“I’m nervous…” Hebe whispered
“Me too…” Selina whispered back
“Relax… What’s so daunting about this?” Ella replied confidently, but deep down, it was inevitable she was feeling nervous too.
The trio was at a singing contest audition. After months of vigorous singing and dancing practices, the trio was taking the initial step to stardom.
The atmosphere was very uptight, with the sea of people snaking towards the stage, of a immense length, with each group, whispering anxiously among each other.
In due time, they were the next group to go on stage, as the trio looked outwards from where they stood, they could see a sea of faces, yet could recognize none…
“Next!”
The three unsteadily walked onto the stage, as they were handed each a microphone, as they bumped into each other repeatedly over a short distance of 10m. A soft laughter was sent ricocheting through the crowd. Their anxiety was compounded when suddenly…
“HEBE! SELINA! ELLA! JIA YOU!!!” A loud voice ringed out from the crowd.
The trio turned and saw Jay, LH, and Show standing in the front row, carrying huge signboards which bore their faces. Immediately they smiled.
“We said we would perform once for them, let’s just take this as the time?” Selina declared, an aura of confidence wafting over her.
“Okay!” Hebe and Ella replied in unison.
There was no denying the infectious confidence they were exuding. From anxious and frightened girls who look as though they were going to whisper out a song, their faces, were smiling, as though they had done this a million times, and this was just a normal day of their lives, performing. Performers.
“Say you’ll remember… remember my hug, my heart, my soul~”
After they had finished a rendition of a song their friend wrote for them, coupled with slick and sexy dance moves, the crowd roared in approval. The judges, was left flabbergasted.
"Why, was such a talent joining such a competition, why haven’t they been signed by any company yet?"
As the judges moved to speak their mind, their voices was drowned in the ever echoing 1 voice of the crowd,
“Encore! Encore! Encore!”
The very night, as all 3 girls gathered for dinner with their male counterparts, happiness was evident on all of their faces.
“You girls were stunning today, you girls would definitely win this competition.”
“Haha, I don’t know… its not over yet, so anything can happen” Selina replied awkwardly.
“We have confidence in you girls.”
What was at stake, was a 3 year contract with HIM international music, and $200K.
After the girls had left, Jay looked at the other 2 guys, and asked a very simple question, yet none of them could answer.
“If they really win, they will be awarded a recording contract, which means they would be artistes… what would happen to us?”
“….”
When Hebe reached home, she was shocked to see a envelope addressed to her, slipped under her house door. On the top right corner of the envelope, was the symbol, of HIM International music company.
