“Hah..fall in love with him? Never,” Leila expressed her disgust to even think of her and Bosco as a couple.
“Why?” Sammul questioned, turning to look at Leila who shrugged it off carelessly. “He’s actually…very pitiful.”
“Pitiful? You call that behavior pitiful?” Leila laughed sarcastically.
The corner of his lips twitched. “What’s your mom like?”
Leila was taken aback by the sudden, out of topic, question. “What does that have to do with this? You’re very random, you know that? But to answer your question, I’d say…” Leila smiled widely. “She’s the best mother on Earth. It must be hard for her to be a single parent, she had to raise me as a mother and a father. I wouldn’t trade her for anyone else. Why?”
Sammul gave her a melancholic smile. “Of course, but what would you do if your mother left you alone at the age of 8 for another man and worse, she left you with your abusive father?”

Tavia let out a small yawn as her eyes slowly open and her sight came into view. She looked to the right and smiled as she saw Raymond sleeping peacefully beside her. Feeling slightly cold, Tavia pulled the blanket up to cover herself until it dawned upon her what happened just a few hours earlier. She peeked under her blanket and blushed to find that she had no clothes on yet giggled softly.
“Would you care to tell me what is so funny, love?” Raymond spoke deeply, huskily; just woke up from a dream-filled sleep, perhaps. It frightened Tavia as she immediately closed her eyes, hoping that he’d still think she was sleeping. She still didn’t know how to face him after their passionate night together. “I see, you’re still sleeping. What would it take to wake you up?” He chuckled, hesitated and then leaned in closer to her ear, “I suggest we go for another round, Tavy.”
Her eyes instantly open and stared back into his dark ones. “What?”
“You don’t want?” He smiled mischievously.
“N-NO!” She protested.
“Ah, but you stuttered so that means you were lying. If you were lying then that means..you do want to go for another around,” he teased.
Tavia groaned. “Is it necessary? You’re making me uncomfortable.”
He responded with a question, “Is it necessary to taunt me so?” He eyed the blanket that was covering her fully. “List 3 reasons why not.”
“Ugh. First, you’re a horrible kisser; second, you al--“ Before she could finish her sentence he had plunged in for a kiss, stopping her from finishing her sentence, knocking the breath out of her and caused her heart to pump so rapidly, she was afraid it’d explode.
“Say what?” He pulled out only when she was breathless and dazed.
“That was...horrible,” she smiled cheekly whilst gasping for air.
“Hmm..maybe I should--”
“NO. I’m getting out.”
“Absolutely,” Raymond started before rolling on top of her. “Not.”

Tavia hugged herself closer as she placed her head between her knees. His words replayed itself, over and over again, not giving her a chance to rest, to forget everything that came out of his mouth. She refused to believe it yet a part of her had already succumbed to the harsh cruelty of his words. He was not acting as Raymond should be. He used a cold tone to communicate with her, a tone that Raymond would not. He ordered her to leave as Raymond would never and didn’t even try to stop her. He didn’t call her ‘love’ or ‘Tavy’, but so distantly, Miss Yeung. He would not look at her in the eyes, but even if he did, what made her so sure it would be filled with love? Her tears flowed endlessly yet she still clung onto a piece of hope that it was a lie, maybe even a stupid joke that was meant for laughs or…tears. Who was she kidding? Now who was she to question the account of his veracity? She was a nobody, not love, not Tavy, but simply, a mere, Miss Yeung. A stranger.
She heard footsteps coming her way and looked up with hope-filled eyes. So this was it, he went to look for her and now, he’s going to say that it was all a stupid joke. To her dismay, it was not so. He wasn’t there as he should be, he didn’t crack a smile that was reserved for her, he didn’t even bother.
“Tavia..” Ron mumbled, kneeling down beside her. He watched her sobbed in pain and it reminded him of how Bernice used to be - the same pain caused by the same man. Ron growled in distaste and clenched his fist. “Why are you crying for him? He’s not worth it!” Ron softened for he remembered it was him who bestowed this upon her - it was partially his fault. “Sorry,” he mumbled and pulled her into his embrace. He felt the moistness on his shirt, but didn’t mind. “For bringing you into this mess.” He planted a small kiss on her head.
