and over again.

Suddenly she felt someone hugging her. “Miyeon it’s okay. Calm down it’s okay.”
