Reporters were crowded outside the Supreme Courthouse, waiting for her appearance. And as she steps out of the courthouse, in her office suit, reporters surrounded her with questions:
“Lawyer Lee, how do you feel about your victory?” “Helping this criminal win, what does this make of you?”
As questions kept pouring towards her, the security managed to get her through the crowd. Just as she steps away from the reporters, unknowingly, a woman approaches her and furiously slapped her, right across the face, her brown-tinted sunglasses almost fell off. As sudden as it happened, reporters quickly took pictures of her reaction. But to their surprise, her only reaction to the incident was unemotionally adjusting her sunglasses as the security took the woman away.
As the security dragged the woman away, the woman continually yelled, “Why did you help him?! My son is still in the hospital and you let that criminal get away with it?!”
The reporters continued to take pictures as she tried to make her way through the crowd, this time with fewer securities. Just then, a limousine pulls up in front of her and stops, as the window rolls down.
“Rain,” an elderly man calls to her from the limousine.

“Thanks for the ride Chun Sok,” Rain finally responds, as they were in the limousine.
“I should be the one thanking you Rain,” Chun Sok explains, “If you hadn’t helped me with this favor, you wouldn’t have to put up with such assault…” he trails, “I’ll make sure that woman-“
“That’s all right Chun Sok,” Rain interrupts before he can finish, “She’s just upset about her son…” Rain stops at the thought of the teenage boy still in the hospital. “I wonder if he’s all right,” Rain asks herself aloud, as she looks out the black-tinted window.
“Don’t worry,” Chun Sok assured her, “I hired the best doctors to care for him, and it’s anonymous as to who is paying for it, so that woman won’t know.” Then his reassurance turned to anger. “That Lung, I don’t know how he teaches his underlings, especially his nephew, getting into something this serious.”
Rain turns from the window, “Don’t get too upset Chun Sok, remember what the doctor said about your blood pressure.”
“Don’t worry,” Chun Sok pats her hand, “I can still last for some time. Besides, I still have yet to meet your future husband,” he jokes.
“Chun Sok, why must you always bring up this subject,” Rain acknowledges, “Don’t you get tired of it by now?”
“Of course not, I see you as my daughter, and if I don’t even see that you have a boyfriend, how am I to leave in peace,” he explains.
“Well then, I just might not get married, just so that you won’t leave me,” Rain suggests.
“Don’t be silly,” Chun Sok says, warmed by her words, “I can’t be by your side forever…” he then comes to reality, “especially since the police are so intently trying to find ways to convict me.”
Rain then turns serious, as before, “Chun Sok, your biggest worries isn’t the police, because whatever happens I’ll be there,” Rain explains. “But my biggest worry for you is Lung Sok, he has always been the most ambitious of them all, you really have to watch out for him Chun Sok…”

“Hey, did you guys read the magazines today?!” a guy exclaims, upon entering the police station.
“And what gossip in the entertainment or business world could possibly excite this little soul even more,” a guy too enters the department with a file folder in hands.
“Must you always have to be so sarcastic Raymond,” the first guy retorts, as Raymond walks towards his office. “I’ll hope you know that this piece of news is out of the norm, it’s-“
“Get to the point Matt, we don’t have all day,” an elderly man, Lai Sok, rushed.
“Okay, okay, I’m getting there. Raymond, don’t you want to hear the news too?” Matt shouts through Raymond’s open office.

“Just tell it. I’ll be able to hear,” Raymond responds, tidying the top of his desk.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
“Okay,” Matt obeys, “Yesterday afternoon, tycoon Chun Pui’s god-daughter Rain Lee, was publicly slapped,” he emphasized, “right across the face…”
“So?” Lai Sok asks, “Anyone related to that ‘Black Market Leader’ should be expecting it,” he concludes, as Raymond, seemingly interested to the news, walks out of his office.
“Wait, you didn’t even let me finish,” Matt explains, “See, Raymond here, has the patience for the good stuff.”
“Just finish it,” Raymond instructs, “Anything related to Chun Pui, I want to know.”
“The last piece to this news is… the woman who slapped Rain Lee is Mrs. Choi, the mother of Anthony Choi,” Matt concluded.
“Anthony Choi?” Lai Sok recalls, “Isn’t he that kid that got brutally beaten by a bunch of Kwok Lung’s underlings, led by his nephew?”
“Precisely,” Matt points out, “Yesterday was the final trial of Sam Kwok, and he was declared innocent.”
“That Rain Lee must be very scheming to get Sam Kwok plead innocent. Here, we all thought he was going to get what he deserved,” Lai Sok commented.
“What? How come I never heard about this?” Raymond questions. “How come no one informed me about this when I came back?”
Before any of them could answer, two girls walk into the department, one talking loudly.
“Mimi Jie, must you talk so loud,” Matt ponders, “Why can’t you be more like Michelle and show your nice, soft side once in a while.”
“What, am I embarrassing you,” Mimi walks over, glaring at Matt.
“No, but…” Matt starts, as Lai Sok rolls his eyes, and Michelle and Raymond approaches one another.
“So, what brings you here?” Raymond asks, politely.
“Oh, I was just carrying a file down to the Public Relations Department, and I bumped into Mimi, so we just chatted for a while,” Michelle explains.
“Oh,” Raymond responds, “Hey, would you…” but before he could continue, was interrupted.
“How much are you guys willing to bet that Chun Pui will have Mrs. Choi pay for slapping his beloved god-daughter?” Matt suggests.
“Wah, I can’t believe you are so heartless to make a bet of this situation,” Mimi says in disgust.
“I agree with Mimi, this is not something you can take to joke about,” Lai Sok scolds.
“Okay,” Raymond intervenes, “Matt, since you seem so interested in this case, you can go with me to visit Anthony Choi,” orders Raymond.
“Right now?!” Matt bewilders.
“Of course, grab the file folder for this case and let’s go,” Raymond responds, then as he starts to leave, he turns to Michelle, “We should get together some time.”
“Sure,” Michelle smiles in reply, as Raymond smiles back in turn, watching him leave.
“You don’t have to look anymore, he already left,” Mimi informs her, as she walks up next to Michelle and looks to the direction of where Raymond last was.
Michelle turns to Mimi in surprise, “What are you talking about?” Michelle acts oblivious.
“Don’t try to pretend like you don’t know anything,” Mimi confronts, “We all know you like Raymond, right Lai Sok?”
“That’s true,” Lai Sok responds, “But don’t worry, I’m sure Raymond knows how you feel, he’s just too career-oriented, that he hasn’t had the time to take any action.
“Lai Sok,” Michelle signals him to stop as her face flushes red from embarrassment.

“I know you just got promoted as sergeant, and you want to prove yourself worthy, but you don’t have to overwork yourself you know,” Matt says, keeping up with Raymond’s strides, as they walk down the hospital halls, “Besides, this case is technically closed.”
“Not if the criminal is left unjustified,” Raymond responds.
“Hey, wait, not feeling well,” Matt stops dead, holding onto his side, and using his other hand to hold Raymond for support.
“You can’t be serious,” Raymond says in disbelief.
“Nope, no joke. It must have been something I ate this afternoon, Matt tells, “You go to Anthony Choi’s room first, and I’ll meet you there later,” Matt says, as he goes to find the washroom.
Raymond, still in disbelief, heads towards Anthony Choi’s room.

She stands outside the critical room, looking through the glass window, as she watches the almost lifeless body of the teenage boy.
Raymond finally reaches Anthony’s room, and to his surprise, he sees a youthful woman looking through the window, yet not entering the room.
As she gave the boy one last look, she turns, and walks away.
Raymond watches as the young woman turns in the opposite direction and starts to leave. As she begins to get further away, and the elevator doors open to her, Raymond calls out, “Miss.”
As she finished taking the last step in to the elevator, she hears a call and looks up in the direction of the voice, just as the elevator door closes.
