“Seems like you’re happier as days go by,” Edison comments, walking into Rain’s office.

Rain looks up to see Edison, and gives a welcoming smile, “Hey, when did you get back from your business trip?”

Taking a seat across from Rain, Edison looks at his watch, “About an hour ago.”

“And the first thing you do is pay me a visit, I think I should be honored by that,” Rain teases.

“I’m pretty sure you’d rather Sergeant Lam be the one walking through that door,” Edison points out. Looking around Rain’s office, seeing and sensing the distinct difference in environment the place once had, he adds, “Starting to like flowers more?”

Rain scans the lilac-filled room, smiles and replies, “Just lilacs.”

Edison smirks to the answer, “So I assume that the majority of the bricks are off the load now that Chun Sok officially retired from the black market.”

“Actually, more worried,” Rain confesses, as her smile fades.

Edison, hearing the response, looks to Rain with concern.

Looking down at her desk, Rain sighs, “In the past three months that Raymond and I have been together, it seems like everything has gone so well. And just a month ago, when Chun Sok told me that he is officially leaving the black market behind, I couldn’t be more overjoyed…”

Edison does not give a comment, as he knowingly lets her continue.

“I don’t know, I guess I just can’t imagine my happiness lasting. Every time I think that, something always appears to prove me wrong,” reveals Rain, looking up at Edison.

Give a reassuring smile, Edison tells her, “I think you need to not think so much. If anything happens, I’ll take care of it.”

Rain, comforted by his words, forms a slight smile, “Thanks.”

“No need to work so hard, you know.”

“Oh, hey Raymond,” Michelle greets as she looks up, seeing Raymond behind her.

Raymond seat himself on the edge of her desk, “You just got transferred into this department not long ago, I know you’re hard working, so you don’t need to prove it to me,” he teases.

Michelle chuckles, “I don’t know, I heard Sergeant Lam is a very strict head officer,” she plays along, “Even if I have to miss lunch, I still have to go through all the old cases.”

“Wah, just because you want to diet, don’t put the blame on me,” bewilders Raymond.

Michelle laughs to the comment, then looking at Raymond, satisfyingly smiles, “You have become a lot less tense since you started dating Rain,” she expresses.

Raymond smiles, knowingly.

“Busy?” Chun Pui asks, after knocking on Rain’s office door.

“Chun Sok,” Rain acknowledges upon looking up, “No, I was just looking some files through.”

Chun Pui smiles, “So does that mean you can accompany this old man for lunch in an hour?”

“Of course,” Rain accepts.

“And if Raymond has the time, maybe you can invite him out for lunch with us,” Chun Pui adds, to Rain’s surprise. “I know that you have always been worrying about how I would accept you being with Raymond,” reveals Chun Pui, “but now that I have retired from the black market, I don’t see any awkwardness in meeting my future son-in-law.”

Before Rain could respond, her phone rings, as she excuses herself to answer it. “Hello? Raymond,” she acknowledges the caller, looking up at Chun Pui.

Chun Pui, knowing to leave the conversation, signals for his departure, as Rain acknowledge it with a grateful smile.

“Rain? Are you busy?” Raymond asks, hearing silence on the other end.

“No,” Rain quickly replies.

Raymond chuckles, “For a second there, I thought you were getting sick of me.”

Rain laughs through the line, “Who said I wasn’t?” she teases.

“So does that mean you’re rejecting my invitation to lunch?” he asks.

Rain smiles, “That depends if you mind having extra company.”

Raymond, not knowing whom Rain was referring to, kept his silence for her to reveal the mystery person.

“Chun Sok told me to ask you if you would like to come for lunch with us,” Rain reveals, waiting for his response.

Raymond, surprised by the sudden question, does not immediately respond. But it took only a brief moment as he smiles and answers, “If he doesn’t mind that he might be feeling like a light bulb between the two of us,” he jokes lightly.

Hearing his response, Rain lets out a sigh of relief, “Only if you don’t mind being Chun Sok and mine’s third wheel,” she teases back.

Raymond, then turning to Rain’s concern, “For the three months we’ve been together, I’ve never formally sat down with Chun Sok,” he expresses, “I think it’s time I invite him out.”

“Thank you Raymond,” Rain whispers gratefully.

“Chun Sok and I had many unwanted encounters in the past, but I can tell what he has done, or rather not done, in this past month,” Raymond reveals his standpoint. “As long as we don’t meet under the law, I know we can accept that you have become an important part of each of our lives.”

Ending his call with Rain, Raymond hears a knock on his office door as he puts down the phone. “Come in.”

Michelle, walking in slowly, closes the door behind her and looks at Raymond, not knowing where to start.

Still in good spirits, “What’s up?” he asks.

Michelle guiltily looks at Raymond, “We just received new evidence to convict Chun Pui.”

“Mr. Chun,” Chun Pui’s secretary calls to him upon opening his office doors.

Looking to see Raymond step up from behind his secretary, Chun Pui’s smile slowly fades as he sees the rest of the officers behind Raymond.

Sighing happily to herself, Rain closes her file folder as she gets up and grabs her bag for lunch.

Approaching Chun Pui by himself, as sergeant, Raymond reveals his identification, “Mr. Chun Pui, you are under arrest for the importing and trading of illegal products. You may speak now, but anything you say may be recorded and used as evidence on court.”

Standing just in front of Chun Pui’s office doors, behind everyone, Rain closes her eyes in disappointment.
