Hebe(whispers) : I seriously meant what i just said
Selina just smiled in acknowledgement.
Doctor(Sternly) : Do you guys know that this is a hospital? Although this lady here have recovered, most others have not? this is not your house. or a park.
Show(standing up for the rest) : But Doctor, As Hebe just recovered, we were just...
He got cut off while trying to finish his sentence.
Doctor(smiling) : Haha, i was just kidding, Miss Hebe, I can tell u have recovered sufficiently, to be here, and joining in the atmosphere.
Hebe : *gives a nervous laugh.
Doctor : Anyway, please go on! Continue your conversations, but please be mindful of the noise level, as I’ve said, other patients are still warded. *flashes a smile.
LH(coolly) : Dude, We will!
Doctor(playing along) : Better do yo~! If not imma do something nasty! Haha!
As the doctor turned to leave, Hebe had a question to ask the doctor.
Hebe(suddenly) : Doctor!
Doctor : Yes?
Hebe : Can I leave the hospital earlier? I’m feeling perfectly fine, and I miss my home and going to school.
Doctor : Hmm, judging by the condition you are in, I guess it would be fine if you could be discharged tomorrow. Well, it’s the first time, I ever heard someone said she missed going to school!
Everyone : *laughs
Hebe : *Face turns red
Hebe : Can I go back now?
Doctor : Nope, u just woke up, we need to keep you here for 1 night for observation.
Hebe(pleading) : Please?
Hebe’s Dad(cuts in) : don’t be so impatient Hebe, its just one more night!
Hebe : But I would be all alone tonight!
Hebe’s Dad was going to be discharged on that very day, so Hebe would be all alone without any kin, or friends or so she thought to spend the last night in her hospital with.
Hebe’s Mom : Dear, just stay for one more night.
Hebe(reluctantly) : Okay.. *looked sad
Doctor : if that’s settled, I’ve got to be on my way to check on other patients.
Ella : Ok thanks Doc, Bye!
Doctor : See you!
After the doctor left, a lively chatter went up again, with everyone taking turns to tell Hebe about what funny things each other had done while she was in a coma, and what had happened in school. As the talk raged on for many hours, soon, it reached the topic of the future.
Ella : So Hebe, what do you intend to do from here.
Hebe(thinking) : Get a job, get some money, study?
Ella : And then?
Hebe(gleefully) : Fulfill our appointment!
Ella(Bewildered) : what appointment?
Hebe(acting angry) : *putting hands on hips, I cant believe you forgot!
Ella : *looking really blur
Selina : Ella.. you blur sotong! You forgot our appointment? The one we three shared?
Ella(remembering) : Oh.. you mean THAT appointment
Hebe : Yeah!
LH : What are you girls talking about?
Jay : Let us in on it, wont you dear?
All : DEAR!?
Jay : Yes, Selina is my dear. Who do you think I was referring to?
Show&LH : *heaves a sigh of relief.
Jay : what was that for?
LH : Wow Jay, so you and Selina are together now?
Show : Some friend you are, keeping us in the dark.
Ella : Yeah Selina! You kept such a thing from your buddy?
Hebe : Selina, why didn’t u tell me either! *makes a petty face
Selina : Sorry Ella, with the recent spate of events, it did not really put me in the mood of talking anything other than Hebe’s recovery, please pardon me.
Ella : Yeah, I understand.
Hebe(Playfully) : How about me huh? You could just talked to me when I was sleeping and I would have heard you! You kept me in the dark!
[Selina pauses for a moment] – puts her finger to her lips and starts to think,
Selina(tactfully) : Well, you were in the dark for about a month, and I did not keep you there.
Everyone immediately started laughing at Selina’s statement, laughing at the sheer innocence and cuteness of that statement, and the huge irony in Hebe’s statement.
Hebe : *blushes and sticks out her tongue at Selina
Selina : At least now you all know.
Immediately, the room were split into three diverse factions. The girls went together, the boys one side and the bewildered parents in another faction. Questions in the Girl’s side were rampant about the couple.
Ella : When did it start?
Selina : about a few weeks ago…
Ella : How did it start?
Selina : Well, it started off when I was in Hebe’s room alone, telling her stories, keeping her company, when because of the loneliness, I myself became despondent, and Jay came in and cheered me up.
Ella : You didn’t tell me until now?
Selina : I wasn’t sure then…
Hebe : Yeah, Selina you should’ve at least told Ella that you think you were in love. No excuses!
Selina : As I said, I wasn’t in the mood…
Ella : I doubt it, if u was in the mood for dating, I think you would be in the mood to talk to me about such stuff.
Hebe : I second Ella.
Ella : So whats the real reason then?
Hebe : Yeah!
Selina noticed Ella and Hebe exchanging winks, as though they knew something she didn’t. they were conspiring alright, but on what? She saw Hebe mouthing some words to Ella, and when she turned to face Ella, Ella was nodding vigorously, when that happened, they both burst out into a series of uncontrollable giggles. It suddenly slowed down, when they both turned their direction to Selina. They were eyeing her from top to toe. And shaking their heads in the process.
Selina(uncomfortably) : What?
Ella : was it because of something, a feeling perhaps?
Selina : What are you guys talking about?
Hebe : The reason behind not telling us!
Selina : U all very free le.
Ella : Yeah! We are! *nods to Hebe
Hebe : *nods back. Does that feeling start with a “S”?
Selina : Seli..
Hebe : Nope, I think its less than 6 letters?
Ella : Maybe 4?
Hebe : Nonono, *shakes her head its 3 I think.
Selina was unsure how to react, as the duo was speaking so fast, she felt that they both had a seemingly interesting telekinetic connection between each other, as they both can read each other mind, in bombarding her with questions.
Hebe : It’s a 3 letter word!
Ella : 1..2..3… Yeah!
Hebe : admit it Selina!
Ella : No Denying!
Selina : I…
Hebe&Ella(Chanting) : Admit.. admit..
