"Yah! It's my birthday today! Where's my presents????!" I fakely whined at Raemin, my hoobae.
"Neh?! It's your birthday?! Why didn't you tell me earlier?!" She gave me a worried face as she was about to get up and buy me a present.
"Haha! Nah! April fools!" I kept laughing.
"But...It's not april...right?" She gave me a blurred face.
"NO! But you should have seen the look on your face! Haha! Now THAT was priceless!" I cooled down.
"Raemin-ah! Do you know that it's my dog's birthday tomorrow??" I asked her with an amused face as she took a seat beside me at SM's Cafe.
"Your dog's birthday?! Is it a girl or a boy? Hmm, maybe I should get it a pink dress if it's a girl or a blue shirt if it's a boy..." She started staring into space as I burst into a fit of laughter.
"Haha! I can't believe that you...haha!...still believe me...haha!...This will never get old!" I wiped away my tears of joy as I clutched onto my stomach which hurts from all the laughing.
"Donghae sunbae! You shouldn't do that! You know I'm naive." She shot me a glare.
"Awh! You're such a cutie! I wonder why guys don't date you..." I pinched her cheeks 'til it turned rosy pink.
"Sunbae! Aigoo.. You're cute too!" She did the same to me but after that she half-slapped half-patted my cheeks.
"Well, you know, tomorrow IS MY birthday..Get me a present alright? I'll be waiting for it!" I exclaimed, this time it was true.
"You can't fool me again sunbae...I may be naive but I won't get tricked twice in a row!" She glared at me.
"Yah! I'm being real here! It's my birthday tomorrow! I swear!"
"Haha! You almost got me there! Well, whatever sunbae. I got to go. See you next time! And please, tomorrow is NOT your birthday.." She said before rushing off.
Yeah, and now I won't be receiving any presents from my favourite hoobae..Nice going, Fishy!
I took one last glance at the two fully-filled glasses of orange juice that neither me nor Raemin drank before walking away.
I came home that same night and laid on my bed.
"Stupid! Now she won't be celebrating your birthday with you! Bet she won't even wish you a happy birthday! That was swave, fishy! Just swave!" I talked to myself.
"Hyung, are you sleeping yet? Well, there's food in the microwave oven if you're hungry, I'm going to sleep now.." Ryeowook called out to me from my bedroom door while I acted as though I was asleep.
Morning soon came and I had a gut feeling that it wouldn't be as good.
"Hyung! I cooked seaweed soup for you! I'm going out now!" Ryeowook called from the kitchen as I came out of my room, stretching.
"Araseo.." I said as I laid on the couch.
None of the other SJM members were here(we're in China) and I was left alone at home with a pot of seaweed soup...What a GREAT birthday I'm having.
I dialled Raemin's number but she didn't pick up.
After trying for several more times, I gave up.
As I lazed around at home, finding things that can be done to fill up my time, there was a knock on the front door.
"Neh? Nuguseyo?" I opened the door, hoping that it would be Raemin but it wasn't.
In fact, no one was at the door.
No one except for a piece of paper crane lying on the floor.
I picked it up and unfolded it.
'Follow me!' It said.
I took a few steps forward from where the paper crane was at, and I saw a trail of origami, leading me up the stairs.
As I followed my way up, picking up all the paper crane, I finally noticed that it led me all the way to the rooftop.
In a daze, I turned from left to right.
The decorations were beautifully coloured, fishes hung everywhere from one end of the rooftop to another.
And in the middle of it all, stood the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.
My one and only favourite hoobae, Kim Raemin.
In her hands, was a big present.
'Happy birthday! Fishy oppa! My one and only favourite sunbae!' The sign behind her said.
As I strolled towards her, she gazed up at me with a smile upon her face, making her radiate.
I took the present from her and gave her a big hug.
That day, though the other SJM members had to ruin it by coming, me and Raemin spent a really good time.
We got to know more about each other and what's more, I kinda confessed to her...Though she thought it was a prank at first.
Later, she too confessed to me that she had felt the same way towards me, but she didn't want to make herself believe it, afraid that I might reject her.
We cuddled together under the moonlight drinking hot chocolate while watching the stars.
'Appa, if you can see us from up there, please give us your blessings.' I wished in my heart as I saw a shooting star.
That very night, as I took the liberty to open Raemin's present, I found a note that came along with a necklace.
'Donghae Oppa, I didn't know how to say this to you, but I like you. I hope you will at least accept this tiny present of mine. Donghae Oppa. My Everything.' It wrote.
I flipped the necklace over and indeed, engraved on the back of the necklace was the words, 'My Everything', the exact same title of the song that I sang, dedicated to my late father, during Super Junior's Super Show The First Asia Tour.
