“Gallen Gor, why are you still wearing that face?” Ada asked curiously, sipping her margarita “What’s the matter now?”
“I think I’m dead!” Gallen said matter-of-factly
“What’s going on?” Ada arched her brow and sat down
“Flora’s brother has just called…”
“How do you know?”
“Because I was the one whose phone he called to?” Gallen rolled his eyes
“Why would he call your number and not Flora’s?” Ada asked incredibly
“Well, apparently dear Flora left her phone right here on this very table when she went to the lady’s room!”
“Hmmm… It’s curious that they called you instead of me. I guess now you earn more credit of being her babysitter than I do!”
“Stop joking and start helping me Ada!” Gallen’s voice was grave “I’m serious!”
“Okay,” Ada cleared her voice and sat straight up “So seriously, what seems to be the problem?”
“Well, you don’t see it?”
“I’m slow,” Ada’s turn to roll eyes
“I’m not kidding!” Gallen sighed “They’ll kill me if they found out she couldn’t flight back in time for the surgery!”
“Don’t worry it’s not your fault!” Ada shook her head casually, but immediately upon recalling the previous event, she widened her eyes and let out a loud gasp “Oh no, it WAS because of you that she torn the passport!”
“Thank you!” Gallen said with a hint of sarcastic. “Tell me again Ada, who’s most likely the strongest influencer among Flora’s brothers?”
“I don’t know,” Ada eyed Gallen “in your state of health now, even a little girl like Kelly would take you out and down!”
“Ada” Gallen groaned “Stop playing please. I said strongest influencer, INFLUENCER!”
“Next time speak English Gallen. I don’t understand Greek!” She chuckled throatily and took another sip from her drink
“That’s it!” He took away the glass despite Ada’s loud protest “You’ve had too much of this stuff tonight!”
“Don’t worry!” Ada got up and grabbed back the glass with both hands “If you’re Flora’s love interest, she’ll protect you and her brothers will have to step over her own body before they could touch you!” She patted Gallen’s shoulder and got up unsteadily “You’re safe, buddy!”
“You’re so drunk, Ada!” Gallen shook his head and watched as Ada walked back to the dance floor to join the other three; the glass of drink was still on her hand “If what you said is true…”
“Why are you talking to yourself?” Flora wrapped her arms around him from behind
“Oh, you’re back!”
She leaned forward and reached for the phone “Oh no! Dai Gor called?”
“Yes, he called me too!” Gallen pulled Flora gently so that he could face her “I do think we need to act quickly and get you back there in time!”
“Only on one condition!” she lifted her chin playfully
“I know I know!” He made a face “I’ll have to stay alive, right? That works out splendidly because if you are not going back to the US, Flora, then your brother’s original quote is “Gallen, you’re so dead!””
She couldn’t help but laugh at his seriousness “You know my brother was just saying that for the sake of it, right?”
“I can’t be sure of that,” he pouted “I had to hold the phone like this” he extended a full arm length in illustration “from my ear when your brother declared that statement!”
“Which one of my brothers was it?” Flora chuckled amusingly “It doesn’t sound like Dai Gor!”
“I don’t know,” Gallen sighed “You have way to many brothers!”
“Regret?” she asked teasingly
“You’re not worried at all?” he asked incredulously
“No,” she shook her head and took a tiny bite at her cracker “I’ll call and explain right now! I’ll blame the delay on HOPE!”
“Nick won’t be too pleased with that,” Gallen chuckled “Not to mention that line won’t work, Flora!”
“Why not?” She flipped open her phone “Let’s try and see!”
“It won’t work,” he took the phone gently away from her “because I already told your brother the truth!”
“What?” She jumped up “You did? You you you…” she was at a lost for words “Ah, you couldn’t even make up a story? No wonder my brother was so mad at you!”
“He said he’s flying over here on the next available flight!” Gallen sighed “And the trouble is I still don’t know which one he is!”
“We need a safe haven for you!” Flora bit her lips “Let’s pray it’ll be Yee Gor. He’s always so loud yet he won’t really hit anyone!” She appeared lost in thought “I’m worried about my Mom though…”
“Stop it, Flora!”
“Why, you are scared?”
“Should I be?”
“Well you should!”
“Well, it’s worth it!” he breathed in the pleasant scent of her hair “It’s your family, and they are mad at me just because they love you, Flora!”
“They’re just mad at you because they love you too, Gallen!”
“What kind of logic is that?”
“Flora’s logic!”
“Right,” he laughed, and drew her closer into his embrace “Flora, if your brother hit me, would you stand up for me?”
“No!”
“No?” he pushed her a little away, enough for him to take a peek at her lovely complexion “Princess, you have no heart!”
“Well…” she played with an unruly lock of hair dangling from his proud forehead “Somebody steals my heart away sometimes ago…”
“But why did you let him do so?”
“Because…” she traced his perfect nose and tapped playfully at the tip of it “because he’s…” she stopped and appeared thoughtful “Well, I can’t really say it!”
“Why?”
“Because I don’t know!” She laughed and got up to join the rest on the dance floor, where she made a silence I love you sign.
He smiled.

[Hong Kong – Dawn break of the 71st day – Sunday]
[Street level of Fantasy Palace]
“Hey, hold on!” Kevin was fluttering his arms the way a girl would “So Flora, you won’t have to be at the airport at 7:00 right?”
“Of course not!” Nick chuckled “How could she board her plane without her passport?”
“Great, then I don’t have to wake up early!” Kevin said happily
“We’ll have to find a way to get you a new passport, and quick!” Gallen said thoughtfully
“It’s all because of you!” Nick said frankly “If it’s not because of you, we’d be at the airport right now!”
“Nick Gor, don’t be too harsh!” Annie chimed in “We need your help, not your criticism!”
“Well, I can’t think of anything right now!” Nick rubbed his face “But I’ll come up with something when I wake up! Argg…” He pinched his temples “I don’t think I would drive now!”
“I’ll drop you guys home!” Gallen volunteered
“You just want to find an excuse to drop your dear princess home!” Nick laughed “Admit it!”
“Hey, I’m doing you a favor here, Nick!” Gallen grunted “Or do you want to sleep on this pavement?”
“How could we fit 6 people into your car, Gallen Gor?” Kevin asked, and his question, as usual, was at total discord to the general conversation, and hence amusing all by itself
“We couldn’t, Kevin!” Gallen smiled “But my sister won’t mind taking you home, right Annie?”
“As a charity act, yes!” Annie shrugged nonchalantly
“Well, that’s good, we should move because I think Ada does need some rest!” Flora was struggled to keep Ada from falling into the ground “What did you do to her, Nick Gor? She’s never been this drunk!”
“She’s happy!” Nick grinned cheekily
“Yeah right!” Flora made a face “Do you mind? Slim as she might look, her weight has been getting on me!”
“Sure, be glad to!” Nick’s eyes glinted naughtily. Kevin snorted while Gallen laughed. “Let’s move everyone!” He rolled himself merrily down the ramp on the left while the rest took time talking and staggering down the few steps from the main entrance. They were separated by the parking lot by an exclusive winding driveway to the palace itself.
Vaguely the group could see something like a white utility van seemingly appeared from a side ally somewhere on the left side of the building complex. The vehicle was backing a little too fast…
Flora and her group of friends watched in frozen horror as the wheelchair got knocked up into the air as easy as if it was a feather. The metal wheel turned blindly in deafening silence…
