Mikira wasn't at Kagoto High School at that time, instead she was at Yashimata High school, also known as the "smart students" school. Sora was her best friend, nothing got in between them, even if they target on the same guy, one would give in and let the other take it, though that rarely happens. Because they went to a smart school, their parents obviously were very strict as well. To the extent where they have to be home by 5 and no boyfriends allowed until high school graduation. Mikira was the first one to break the rule of no boyfriend, followed by Sora. Year by year, the two friends became closer however their personalities were changing at a dramatic rate. Whatever Mikira thought, was almost the opposite of what Sora would think, and at times they would argue for weeks.
One day, Sora brought her new boyfriend to school and showed it off to everyone, when Mikira saw, she was not just shocked but pissed. Mikira stopped in front of Sora's tracks and asked, "What do you think this school is? Leave your pet at home."
Sora shot back a glare, "You locking up your boyfriends doesn't mean I can't let me boys free with me, as a matter of fact they aren't pets. It's because of that stupid thinking of your's that all your so-called "pets" left you!"
Mikira raised her eyebrow and left. Though they never talked after that, they had agreed to go to a moonfest a week ago and friends kept their promise especially best friends. Both of them arrived on time to avoid unnecessary comments and strolled around the numerous shops held in the moonfest. Guyz hooted and howled at them when they passed by, both girls had worn fabulous yukatas. Mikira had a blue one with flowers, and Sora with a plain simple orange one. They flung their hair back and forth and laughed, they stared at eachother but paused. When they turned the corner, there it was a hot stunning guy, he was absoutely the perfect type, Sora ran over trying to think of someone to get his attention but she stopped, she needed to have some dignity. While figuring out some perfect plan, Mikira stepped up and introduced herself to the guy. Sora widened her eyes and stepped away.
Mikira gave Sora an evil smile, she never had an intention of getting the guy, he was not her type anyways. Sora grabbed hold of her hand and dragged her to a corner. She calmed down and asked, "What? What was that? Are you trying to piss me off or is that just a joke?"
Mikira laughed, "Don't friends always joke around?" She left after that reply and held on to the guy's arm. Sora was almost at her limit, she finalyl budded in between the two and managed to start a mini conversation. She started, "So what's your name?"
The guy replied, "Hiroki, you're Sora right?"
"OH YOU KNOW MY NAME? Kool."
Mikira added in, "I told him, baka."
Sora gave her a stare and tugged at Hiroki's shirt. For the rest of the night they strolled around the moonfest and stopped in the grassfields for the final entertainment, fireworks! As the three stood together admiring the fireworks, little kids were scattered among the area fooling with their own teeny fireworks. When Sora turned around, one kid had tripped and let go of his firesticks, Mikira shoved Hiroki and Sora away yelling, "Both of you move now!!" Sora turned back all surprised, she fell with a big thump, instead of landing on ground, she had landed on water. Hiroki managed to land on something solid and helped Sora out. Sora jumped out and shoved Mikira back into the water and yelled at the top of her lungs, "Bitch we're over, did you just do that on purpose? You think it's funny putting me and Hiroki together like that? Stop screwing around!"
After a moment of silence, Mikira held Sora's shoulder and pinned her to a nearby wall. She spoke silently like she was very serious, "You better stop screwing around, I didn't do that because I was joking, I did that because I cared, now let me explain. Did you know what that kid was doing, he was-"
Sora cut her off, "Oh right, now a kid? You shut the hell up, and take your filthy hands off of me, I want Hiroki, so what? But if you hate it so much, tell me, don't do these useless crap!" Hiroki stared at both of us, with a puzzled look, Sora walked quickly away. Mikira looked really pissed, she folded her hands and then glanced at Hiroki. Hiroki looked down and said, "You saved me from the kid right?"
Mikira sighed, "So you know? Why don't you tell her, now that stupid friend of mine is like gone!"
Hiroki paused, "Well she is your friend, it's only a little cat fight, right?"
Mikira nodded and left. Early next day, she arrived at school expecting an apology from Sora, instead Sora gathered her own pals walking away from her. Mikira gave a disgusted look and left with her own pals. Sora never went back to school after that day, Mikira asked around for news but everyone ignored her. She finally gave up and moved away to Kagoto High School hoping to search for news about her lost friend. After that moonfest, two very best friends had broken up and Hiroki had fallen in love with Mikira, she never noticed it, though today she can no longer escape from the truth.
*Back to now*
In her bedroom, Mikira flipped her photobook, admiring the pictures she had taken with Sora. She was very unsuccessful in gathering Sora's current situation, nobody knew her, it was like she never existed in the world. "Someday, "Mikira thought to herself, "I'll find her, and she'll understand my actions."
