After waiting for quite some time, Edison decided to call Charlene and Vic from their rooms. Being with Gillian alone in the living room is really uncomfortable to both of them, as they didn’t know what to say to each other. Somehow, they were lost for words. After a few minutes, Edison came down again, looking confused.

Gill: Well, where are they?

Ed: It’s weird but they’re not upstairs and all their bags are gone!

Gill: *gasps* What do you mean?

Ed: They’ve disappeared!

Suddenly, Gillian’s cell phone rang and when she noticed that it is Charlene’s number, she quickly pick it up.

*On the line*

Gill: Char! Where are you?

Char: *giggles* We’ve sneaked out through the back door. Now we’re on our way back to town.

Gill: What? But…how did you guys go? Ed’s the one who drove us here.

Char: *laughs* Well, Vic is driving his car now! Thank Ed for his spare keys!

Gill: You’re kidding!

Char: Look outside to find out!

Gillian peeked through the window and completely freaked out when Edison’s blue BMW is no longer parked in the garage.

Char: *laughs* Relax. I’m just giving you more opportunity to spend more time with Ed. You better get your act together before it’s too late! The silent treatment won’t work!

Gill: Char! This is not fair! You can’t leave us stranded here!

Char: *giggles * Don’t worry! I bet you two will find a way to get home!

Gill: I thought we’re supposed to play fair!

Char: Think of it this way. If you two weren’t talking to each other, there would not be any fairness either right? I’m helping you to play fair, Gill!

Gill: But…

Char: *cuts in* No buts! My battery is low. Talk to you when you get back. Remember, talk to Ed! Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you when you lose Ed to me! *laughs*

*End line*

Ed: Is that Char? Where is she?

Gill: Well…she’s on her way back to town with Vic.

Ed: What? You’re kidding….how can they go back without us?

Gill: They took your car.

Ed: What? But why?

Gill: Well, Charlene wanted us to spend more time together and ummm….for us to talk to each other…

Ed: Sheesh! I shouldn’t have let Vic have my spare keys! *noticing Gill’s disappointed look, he quickly add in* Don’t get me wrong, Gill. I mean I like spending time with you but I can’t believe they actually left us here!

Gill: *smiles* Thanks. Well, guess we’re stuck here then?

Ed: I’ll call a cab or something….

Gill: Wait! Ed, since we’re here, want to have another swim in the beach? I’ve been so worried about…us… that I didn’t get to swim at all today.

Ed: *blush* I’m really sorry. I mean I’m truly happy being with you but somehow words are just all trapped in my throat. I don’t know why…*sighs* Guess you must be hating me now, huh? I just spoiled your holiday.

Gill: Hello! Of course not! But really, since we’re so uncomfortable with this whole idea, why don’t we go back being friends again? In that way, we don’t have to be tongue-tied around each other! Oh and by the way, it’s I who spoiled your holiday.

Ed: *laughs* Yeah, I guess we’ll go back to being friends. Maybe we’ll let nature take its own course then?

Gill: Yeah. If it’s fate then it’ll bound to happen sooner or later. So friends? *takes out her hand*

Instead of shaking her hand, Edison scooped her up and ran to the beach. Gillian screamed as he threw her into the water. Within seconds, they were back to their own selves. Screaming, laughing and yes, quarrelling too! After playing around for quite some time, they decided to head back home since it’s getting late.

Ed: I think my parents are using their car so we’ll have to call a cab.

Gill: Why don’t we take a bus instead? There’s a bust stop over there!

Ed: What? A bus?

Gill: Yeah, a cab is going to cost us a bomb. The bus is more economical and it’ll be fun!

Ed: *face crumpling* But a bus?

Gill: Yeah, don’t tell me you haven’t taken a bus before!

Ed: Well..I….

Gill: *laughs* What a spoilt brat! Come on! It’ll be fun!

Ed: Well, why don’t we just call a cab? I’ll pay.

Gill: *laughs* Chicken!

Ed: Hey! Who are you calling a chicken?

Gill: *laughs* You, of course! Can’t even go up a bus! It’s okay; you can take the cab home. I’ll take the bus!

Ed: Fine! We’ll take the bus!

Gill: *giggles* You sure?

Ed: Positive! I just don’t understand you, Gill. A cab is so much nicer than a bus, you know

Gill: How do you know? You’ve never taken a bus before!

Ed: Alright! Fine, let’s go take our bags then.

Gill: *winks* Trust me, you won’t regret it!
