“Wah, are they still in there talking?!” Mimi says in disbelief, walking in from lunch.
“Yeah, I don’t think they even had lunch yet,” Lai Sok answers, just as Raymond’s office door opens.
“Okay, so we’ll settle it there for now,” Yau Sir confirms, walking out of Raymond’s office.
“I guess we’ll have to,” replies Raymond, disappointed.
“Don’t worry,” Yau Sir assures, patting Raymond on the shoulder, “there will definitely be a next time.”
As Yau Sir exits, Matt comes walking into the department, “Wah, finally done?”
“Do how did it go?” Mimi asks Raymond. “When is our next arrest?”
“There won’t be one,” Raymond answers, “Edison Chen’s case is closed.”
“What?!” exclaims Mimi.
“What happened?” asks Lai Sok.
“You and Yau Sir went over lunch hour to conclude that the case is closed?” bewilders Matt.
“The witness who had gone against Edison Chen is now backing out from being an eye witness,” explains Raymond. “And without him, we don’t have enough evidence to charge Edison Chen with being involved in the illegal trading on June 21.”
“An eyewitness can’t just back out,” Matt reminds, “we can charge him for providing false information to the police.”
“Can’t,” Raymond elaborates, “he is excused due to medical conditions, which claims that his report to us cannot account as evidence.”
“I can’t believe you can actually do that,” Mimi says in amused disbelief.
“It must be Rain Lee’s doing,” Lai Sok suggests, “she must have bribed the witness in some way.”
“And you guys wasted a lunch hour for nothing,” protests Mimi.
“Yeah, Raymond, you better get something to eat,” advises Lai Sok, “eating out of order isn’t good for your body.”
“This you guys don’t have to worry about,” Matt says, revealing a bagged lunch. “This is why I got back a few seconds late.”
“To get lunch for Raymond?!” Mimi says, shocked.
“No, not me, Michelle,” Matt replies. “I saw her just around the corner before coming in, and she knew that you were in a meeting with Yau Sir and probably didn’t have lunch, so she told me to give this to you,” he finishes, handing Raymond the bag.
Raymond takes the bagged sandwich from Matt and looks at it, before asking, “Is she still out there?”
“No, she said she still has some work to finish up, so she already left,” Matt answers.
“Wah… she’s already so thoughtful, and to think you haven’t even built up the courage to ask her out,” Mimi says in exaggerated disgust.
“Mimi’s right,” Lai Sok adds, “If you don’t cherish her now, it might be too late after.”
“Okay, okay, I know how to handle my own personal life,” Raymond says, changing the subject, “But right now, we have to focus on Edison Chen’s case.”
“I thought you said it was closed?” asks a confused Mimi.
“We still have to keep an eye on him for the next couple of days,” explains Raymond, “If he has any contact with our former eyewitness, we still might have a case.”
“How about Rain Lee?” asks Lai Sok, “should we keep a watch on her as well?”
Raymond, taking the moment, finally replies, “No, if they did buy off the witness, she would need to get in contact with Edison Chen, so he’s our target point.”

“Anything yet?” asks Mimi, as she re-enters the car and hands Raymond a juice box.
“No, he hasn’t left the bar yet,” Raymond replies.
“Think Edison Chen is ever going to leave that place?” Mimi uncaringly asks as she takes a sip from her own juice box.
“Who knows,” answers Raymond, as he then turns his view back to Midnight Bar’s entrance, then spotting Edison, “or maybe I spoke too soon,” he says, getting Mimi’s attention.
“How typical of guy’s like him,” says Mimi, looking in Edison’s direction, “always having a different girl coming out with him every night,” she continues in disgust.
“How’d you know, been following him,” teases Raymond.
“Oh please,” disgusts Mimi, “what else could you expect from guys like him? To only love and have one woman?” she says sarcastically. But before Raymond could answer, she quickly interrupts, “Hey, hey, hey, look, it’s Rain Lee,” Mimi says, frantically pointing offside in Edison’s direction, as Raymond turns in time to see Rain taking the last step out of her car.

Rain closes her car door as she begins to approach Edison. Edison, seemingly half drunk, does not take notice of her, until she stopped only a couple steps away from him. There, Rain does not speak a word, only looks at Edison, as he looks up towards her.
Edison looks towards Rain, but only to turn back to the girl accompanying him and kissed her. “You can go now,” he tells the girl, emotionless, as he pulled away.

“What do you think they are going to talk about?” Mimi asks curiously, “Edison Chen just sent his girl of the night away,” she watches as the girl walks off.
With no regards to Mimi, “Don’t know,” he gave a flat reply, as he continues to watch intently on Edison and Rain, receiving the attention of Mimi.

“Even though the case just closed, it doesn’t mean that you should or could start coming out and play around again,” Rain informs him in a formal, distant manner. “In the next few days the police will keep a close watch on you, and if anything goes wrong, it can easily go against you.”
Edison, from looking away, “I’m not one of your every other client,” he says turning towards her, “you don’t have to use the same manner talking to me as you do them.”
Rain, starting to contain her temper, “I’m sorry Mr. Chen, that is how I treat all my clients and you are now obviously no different from any of them,” she replies harshly, turning away and heading back towards her car.
Before Rain could step any further away from him, Edison quickly grabs her arm and as he turns her around, he pulls her towards him and kisses her, passionately.
