Chapter 15

secret admirer or something else?

Hebe's condition was pretty much the same, and 2 days later, a few queer happenings took place. it started off with Selina receiving a few calls from the same number, only when she pick the phone up, and noone spoke. and Selina receiving a few text messages from the person, wishing Hebe a speedy recovery, yet would not reaveal his identity. Selina had been very passive about it, and she decided to tell the other people.

[School canteen]

Selina(mysteriously) : Hey, guys, i've been receiving many weird messages regarding Hebe recently.

Ella : Really? when did it start?

Selina : 1 day ago.

Show immediately stop eating his food, and straightend up

Show : What was it about?

Selina(as though it was nothing) : some get well messages for Hebe.

Show(hasitly) : Show me your phone Selina.

Selina(shocked) : whh.. what.. ok..

Show : Hurry!

LH : Chill man! whats the hurry?

Show kept silent as he urged Selina to faster dig her phone out of her bag. at last when it was out, Show immediately went to check the messages. it was by an unknown number, not even sam's number. Show passed the phone around, and asked everyone if they knew who the caller was.

LH : it must be sam! he must be really very guilty now.

Jay : it could be Hebe's secret admirer.

Show : no. it cant be. if it is Sam, he would be messaging me and not Selina. he dosent know Selina's number and if its Hebe's admirer, he would be stepping forth to us and helping us.

Jay : Maybe, Hebe gave Selina's number to Sam?

Show : Doubt it. big time.

Jay&LH : *nodding in agreement.

Ella : are you guys keeping something from us?

Jay : show.. u didnt tell them?

Show : I didnt feel a need to drag them into this.

LH(persuasive) : yeah jay dont.

Selina : i demand to know what is going on.

Show : Nothing.. really.

Selina(nearly screaming) : Now.

Show reiterated his entire conversation with Sam that day, and how they believed that there was a 3rd party. and this 3rd party may well be the person who was messaging Selina.

Selina : U kept it from us?

Ella : Yeah? Hebe's our buddy too.

Show : I'm sorry. i didnt want to drag u girls into this. it is too complicated.

Selina : lets go to the police.

Show : whatever for? firstly, we do not have evidence, the police probably wont care. and we will put him on his guard that we are checking up on him.

LH : Then what should we do now?

Show : We cant do anything. we have no clue except this number which is very redundant too.

Selina : so we just wait? and wait?

Jay : Theres.. something we can do.

Ella : what?

Jay : We need Hebe to wake up, so we can know, who was the last party, if possible.

Show : But how. she's been sleeping for a week now. and the doctor says recovery gets slimmer by every day.

Selina : we must keep trying.. we cannot give up..

Ella : Yeah.

[Hebe's ward]

everybody took turns to keep her company, telling her stories, singing to her songs, messaging her, and everything else. yet she was unstirred. it was a thursday, when Selina's and Jay's shift was on, they noticed a letter being slipped under the door, and when they opened the door, they saw noone in the hallway.

Selina : what is that?

Jay : lets take a look.

the letter read :

"Dear Hebe,

i hope you will get well soon. looking from afar, i thought u to be nicest girl i ever seen, my heart really aches for you to be in this state. i had no choice. sorry, i cant visit you in person, your friends are always there. i'll pray for your recovery everyday.

Love,
Unknown."

yet attached to it was a cut out piece of clothing after a close whiff and careful observation, it looked. and smelt exactly like...
