Promise for anything~

The day of the examinations consequently came knocking on everyone’s door, it was a common sight that day, to see people grouped together, discussing answers and predicting possible examination questions. Outside the examinations center, it was commonplace to see people walking out, shaking their head in utter disappointment, while some chose to express their disgust at the difficulty of the paper, most of them just silently cursing. Blaming literally everyone except themselves for their inaptness. many were obvious victims of this paper, as even Show, the brightest among the lot looked baffled throughout the duration of the paper. However, only a few bore a smile, as they walked out of the examination venue.

“Wow, I didn’t know it would be that easy!” Selina thought aloud

That single statement, begun to attract stares from most people nearby, and it did not need to take a genius to figure out why. Realizing the impact of her words on those around her, she immediately apologized and looked down. Hastening her pace towards the nearby coffeeshop was becoming ever so a frequent hang-out for her.

All of a sudden, she felt a slight tap on her shoulder, as she straightened herself, it was apparent to her that Hebe was right infront of her.

“Why are you ducking so low?” Hebe quipped, bearing a huge smile on her face.

“Shh… I will explain to you later!”

“Lets go…!”

Selina grabbed Hebe by the hand, and dragged her out of the school gates, making their way towards the coffee shop.

”Phew… at last… out of school” Selina spoke, giving a sigh of relief.

“What were you running from?” Hebe asked, with a trace of worry on her face.

“Haha, it’s not like what you think it is!”

“What is then?”

“Well…”

Selina re-enacted what happened, and the reactions of the people around her, immediately, Hebe couldn’t take it and started to laugh uncontrollably.

“Wha… I thought I could get some consolation...”
“Sorr.. Sorry!” Hebe replied, while still laughing

“Hmmph!” Selina retorted, turning to face away from Hebe.

“Ok… Ok…”

“Huuu” Hebe took a deep breath, and let it off.

“Lets go?”

“No!”

“are you.. sensitive?” Hebe teased.

“What? You laughed at me, and still call me sensitive? Incorrigible!” Selina retorted, looking really angry.

“Ah… I’m sorry!”

“Hmm!” Selina face suddenly brightened up, with a trace of sadism, she continued.

“I will forgive you, if you do something for me.”

“What? I don’t think I owe you anything ba?” Hebe replied, giving out a nervous laugh.

“Ok fine, whatever. See you in school tomorrow then.” Selina ranted, and stormed off towards the bus stop.

“Okok… I’ll do whatever you want me to do, as long as I am able to do so.” Hebe ran after Selina and gave in.

“You serious?”

“Well… I…” Hebe hesistated

It was at this moment, that memories of Selina helping Hebe came into mind, the bill Selina had settled for her at the hospital, all the support, all the happy memories popped into her mind.

“Yes” Hebe replied confidently.

“Thanks!” Selina smiled insanely

“Well, what do you want me to do then?” Hebe asked, curiosity printed all over her face.

“I don’t know, I just wanted reassurance! I will tell you in time to come!” Selina chirped

“Damn, I cant believe I walked into another set-up…” Hebe murmured softly.

"What was that?"

"Nothing..."

"Thats good!" Selina looked really self-sastified.

The next few days of examinations passed by pretty smoothly, with no major blip occurring, when the final day of examinations came, the feeling in school was very high, with everyone looking forward to the prospect of a lengthened holiday, and at last the release from this fiend grip. The mood was very upbeat and the last paper was coincidentally a very easy paper, the mood was on a record high, with students coming from all halls exclaiming remarks of joy and success, even though the results were still on the rocks, anytime, tilting to the wrong side, will cause the mood to slide, but who cared? It would take at least a few months to process the results, and till then, everyone will enjoy their freedom…
