He was only able to have a glance of the young woman before the elevator door closed between them.

“Raymond.”

Raymond turns around to see Matt approaching him, and alongside, a middle-aged woman.

“Hey, how come you just got here?” Matt asks, assuming Raymond too, just arrived, seeing that he was standing outside the room. “But guess who I bumped into on the way here”? Matt cuts himself off. “Raymond, this is Mrs. Choi, Anthony’s mom.”

If it wasn’t for that woman, the boy would have justice served,” Mrs. Choi says bitterly, as she wipes the forehead of her son.

“Don’t worry Mrs. Choi,” Matt, standing off-side by her, assures, “With Raymond back, we’ll for sure bring Sam Kwok to justice, right Raymond?” Matt turns to Raymond, who was standing next to the window the young woman, had looked through. Then seeing Raymond off in a daze, Matt calls for him once again, “Raymond?”

“Huh?” Raymond responds, leaving his thought.

“Are you okay? You’ve been acting kind of strange,” Matt observes.

“Yeah,” Raymond replies, as he turns his attention to Mrs. Choi. “Mrs. Choi, are you just here during lunch and after work regularly?”

“Yes,” Mrs. Choi responds, “Anthony is my only family left, and now that he’s like this, I have to continue work so I can pay for the rent.”

“Wah, that must be a strain,” Matt sympathizes, “Especially with the hospital fee…”

“Actually,” Mrs. Choi interrupts, “the hospital fees are already being paid for by someone.”

“I thought you said that Anthony is your only family?” Raymond questions.

“He is,” Mrs. Choi explain, “the doctor just informed me that someone is willingly paying for Anthony’s medical fee.”

“Do you know who it is?” Raymond’s interests grows.

“No,” Mrs. Choi admits, “they told me that the person wants to remain anonymous.”

“What is with you and all those questions you kept asking,” Matt exclaims, as Raymond drives them back to the station, “You practically took us the whole day, it’s almost time to get off work, and we didn’t’ even have a chance to open our new case yet.”

With no regards to what Matt had said, Raymond orders, “Tomorrow morning, I want you to find me all the information you can on this case, Anthony Choi, Sam Kwok… and Rain Lee.”

“Okay, I’ll get on that,” Matt groans, as he shuts his eyes and leans back on the head cushion.

“Don’t worry,” Raymond assures, “I’ll owe you lunch as usual.”

“Just remember, I didn’t force it on you,” reminds Matt.

“Yeah,” Raymond grins, then turns serious, “Hey, how come I’ve never heard of Rain Lee before? I’ve done all research on Chun Pui, and I’ve never discovered he had a god-daughter,” he questions.

“Trust me, no one has. She just came back from England, and the next thing you know, she’s made herself known from being the defense lawyer for the Black Market,” Matt explains, “and then she turns out to be Chun Pui’s god-daughter, and is helping him fight all charges.”

“Sure you don’t need a ride home?” asks Raymond, as he stops the care at the station entrance.

“No, I’ll get myself a ride home,” Matt answers before leaving, “See you tomorrow.”

As Raymond begins to leave, he hears his name called out, and turns to the entrance.

“Raymond,” Michelle calls to him as she quickly approaches him.

“Hey Michelle,” he greets her. “What’s up?”

“Oh, mom and dad were just wondering if you are free for supper tonight,” Michelle explains, but then add, “but if not, that’s all right.”

“Well, I guess you’re out of luck,” Raymond says. As he sees Michelle’s disappointed look, he smiles, “I have all night to spare.”

Michelle looks up and smiles, “You tricked me,” she scolds.

“Yeah, but it was so easy,” Raymond says frankly, then grins, “So, you off work yet? Your chauffeur here is getting hungry.”

“I’m done, just give me a minute to finish up some things,” Michelle answers, as she takes off, “Wait here, it’ll be quick,” she calls back.

Raymond, seeing her hurriedly takes off, cannot help, but grin to himself.

“Go and thank Rain,” Lung orders Sam, as both of them, along with Rain and Chun Pui are settled in Chun Pui’s manor office. “If not for Rain’s help, you can just prepare yourself to go in jail,” Lung scolds, as Sam stood offside to him, as Rain was to Chun Pui, across from them.

“Thanks Rain Jie,” Sam says, head down.

“It’s all right,” Rain explains, “But, I can guarantee you that, if anything like this happens again, you will be preparing yourself to go in jail,” she give her final warning, as she coldly looks away.

“Eve I can’t side with you this time,” Chun Pui scolds at Sam, “You should have thought of the consequences before you did something so extreme.”

“Don’t worry,” Lung promises, “I guarantee this situation will never happen again.”

“Okay, okay, we’ll drop this event,” Chun Pui acknowledges. “Now I have something I want to speak with Rain in private.”

“Okay, we better get going now,” Lung says, receiving the hint, “See you around Pui Gor,” as he leaves with Sam, turning in bitter silence.

Once Lung and Sam’s departure, “What would you like to speak with me about Uncle Chun?” asks Rain.

“Rain, I need to ask you for another favor.”

“Dad sure was happy that you could come tonight,” Michelle tells Raymond, looking at her can of pop in hand, as they stood on her apartment balcony.

“It was nice to see Uncle and Auntie again,” Raymond says, as he looks up at the stars. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen them, about two months.”

“Yeah, you have gone for some time,” Michelle says. “How is Auntie doing in Perth?”

Raymond grins, “Let’s just say, if dad was still alive, he’d have learned a thing or two from mom about his own business.”

Michelle smiles, “Knowing Auntie, she probably thinks that too,” then continues, “I miss her already.”

“Well, she said you’re welcome to visit her whenever you want,” Raymond suggests, “She treats you like her own daughter.”

Michelle smiles at the comment, “So what would that make me to you?” she suggests.

“Are you sure he’s innocent, Uncle Chun?” asks Rain, as she seats him in an armchair in his office, as she seats herself on a sofa right by him.

“I’m sure of it,” Chun Pui assures, “He may seem and act a little out of hand, but unless it came down to it, he will not actually put someone’s life at stake,” he explains. “And I know his dad, Fung, he’s one of my most trusted friend.”

“If you believe so, I won’t question it,” Rain assures.

“So, what did he say?”

“Yes, did he say he thought of you as his girlfriend?”

“Dad, mom,” Michelle groans, as she plops onto the living room couch, “Will you quit pestering me…”

“We’re not pestering you,” her mom explains, “We just care about out daughter.”

“Exactly,” her dad adds in. “You’re our only daughter, of course we’re going to be worried about your future. And that Raymond, he’s a man, he should bring out that courage and just ask you out.”

“Don’t you even dare mention it again,” Michelle scolds, as she site right up. “I can’t believe you and mom actually spied on us.”

“We weren’t spying, we were caring,” her mom excuses.

“I don’t care what it is,” Michelle says, getting up, “Just stop doing it,” she warns, as she walks off into her room. As she closed her bedroom door, she leans back on it and smiles silently to herself.

As she silently walks through the crowds in the bar and was about to make her way up the stairs, she slows her pace as something catches her attention.

She turns her view to the direction of a table near the corner of the bar, to see a guy looking directly at her. A few girls surrounded him, but he did not pay any attention to them, only took a drink from his shot and continued to look at her.

She looks at this guy, who was expressionless, wearing a zipped up, black, high collar jacket, and turns to head her way upstairs again.

“Uncle Chun,” she says, as she knocks on the open door, before entering his office, on the floor above the downstairs bar.

“Rain, you’re here,” Chun Pui greets.

“Yeah,” she replies, as she makes a quick scan of the room. “Umm… where is Edison Chen?”

“Oh…” Chun Pui starts, but was interrupted by a knock on the door. As he turns to see the person, “Here he is.”

Rain then turns around to face in his direction.
