Jay : nah, im thinking too much into it. its not like what it seems.
LH&Show : ? Jay, are u talking to yourself?
Jay : opps, just mumbling nothing to it.

Jay : lets go, we are meeting them by the school gate.
LH&Show : sure.
[School Gate]
Hebe : Selina! whats with that cheeky look? why are we waiting at the gate anyway?
Ella : Yeah! Selina. you have been smiling ever since we left u there in the canteen. did anything between you and jay happen?
Selina(cheekily) : we are waiting for Jay and his friends!
Hebe&Ella(shocked) : whatever for?
Selina : to eat?
Hebe : Nah, count me out. i still have to work later. and going out with guys.. just aint the thing for me. see you later!
Ella : Hmm.. Sorry Selina, you are in this alone. im going to catch up on some sleep! See ya!
Selina(pleading) : please. u cant leave me here again! please please please? *puppy eyes look
Hebe(>_<) : ah..
Ella(~_~) : ah..
Selina(pleading further) : please please please please!!
Hebe : errm.. ok. for awhile only.. take it as if im accompanying u.
Selina : thanks! Ella. majority wins! u've gotta come!
Ella : uhhh.. guess so.. damn.
soon they arrive at the school gate and they went to a nearby coffee shop for lunch.
[ Coffee Shop ]
after they had all bought their food, except Hebe who trying to save money bought only a lemon tea, a conversation started.
Selina(admist mouthfuls of food) : i guess i dont know much about u guys. can give a intro?
Jay(POV) : wow shes cute too when she talks like that.. hmm
Ella : yeah! u guys love basketball me too so lets know each other better!
Hebe(continues sipping her lemon tea) : ...
Show : well okay.. only if u guys intro yourselves too!
Selina : Fine by me!
after they exchanged introductions, what was left was Hebe. who was still quietly drinking her lemon tea and not participating in any way.
Show : Hebe, what about you?
Selina,Ella,Jay,LH(shocked) : you.. you.. you know her?
Show : yeah! whats wrong?
Selina : She hasnt said anything how do u know?
Show : Well, i just do haha!
Ella : go on hebe, do at least a short one.
LH : well yeah go on..
Show(expectedly) : please?
Hebe(resignedly) : im.. Hebe. i work part-time in my spare time. like my ex-bosses. thats about it.
Jay(caringly) : what! why do u have to work part-time!
Hebe : i come from a poor family, i have no choice but to work part-time to support my education.
silence reigned the table for a few moments. until Selina broke the silence.
Selina : Well! so what you guys gonna do after this?
Jay : wanna do some shopping? my shoes are soo worn out.
Selina : sure! lets go together!
right at that moment, Jay's and Selina's eyes met. as though a mystical force attracted them, they were transfixed onto each other, unwilling to move. until Selina snapped out of it.
Selina(POV): gosh, am i falling for him? cant be! cant be! i barely known him for a day!
Jay(POV) : thats it. i've found who i wanted. its time for me to follow up.
LH : sure Jay im with u!
Ella : well, i dont feel like sleeping anymore, Selina i shall go with u!
Jay : Show?
Show : nah, i shall chill out awhile then go home.
Jay&LH : see ya then! we shall make a move first!
Selina : Hebe, come along?
Hebe : i still gotta work.. sorry.
Ella : Hebe, i feel very sorry for u..
Hebe : thats life. i've drawn such a bad lot. i guess i've gotta live with it. gogo! enjoy urselves. and Ella, do help me get this brand of Contact Lenses. * hands Ella a piece of paper.
Ella : What! the cheapest brand! i heard it can only last 4 hours! the rest of the time it will decompose and ur eye will get infected!
Hebe : my new boss tells me that i've gotta throw away my this look. i wish i got more money to buy specs. but nah.. i shall settle with this for awhile. Ella. please? thanks
Ella : ...
Hebe : off you go! leaving her seat and shoving Ella towards the waiting Selina,Jay,and Lee Hom.
Selina : Ella, what did she tell u?
Ella(shows Selina the piece of paper)
Selina : WHatT! they will literally kill her. you dont intend to buy it right?
Ella : im going to buy a more expensive one for her. i cant let her use such stuff. it will hurt me inside if i ever see her suffering like that.
Selina : good thinking, i shall help her buy some too.
LH : jay what are the saying in whispers?
Jay : girl's talk. i guess.
Jay : alright can we go?
Selina : OK!
they then went towards the nearby metro(MRT) to take a train down to their version of orchard road, their down town area.
[Coffee Shop]
Hebe slumps back into her chair, not noticing the presence of Show.
Hebe(groans) : oh my god. 6 hours of work today. that leaves me 2 hours of free time. 1/2 hour to get home. 1/2 hour to wash up. 1 hour to do homework. well.. i guess...
Show(clearing his throat) : ahem.
Hebe(shocked) : oh you are here too?
Show : yeah, stayed behind to see how i could help u.
Hebe : why are u doing this?
Show : i dont know? because i know how it feels to be poor?
deep down in show, he knew that was not the genuine reason. it was just a cover-up. for now.
Hebe : nah, u just go home and catch some sleep. i guess i'll be off then too i guess.
Show : *catching Hebe's hand and she turned around. and her specs fell on the table.
at that moment, Show came face to face with Hebe only then did he noticed what beautiful eyes Hebe had. it seemed to be the most angelic thing he ever seen. he felt... totally in love.. totally mesmerized.
Hebe : *picking up her specs. Yes?
Show(stammers a little) : w..wh..where do u work? maybe i also wanna work. i need some money to supplement my lifestyle.
Hebe : i work @ Cafe Cartel at IMM.
Show : ok. i will drop by there later to have a look.
Hebe : alright. im going off first lest im late and my boss wont be happy.
Show : see ya.
As Hebe turned and left, for the first time, Show felt so deeply in love, he had efused to go into any relationships for fear of his inability to support her. but since Hebe was so thrifty, didnt look down on her like a few have done in the past. he felt that he should cast aside that flaw in his character, and go all out for this girl. the perfect girl he has been waiting all his life. the beauty came from within.
Hebe(POV): whats up with show man.. hmm he really just stayed back to help me? or is it any other reason? nah, i should not be letting my mind trail off again.
off Hebe went towards the bus stop, reciting the price list of the items on sale in her head.
