suddenly it occured to him, that he had lied to bring her away from sam, and not wanting to let the her know his thoughts on sam, he was frantic.
"oh my god. i need to get them all out @ 10, and that jay is ever so sleepy. damn!" show thinks to himself.
he then flipped out his phone and frantically called everyone. on the bus, everyone turned to stare at him as he spoke in such a frantic and convincing manner, as it was already pretty late, and he had to get relayed numbers from a person. like, from Jay, to know Selina's number. so he was really frantic.
[A short interval]
Show : Alright! Thank you then! its 1000 then.
Selina : Ok, sure.
Show(POV): Phew, thats the last of it. i can cover up to say the least.
Back home, Show was thinking. thinking of what he had just done. he was contemplating over his previous action, whether it was too sudden or early to perhaps scare Hebe away. as he pondered over it, he never did get an answer. resisting the urge to call her, he just burrowed his head underneath his pillow seeking a decent diversion from his already disturbed mind.
[Saturday]
Hebe was the first to reach, as she always prided herself on being early. Hebe was dressed in her always casual wear.
Hebe(POV) : did i really remember arranging with them to meet here @ 10?
Selina : Hi Hebe!
Hebe(turns) : Hi Selina.
then Selina stopped. and gasped. Hebe was about to ask her what has happened, when Ella, LH and Jay gasped at the same time.
Hebe : what? what happened?
Selina : You.. you..
for the first time, they had noticed Hebe's new look.
Hebe : What?
Ella : You are pretty!
Hebe(blushes again) : Arr thanks.
Soon, the atmosphere returned to normal and the cracking of jokes was present as they all awaited the arrival of Show, but yet, one person was quiet. and that was Hebe. Hebe still deliberating on her decision whether to accept Show or not. was unable to come to a conclusion and in this period, she was pretty disturbed.
LH : That show! always late!
Jay : Yeah! its already 1015!
Ella : How impolite
Selina : Yeah!
then everyone burst out laughing, laughing @ the fact that they all agreed that show was impolite. all but Hebe. Hebe was in a world of her own. then, Selina noticed.
Selina : Hebe whats up, u've been very quiet.
Hebe : Nothing much...
Selina : come on, theres something wrong!
Hebe(raising her voice a little) : Im just tired!
Selina(taken aback) : Whatt..
all turned to look @ Hebe, she immediately shunned from the attention. she turned to look @ selina. with a very apologetic look,
Hebe : Im really sorry.
Selina : Tell me whats wrong, i can help you.
Ella(cuts in) : we are friends aint we?
Hebe : Yes,but..
Then Show arrives. with his usual cheerful self, he gave out a huge exclamation,
Show : Yo!
everyone then diverts their attention to Show and starting chiding him for being late, all but Ella.
Ella(pleading) : Hebe, whats wrong tell me. i can help you.
Hebe : lets not talk about this now. another time...
Ella : ok..
for the rest of the day, Show and Hebe pretty much avoided one another. till at one moment, at the shopping center, Ella,Selina,Jay and LeeHom went into a gift shop to take a look @ the cute toys. leaving show and Hebe behind.
[After a long pause]
Show : Hebe, im sorry for what happened yesterday.
Hebe : ....
Show : Will you.. will you accept me?
Hebe(suddenly screams) : No!
Ella who was shopping nearest the door, heard the scream and saw Hebe running away. Ella immediately took flight and ran after her. Show was just too shocked for movement.
at once the trio inside noticed and rushed out too, only to see a shrinking Ella, chasing after a nearly out of sight Hebe.
Selina(shrieks angrily) : Show! what did u do to Hebe!
Jay : What.. dude, what did u do..
Show : I didnt do anything
LH : And the reaction?
Selina(angrily) : Theres something to it! she is always so quiet. she wont flare up for nothing!
Show : ......
Selina then ran after Ella who was nearly out of sight too. it was raining then, as Hebe ran through the rain to the nearby park, she was so filled with emotions that she never wanted to stop, until she fell. her long flowing hair was now plastered to her body. and her contacts fell out. she was now searching frantically around the ground for that very expensive lenses. she was trying very hard to fight back her tears, but it was like a uncontrollable surge which went through her body.
Just then, she felt a hand extending to her, with the contact lense on the tip of her finger. she reached out her hand and took hold of the lense. mumbling under her breath, she made out a very strong "thank you". she then looked up, it was Ella.
Ella : whats wrong.
Hebe(trying very hard to fight back her tears) : nothing serious.
Ella(pleading) : Please Hebe, i beg of you, let me share ur pain.
Hebe(unable to control anymore broke down into tears) : Ella.... thank you...
Hebe related about how Show professed his love for her.
Ella : Why dont u accept him?
Hebe : I.. I cant..
Ella : Why?
Hebe : I cant handle the emotional stress. i want to end it fast, before it gets out of control.
Ella(pleading) : thats not the real reason.
Hebe : I Like him! but i just cant! i cant bring myself to spend his money. he deserves a richer girl, his calibre is definitely able to get a better girl than me.
Selina who was listening quietly behind, then spoke up.
Selina : Hebe, you are so naive...
Hebe : *leans onto Ella's shoulder and continues crying
[ Back @ the shopping mall ]
Jay : oh so thats it?
LH : oh man. thats a overreaction man. big time.
Show : No it isnt. i was too insensitive to her feelings. i should have given her more time. i should have let the feeling nurture. i shouldnt have brought her there. i shouldnt ..
Jay : Show, shut up. lets try to solve this. its no use whining about the past.
LH : Jay, thats too.. harsh.
Jay : no. Show, u need to be more understanding. she wants a assurance from you, that u will take care of her. she is too afraid. of losing it all. that, Show, can u help yourself.
Show : .......
what was started off as a happy day out with a group of friends, ended as a heart - wrenching affair for both parties, and their respetive friends.
[Monday]
school was particularly quiet that day. for the group of 6, even the first day of school was more rowdy. now they were apparent strangers, fragmented into 2 factions. irony o irony, Hebe and Show had to work @ the same workplace after school...
[Cafe Cartel]
as they entered and took up their respective posts, Sam greeted Hebe with a smile and glared hostilely at Show.
Sam : Hi Hebe!
Hebe : Hello Sam.
Sam : How was your weekend?
Hebe : okay i guess.
from the tone of her voice, Sam could tell that she was not very happy. he thought that this was the perfect opportunity to execute his little skirmish.
[6.30]
Sam : Show you can go back first.
Show(shocked) : aint i supposed to work till 650?
Sam : yes. but i think we have too many people here anyway. dont worry, i will credit ur pay as though u went back @ 650.
Show : ah.. thanks
a few other workers was like. damn why does he gets special treatment. but yet unknown to them, was that Sam was getting ready for his skirmish. on that very day. soon, it was knock-off.
Sam : bye!
Workers : bye sam!
Sam(turned to Hebe who was packing her bag) : Hmm. u free now?
Hebe : Yeah, im free till 10.
Sam : Come, let me bring u somewhere to cheer up!
Hebe : Whatever for? im not sad?
Sam : Just come!
Hebe(playing along) : ok.
she had no bearing whatsoever as to what Sam was plotting to do. yet unknown to Sam, was that Show was on-looking. Show sensed something was wrong when he was given a earlier time to book-out. he guessed. and he guessed right. that tonight will be the night. Show stalked Sam, as he brought Hebe into his car and drove off. they stopped oustide a rather famous coffee shop for late-night supper. Show saw Sam leading Hebe out of the car and to the tables to have supper. Show saw them laughing, and saw Sam ordering bottle after bottle of beer. Show never saw Hebe down so many bottles of liqour, judging by her frame, he would have said that she could not even stand a can of beer, yet she was there, downing bottle after bottle, mug after mug. the whole table was covered by beer bottles.
eventually, Show saw Hebe getting really drunk as she starting thrashing her hands about, and that was when Show saw Sam leading Hebe to his car. he saw them driving off, Show immediately flagged a cab, and tailed them, eventually, Sam stopped @ this run-down hostel and brought Hebe inside. Show could not recognise it. a bad feeling crept into him. as he saw Sam bringing Hebe up, he rushed forward to the stairs to follow him. he then saw Sam bringing Hebe into a room.....
