Selina(exictedly) : Ella! what should we get for ourselves today? and not forgetting Hebe's contacts of course!
Ella(in the same mood) : lets take a look around and see whats good!
Selina : sounds good by me!
Ella : Jay,Lee Hom. shopping. yeah. u guys do your stuff we do ours. we meet back here in 1 and a half hours yeah?
Jay(stunned) : yeah.. but.
Ella : Thanks!
Jay&LH stood there looking really silly as they watched Ella and Selina skipped off towards some nearby designer shop.
Jay : i thought we were going shopping togehter. not to the shopping mall together..
LH : why Jay? disappointed?
Jay(low then high) : its not that.. but.. its ethics! yeah its ethics!
LH : Jay u need to learn how to lie. ur tone gives u away.
Jay : Nope. alright lets go get my shoes then.
[ World of Sports ]
Jay : wow so many nice shoes. i wonder which brand should i get today? addidas? nike? lotto? hmm..
LH : get addidas! my shoes are addidas and they havent spoiled for a year!
Jay : Wow. mine only last 6 months! okay then i'll get a pair of addidas shoes.
soon after, Jay chose what he wanted and as the 1 and a half hour mark draw near, they left the shop and made their way back to the entrance of the mall. on the ladies side.
Selina : Woow! this is so pretty! *marvelling @ some key chains with a cute plush(small one) on top.
Ella : Yeah! shall we get it? i think it really suits you!
Selina : Ok, lets get 2! 1 for u, 1 for me!
Ella : wait! lets get 1 for Hebe too? i doubht she will ever spend on this anyway.
Selina : woow u are so thoughtful.. well 3 it shall be!
Selina(merrily) : we'll take these, thank you!
Selina & Ella winked to each other as the cashier packed up the key chains into 3 very cute pouches. unknown to them, was a pair of eyes, which followed Selina from shop to shop.
Selina : OK! time for us to go back.
Ella(holding Selina back) : wait! we forgot Hebe's contacts!
Selina : Oh my god! we've been so busy shopping for our stuff until we forgot about hers!
they hurried into the nearby Guardian shop and bought the most expensive box they could find.
Ella : alright now we are done! lets go!
Selina : *grabs ella hands as though they were very close friends and skipped off towards the entrance.
the pair of eyes that was watching them, then went down the escalator, off to someone which noone knew.
[ Cafe Cartel ]
Boss : Hi, Hebe! you are early!
Hebe : yeah! knocked off school early today!
Boss : must be hard on you. how was school today?
Hebe(as she was tying her apron) : Pretty normal i guess.
Boss : good to hear that! well, you wanna start now?
Hebe : sure!
all Hebe's bosses were always so nice to her. whenever they hear of her plight and witnessed her excellent work attitude, they never fail to praise her ceaselessly, and tend to be more friendly towards her. Hebe immediately busied herself with all the chores and duties of a worker @ the cafe. she went about clearing cups,plates taking orders everything she was so versatile and she didnt mind if she was doing more than others. as she was cleaning the table, she wasnt aware and she immedaitely straightened her back and banged into someone.
Hebe( abit frightened ) : Sorry Sir!
Man : its ok! its me!
Hebe : oh, sorry boss *chuckles
Boss : stop calling me boss. i have a name too you know.
Hebe : oh, yeah i forgot to ask whats your name?
Boss : i'm Samuel.
Hebe : Samuel? sounds very westernized.
Sam : yup. i got a american dad and a chinese mother. so i guess im a ABC then? haha.
Hebe( going along with his sense of humour ) : yeah haha!
Sam : Hebe, sit down, i've seen u work so hard.
Hebe(shocked): i dont think i should...
Sam : go ahead! im the boss remember?
Hebe(blushes): okay.
Sam : so tell me more about yourself?
Hebe told him her past but skipped the part about how she left the farm and just said she was working for extra money.
Sam : oh, you are so hardworking! you are a rare worker. i wish i could have more of you.
Hebe(blushes again) : aa.. thank you..
Sam then stroke up a lively conversation with Hebe after assuring her that she will get paid while she was chatting with him. as the chat went on, more customers turned to stare, with both of them chuckling and laughing out loud. right then, show walked past and saw them both laughing.
Show(trying to hide his angry and jealously) : Hi,Hebe!
Hebe(drying up her tears) : well haha, hi! what brings you here?
Show : well i promised i would come wouldnt i?
Hebe(clearly forgotten) : oh yah! sorry forgot about that. what was it u wanted me to ask for you?
Show's heart immediately started to fracture from within. did he really mean so little to the girl of his dreams?
Hebe : show, whats wrong with you?
Hebe : show? SHOW?
Show(shocked and trying to hide his disappointment) : ya what?
Hebe : i asked you, what was it u asked me to do?
Show : well..
Sam : Hey Hebe! u know this guy?
Hebe : yeah! hes my classmate. Show. Show, this is Sam. my boss.
Sam(stretching out a hand) : hello! if you are Hebe's friend you are mine too!
Show(reluctantly but still do it with a smile) : yeah! hi pleased to meet you!
Hebe(suddenly remembered) : Boss! do we have any more vacancies left for hire? Show wanna be part of the Cafe too!
Sam : stop calling me boss!
Hebe : s.. sorry.
Sam : just kidding but yeah, stop calling me boss.
Hebe(smiling) : ok, then how about the question i asked you?
Sam : sure anything for you!
Hebe(shocked but liked the sound of the words) : thanks!
Show(thought to himself) : she never said a thanks so sweetly to me before. whats it about this guy. he is a ABC! damn it. am i inferior to him? Show Luo you are not! fight for what u deserve the ultimate prize! go for it!
Show : Sam, so when do i start work?
Sam : Tomorrow perhaps? work on the same shift as Hebe too!
Show : ok and thanks again!
Hebe : thank you sam! and she smiled very sweetly at him.
immediately, Sam's heart was melted and moulded into Hebe's face.(ok sorry abit exageration here) he thought to himself. ok shes the one. im gonna woo her. but today's too soon.
Show(sensing something was wrong) : Hebe, go back to work?
Hebe : huh.. oh ya, i've been slacking too long..
Hebe : Sam, yea i'll continue now!
Sam : Jia You!
Hebe(smiles)
Show(thinks) : this is so frustrating!! damn it!
it was evening by then, as Hebe rushed off to attend to the evening crowd, leaving Show who was silently fuming to enjoy his cup of mocha.
[ Shopping Mall ]
Jay : you girls are so late! thats like a whole hour late!
Selina : sorry~! cant help it if we love to shop can we?
Jay : yes we can?
Selina(making a sort of petty face) : PETTY!
Jay(taken aback) : look i was just kidding!
Selina(smiling) : i knew! ok lets go home!
Ella : wow thats a perfect couple all right.
suddenly a voice from the right boomed
LH : yeah! u are right
Ella : oh hi! LH i didnt know u were just beside me.
LH : im sneaky right! so agile haha!
Ella : ok whatever, i'll beat u in basketball still.
LH : wanna make a bet?
Ella : Sure! whats at stake?
LH : if i win, i'll treat u a lunch. but if u win then i'll treat u a lunch. how about it?
Ella : sure! fine by me!
LH : its settled then.
off they went back home it was about 7 at night then when everyone reached home, all they wanted to do was to relax watch some tv,eat and shower and go to sleep.
[ Cafe Cartel ]
Hebe(yawns)
Sam : Hebe are u very tired?
Hebe : Yeah i think i didnt have a good enough rest last night.
Sam : oh i see. anything i can do to help?
Hebe : Nah, you have done enough. well cya then!
Sam : ok see you tomorrow.
Sam stood there watching Hebe's figure slowly moving out of sight towards the bus stop. how he wished he stayed near her and hence could get a reason to take the same bus. sam brushed those thoughts aside and humming a tune, he made his way towards his car, to call it a day.
