Jay(shocked): whatt..? sup with that volume
S&LH: you were in a daze. sup with you?
Jay: Nothing
S&LH: there must be something, spit it out!
Jay: reallly. nothing.
S&LH(chuckling): so mr quiet guy has got someone he likes at last?
Jay: Haha. thats real cute, whatcha gonna eat?
S&LH: dont change the subject. admit it!
Jay(ignoring): ...
Soon, they reach the canteen, and they sat in their groups and started eating and the usual chat between the 3 of them started. but over at the girl's side of the canteen, there was a slight chatter.
Girl 1: wow.. she has nice clothes!
Girl 2: yea! very compatitible.
Girl 1: i wish i was like her.
all those comments were all refering to Selina as she queued up to buy food. however, they were also criticising Hebe who was as usual, her dark-rimmed spectacles gave her away. Selina, who didnt like people bullying her friends, excused herself from the line and went over to the girl's table.
Selina(stern): i hope you can stop criticising my friend, what has her dress sense got to do with you?
Girl 1&2(taken aback): sorry, but dont u find it true?
Selina: No, i find it pretty ok.
Girl 1&2: ok then, we are really sorry.
Hebe who was quietly queuing up lifted her head and saw what happened, immediately, her perception of rich people as proud,self-conceited, self-obssesive,selfish people was tweaked a little, she felt that, Selina was unlike those she met before.
Ella: Wow Selina, that was fierce of you! i didnt know you could be so fierce!
Selina(laughing): haha, i was just standing up for Hebe.
Hebe: thank you.
Selina: dont mention it, i was doing the right thing anyway.
After buying their food, they went to a table and starting having their food, as they chatted and chatted, soon, they brought up the topic of families and lifestyle.
Selina: Hah, i am the daughter of a rich person, my whole life has been taken care of literally, i have a caring dad and mother. my lifestyle has just been shopping with friends,studying, and taking up the occasional dance class, im too lazy to go for all.. haha!
Selina: Ella how bout u?
Ella: Hmm, i am the daughter of a manager of a small company, even though im not very rich, i am still given an education which i am grateful for, with a caring dad and mom, i feel that my life is perfect. my life style is playing basketball, soccer those kind of sports. i wanna take up a job soon and go for some kind of performing class.
Selina(exictedly): Hebe! why so quiet! how bout your family?
Hebe(softly): you sure you wanna know? i hope you wont shun me after that.
Selina&Ella: sure. what can we shun you for?
Hebe: Ella, not you, i was refering to Selina.
Selina: oh? dont worry. i am not petty haha
Hebe: i was borned in a very poor family who lived in a farm by the country side. we were a very happy family of 3, until the landlord came and told us that our rent has been raised, when we asked why, he said, " i wanna be richer" you got a problem? as he was already a landlord of many properties, my dad begged him not to raise the rent, but he refused. unable to bear the rent, we had no choice to give up the land and move to the city, in the city, we managed to get a small apartment at a cheap rate, but as my parents were uneducated and unskilled, their pay was barely enough for our electricity bill,water and food. i had to work since 10 years old to support my education. even during exams, thats why i study so much, to one day make it big and give my parents a happy life. i have not changed my specs in 6 years. Selina, why i was refering to you, was because, at first, i thought u were like that landlord, Rich,proud,self-conceited, self-obssesive, selfish. thats why if u did notice, i always spoke to Ella and not you, and only replied directly to your questions. i hope that by confessing to you how i think about you, it could either end our relationship early, and not end it later when i find out the truth about you. but when i saw u standing up for me, i felt you were different. i hope you are. are you?
Ella: Hebe.. you are so brave, i would never be able to say that.
Selina(shocked): i..i.. i didnt know i appeared like that to you.
Hebe: I'm sorry..
she then turned to move to another table to eat. untill Selina called her before she took her plate off the table.
Selina: Hebe, i understand, many people think like that of rich people. firstly, i thank you for your honest opinion, i feel that i am more inclined to your description, but i would like to change. can we be friends?
Hebe(shocked): aa... sure.
With that, the 3 girls then started having a hearty chat about some of their previous life encounters, with lots of laughter rining throughout the canteen. over at the guy's table,
S&LH: Jay. seriously SPEAK!
Jay: its nothing!
S&LH: i keep noticing you turning to look at the girl's table, especially where Selina,Hebe and Ella is sitted. speak who do you like!
Jay: you are imagining things.
S&LH: if your not gonna speak, you are so not gonna play with us basketball again.
Jay(>_<): .. alright, you guys win. yes i like a girl and so?
S&LH(busybody): who who who?
Jay: Selina.
Show(erupts into laughter): Hahah! Lee Hom! you owe me 1 month's supply of 100 plus!
Lee Hom(-_-"): What the... Thanks jay, why couldnt u say Ella.
Jay: ... what the.. you guys put me on my wits end.
the whole canteen turned to look @ show. Show immediately sat down and apologised to everyone.
Show: Jay, i know u so darn well!
Jay: yeah yeah..
Lee Hom : you just got lucky..
Show: im a lucky guy!
just then, the bell rang, and as they were walking back into class, Selina accidently banged into Jay.
Selina: Sorry..
Jay: It's Ok.
