“Yup,” Matt says, as he got out of the car and walks up to Raymond. “It opened not long after Rain Lee came back to Hong Kong. Though it didn’t open long, it’s actually quite popular.”
“Raymond,” a call interrupts them.
“Michelle? What are you doing here?” asks Raymond.
“Yeah, I thought both our departments agreed that we’d keep this case low profile, so we can close it quicker,” Matt adds.
“Oh, I…” Michelle starts.
“I said she could come with us,” finishes Mimi, walking up to Raymond, “I bumped into Michelle when we were about to leave, and since she was done her work, I asked Yau Sir if Michelle could come with us,” Mimi explains.
“If it’s inconvenient…” understands Michelle.
“No, it’s all right,” Raymond confirms, “Just as long as Yau Sir permitted it.”

“Is there something wrong?” she asks, looking up from their case file, as she notices his continuous gaze upon her.
“No,” he casually answers, giving a half smile. “Lawyer… Lee, right?”
“You can call me Rain, Mr. Chen. Chun Suk says he’s very close with your dad,” Rain replies.
“Okay, Rain, you can just call me Edison,” he says, taking her light smile as acknowledgement, before she busily gets back to the paperwork. He gives a grin at the sight of her efficiency.
Rain, noticing the gaze once more, looks up and questionably asks, “What?”
“Nothing,” was Edison’s same mischievous reply. Seeing Rain’s unsatisfied look, he adds, “It’s just that you seem to be very involved with your work, and…” he trails off.
“And what?” asks Rain, trying to hold her tone of curiosity. “If you don’t work hard and efficient, you can’t really expect to have a winning case-“
“Do you have a boyfriend?” Edison interrupts bluntly, “Have you ever dated a guy?”
Rain, flushed with embarrassment and trying to contain it, “I don’t think I have to answer that question,” she replies, coldly.
“Then I’ll take it as no,” Edison answers for her, giving his half smile.
“Excuse me, I need to use the washroom,” Rain excuses herself, though not needing to go, she decides to leave the awkward situation for the time being.

As they all walk down the halls, to Raymond’s surprise, he once again, sees the young woman from the hospital. She had just turned the corner of the hall before he realized it. He then quickly went towards her direction, but as he got around the corner, he saw no sign of her.
“Raymond, are you all right?” Raymond hears, as he turns to see Michelle’s concerned look.
“Yeah,” Raymond replies.
“Are you sure? You seem paler,” Matt says, then adds, “If that’s possible with your dark skin.”
“Oh please, say something worthwhile,” Mimi scolds at Matt. Then turns to Raymond, “Did you see someone we know?”
“No,” Raymond replies once more, as he turns back around the hall, “He should be just nearby,” Raymond says, turning a corner, with Michelle right behind him, as Matt and Mimi lagged behind.
“Raymond’s really working it up,” Mimi softly whispers to Matt as they followed distantly.
“Talk about it,” Matt agrees, “He told me to do all this research on Rain Lee, Sam Kwok, and Anthony Choi, and he didn’t even look at it today.”
“Of course,” responds Mimi, “We have combined departments on this case, we can’t stall it for a case that’s already closed.”
“Hey,” Michelle whispers out to them, as she signals at their lengthier distance apart.

He looks at the drawing, as he smiles and begins to work on the final touches. Just as he signs his name next to the drawing, he hears a commotion outside the door, and a before he could take a step forward, a group of police officers come walking into the office.
“Can I help you, officers?” he asked, though knowingly.
“Edison Chen?” one particular officer steps forward and introduces, “I’m Raymond Lam, sergeant of the C.I.D. department. We would like you to come back to the police station, and assist us with a current case that you seem to be involved in.”
“And I’m Mr. Chen’s defense lawyer…” a female voice by the doorway announces,” causing everyone in the room to turn around, “… Rain Lee.”
As Raymond turns around to the voice, he was only shocked to see the young woman from the hospital. What surprised him even more so, was that she had introduced herself as Rain Lee, goddaughter of Chun Pui.
“Sergeant Lam?” Rain calls out to Raymond, who was still in daze, not only to the notice of Rain, but Michelle’s as well.
As Raymond pulls out from Rain’s call, Michelle calls out as well. “Raymond? Are you all right?”
“Yeah,” Raymond replies, minor embarrassed by his actions.
“Sergeant Lam,” Rain tries to re-introduce, “I’m Lawyer Lee, Mr. Chen’s defense lawyer,” she says, as she approaches him and reaches out her hand to him.

Raymond reaches his hand out to her as he assisted them out of the questioning room with Matt. “Thanks for your assistance, but we might need Mr. Chen to come back for questioning,” he explains.
“No problem,” Edison responds, “You can just give Rain and I a call,” he says, acknowledging Rain with a half smile, as Raymond looks at them in discomfort.
“Yes,” Rain confirms, looking from Edison’s glance to Raymond, “glad we could be of assistance,” she gives a soft, general smile.
As Rain and Edison turns away to leave, Raymond looks on in their direction, eyes not leaving her sight.
“She already left,” Raymond hears a whisper by his ear, turning to see Matt, whom he had almost forgotten was there.
“What are you talking about?” Raymond responds, pretending to be oblivious to Matt’s comment.
“Hey, you don’t have to deny it in front of me,” Matt explains, “I wasn’t the only one who was at the bar when you kept starring at Rain Lee like she would go away if you blinked. Michelle was there too.”
“I wasn’t starring at her,” Raymond defended, “I’ve seen her before,” he explains. “And what does this have to do with Michelle?”
“Yeah, and I’m sure you didn’t know that Michelle liked you from day one,” Matt mocks.

Edison grins, “Seems like Raymond Lam has an interest in you,” he suggests, as he was driving Rain home in his sleek, black BMW 6 Series Coupe.
“Really,” Rain replies, not showing much interest to the comment. “If this case goes as follows-“ Rain starts, but was interrupted.
“Are you always like this?” Edison asks curiously.
Not knowing what he meant, “Am I always like what?” she asks.
“Always so…” he trails, trying to find the right word, then says, “… cold,” he finishes the sentence, but continues. “I meant to say, other than your work and Uncle, is there anyone or anything that you actually give any regards to?” Edison explains.
Rain does not answer immediately, but looks at Edison with some amusement.
Edison, noticing her reaction, smiles and asks, “What? You don’t have to answer, it’s just an observation.”
Rain gives a half smile, amused, “My observation says that you like to ask a lot of questions about my personal life.”
“I’m just trying to understand my lawyer,” he explains, unconvincingly.
“Well, here’s a question for you Mr. Chen,” Rain says. “Do you try to understand all girls this way?”
“That depends,” Edison explains, “if they are worth the time, he says, glancing towards her.
“Well thanks for letting me know I’m worth the time,” Rain goes along, “and the ride home,” she says, unfastening her seatbelt as they pull up by her house.
“It was my pleasure,” honors Edison, as he tips his head down.
Rain smiles at this actions as she got out of the car, “Bye,” she bids, as she turns to the leave, leaving her smile with him.
“Rain,” Edison quickly calls before she leaves.
Rain turns back around to his call.
“You know, you look really pretty when you smile,” he tells her with a suggestive smile.
“Really,” Rain replies once more, as she turns and walks through the gates. Noticing that the car engine was sounding behind her, and feeling that Edison’s eyes had not left her, she turns around.
She turns to see him looking at her through the open window. With that, “Good night, Mr. Chen,” she says to him with a soft smile.
Edison after seeing her soft smile, waves good night to her, as she turns away in amused defeat.

That very night, Raymond was at his desk in his bedroom, looking through all the information Matt had given him on Rain Lee. Unable to concentrate, he turns from his desk and recalls Michelle’s question to him the night before.

“So what would that make me to you?”

As he turns to the files, his attention was brought to a picture taken of Rain and Chun Pui.

“Miss,” he calls out as the elevator door closed between him and the young woman.

As he looks at the picture, his eyes focus on her. He looked at her picture in wonderment, for even in the photo, like all others, she still wore her sunglasses, leaving him unable to grasp hold of her.

“So what would that make me to you?” she suggests, as she looks intently at him for a response.
“Hmm…” Raymond ponders, as he smiles mischievously at her, “that depends…”
“Depends on…” Michelle asks, urging, but was interrupted, as her parents accidentally falls past the balcony doors and in on them.

Michelle sighs to herself, as she can’t help but wonder what Raymond’s response would have been.

Edison sits outside in his manor’s backyard, as he sways softly in a swing chair. He leans over a stop, looking down at his drink in hand, as he thought of her first appearance.

As he is drinking alone, with a few girls by his side, he does not give them or any others regards. He then slowly notices a young woman as she silently walks through the crowds in the bar. She did not speak a word, but as she turned in his direction and within that short moment before she turned away, she left her presence in place.

“Edison, this is my goddaughter, Rain,” Chun Pui acknowledges.

As he pulls away from the thought, he takes one last drink and leans over to settle his arms on his knees. He continues to sit in that position as he looks up towards the night-filled sky.

Working late into the night in her study room, Rain leans back in her chair, as she turns herself away from her work and towards the window, into the night sky.

“Miss,” she hears a call and looks up in the direction of the voice. She was able to have a glance of a fairly tanned man looking in her direction, as the elevator door closed.

“Sergeant Lam, I’m Lawyer Lee, Mr. Chen’s defense lawyer.”

Having mixed emotions, Rain tries to focus back on her work, and as she organizes her papers, she finds a piece of paper not in place. As she slowly takes it out, she finds it to be a small drawing. She picks it up to have a closer look, and realizes the drawing to be of a rather large ice cube. The ice cube seemed to be slowly melting from the corner where the sun was shining upon it from the side. Near the bottom right-hand side, she sees the signature of Edison Chen.

“Rain, this is Edison, Uncle Fung’s youngest son,” Chun Pui introduces.
