It seemed like there was a traitor in the house. A large amount of the drugs that he and Bosco got from Thailand had disappeared along with two of his people, who should have been taking them from Thailand to Hong Kong.
He couldn't believe that after careful planning and preparing for the trips, almost a thousand kilograms of his 'crystals' still managed to go missing. Crystals, yes, they were the hottest drugs on the streets right now, and he, Ron Ng was the one at the top of the predators¡¯ chain who was in control.
He realized the noise downstairs had increased and managed to travel its way upstairs. A smile grew on his face and he made his way back to the front room.
As soon as he stepped foot on the ground floor, Bosco Wong caught his arm, his face was all red as if he had ran all his way here. Ron realized that something was wrong.
Finally, after huffing and puffing, Bosco managed to speak and tell the story of his rushness.
"Leila's hurt. By the motor way. We had a car crash-" When he had gotten to the second word, Ron had left the room and started making his way outside.
As soon as he was outside, Ron was shouting Leila's name and worriedly ran out of the garden. He looked around, not sure where she was. Then suddenly, everything went black and a pair of soft hands covered his sight.
"Guess who?" The owner of the hands asked.
Taking a deep breath, Ron spun around and pulled her into his embrace. He knew it was Leila by the feelings her hand gave him and the soft but toughness in her voice.
"You scared the hell out of me." Ron admitted "Never do that again."
Leila pushed him away a little so that they faced each other and she could clearly see the wariness in his eyes
"That's what I'm supposed to say. You were the one who left to Thailand without telling me. You went for two weeks and you didn't even call me! You should be glad that I didn't find myself another boyfriend." Leila complained.
Being reminded the story, Ron quickly explained. "I am so sorry. It was a sudden decision; I didn't get the chance to tell you. But I left word with my people, in case you asked."
"Well, you could have at least called me when you got there. But no, I didn't hear one word from you." Leila continued.
"I really wanted to call you, but the Thailand police were trailing us so close, and they were listening into our phone calls. I didn't want to get you involved."
"That's an excuse, It's not like I'm not already involved is it?" Leila asked rhetorically.
"Okay, you're right. There's absolutely no excuse for my actions. I promise I won't next time. Alright?" Ron said, his fingers were held up like he was about to swear to God.
Leila smiled and leaned in to receive a deep and tender kiss. They held each other tight and...
...all of a sudden, a roar of cheering alarmed them. Bosco, along with a number of other members of the triad, stood in the garden, clapping their hands and whistling at the couple. Blushing, Leila hid her face in Ron's shirt. Bosco laughed at them, glad that they had cleared their worries out.

The room went dim as the screen became the source of light showing a young man in his twenties leaving a place which looked like an airport. Wearing shades that managed to show not one bit of his eyes, his feelings were concealed and it was impossible to read his facial expressions.
"Ron Ng, as we all know, arrived back last night with his cousin Bosco Wong from Thailand. Our spies have received words that their alley with the Thailand prince-Louis Koo was a success, and for the past week and the coming month, there will be a great deal amount of 'Crystals' imported from Thailand." Charmaine explained, pointing to the slides that constantly changed during her speech.
The slide on the screen changed again, it now showed a bag of small crystals lying on the table.
"Crystals are the new drugs on the market, they are a seller. Like, other drugs, Crystals causes drowsiness and feelings of being in heaven. What's special is the fact that they also make the user feel as high as they want. Constant overdose of this drug can cause mind problems and harms the development of people's anti-biotic functions. There are currently three cases in Thailand of deaths due to excess overindulge of these cheap and beautiful killers." Charmaine finished.
Sitting quietly and listening to her, the whole department of CID had a mixture of shock and anger on their faces.
As the lights switched back on, Myolie's voice sounded.
"Can't the Thailand police arrest the drug dealers? They're committing murder and it seems like they don't care who the victims are." A frown was stuck permanently on her forehead whilst saying so.
Charmaine sat back down, beside her, a young man answered Myolie's question.
"The Thailand police have done everything they can, but Louis Koo controls half of the government over there. There's not much they can do without first getting him out of the way. So now, the problem's in our hands." He said. "Last night, our people confirmed that a large amount of these Crystals were lost or possibly stolen on its trip to Hong Kong. Our target now, apart from keeping an eye on Ron Ng and Bosco Wong, is to find the location of these Crystals."
Understanding, Linda spoke up."I see. If we get this lead, we'll be able to track down the route the other crystals are taking to get into Hong Kong and trace the evidence back to its source."
"Louis Koo." Myolie finished her sentence. "And possibly Ron Ng and Bosco Wong along with him."
With that, discussions and plans started to form. Charmaine and her team were to keep an eye on the Discos and Pubs, making sure they were to take down as many drugs as possible.
"And meanwhile, Raymond and team B can follow the lead of the missing Crystals. Try to get hold of any information and track the Crystals down as soon as possible." Said the head of the two teams, Christine Ng.
As the two teams piled out of the meeting room, team B leader, Raymond Lam tapped Charmaine on the shoulder.
"We have some information on Ron Ng's lot if you need it. I can get someone to send it to you if you want. But of course, Miss Sheh would have her own sources of information, I believe?" Raymond asked, knowingly.
"You might want to stop asking useless questions Mr Lam. And thanks for the offer, but I think I can manage without the help." Charmaine answered, equally polite.
Raymond shrugged. "Well, if you insist." With that he left the room towards his office.
Charmaine stared at his back. Remembering the last time he tried to help, and accidentally landing her in hospital. She really didn't need to be forced to sleep and not allowed to leave her room again. It was a nightmare. Of course, she knew he didn't mean it. He had also caused himself a few minor injuries, but still...it was his fault.

Raymond sat back on his chair, sighed.
A knock on his door brought his attention and he called for the knocker to enter. A girl with short hair walked in and closed the door behind her before standing in front of his desk, saluting him.
"PC1979, Tavia Yeung, reporting for duty, sir!" She said.
Raymond picked up from his desk a yellow folder and opened it to reveal the girl's profile.
"Yes. New CID. I almost forgot." After quickly scanning through the profile to refresh his memories of the girl, he continued. "Well, I'm Raymond Lam, head of Crime Investigation Department team B. You'll be directly under me from now on." He stood up and started making his way to the door. "Follow me, I'll introduce you to the others first.
With that, the two left the small ergonomic room. Raymond clapped his hands for everyone's attention. Then, one by one, they introduced themselves. Already getting soft, Tavia joined in the team easily and the others all offered her help and experience talks.
Silently, Tavia thanked God for her luck. These people actually liked her. But, she thought, it wouldn't be a matter time before they didn't. And she dreaded the thought.
