I waited patiently with Sora in the airport. Two months have already passed since the car incident, Mikira has been gone from my life for about two months. We waited patiently for her arrival hoping that this time we see her, she's alright. Sora shook my shoulder when a girl appeared down the corner, she was Mikira. We waved frantically to see if her eyesight was back, she came over quickly and said, "I'm back!" We hugged her tightly, never have we been so relieved to see that her eyes have been healed from the incident. It all began after she was rejected by Hisato and she heard what Ketia said. When I received the call about my sister being hit by a car, I was devastated and rushed to the hospital.
From the moment arrived until the moment I left, I never felt so sorry for her. Love is painful. Hisato never came to visit her, only Keita came right away and then followed by Sora. Mikira was pushed into a room blocked by a wall with a window, all of us gathered around frightened awaiting the bad news. I could tell Keita was really scared, so I decided to calm him down then he started blurting out what happened. Me and Sora stared at him in disbelief and sighed, we knew this accident was due to carelessness in Mikira's part. What was most important at that time was she would come back to us safely. After an hour or so, the doctor came out, at first I thought nothing serious happened but his reaction changed when a nurse called him back to the room. Once he came back out, he slowly explained her situation and we gasped in horror.
Sora probably couldn't take the news, so she left right after. However Keita still stayed with his hands together as if he was praying. When I opened the door to check on her, I found her body covered with bandages and the smell of blood. I walked slowly beside her bed and place my hand on top of her's, "Mikira, are you alright? your big bro is here, I'm here with you whenever you need me."
She started squirming around and I asked her what's wrong, she replied, "I can't see you, I can't see you," then she began to rubbed her eyes. The nurses saw through the little window and rushed in, pushed me aside and warned her not to go anywhere near her eyes. One of them stood at a corner while the other one left.
Mikira got up then turned around, "Ryohei, where are you? I thought you're beside me!"
I quickly ran up to her, "I'm here, don't worry." Then Keita came from behind and sat on the side of the bed, "Mikira, it's me Keita. DOn't cry, it'll hurt your eyes." I could still see tears dropping down her cheeks. She tried holding them back but instead she started squeaking, "It hurts inside and outside, I don't want to cry either..is Hisato here?" Me and Keita looked at eachother frowning, both of us took her hand and sighed. She could hear us sigh, she flung away our arms and told us to leave. We had to obey her commands, so we shut the door gently and waited outside praying that she could see again. For some reason I felt guilty for not telling he rto give up early on Hisato, now she might be blind forever.
I couldn't take the stress, I stood up to find the doctor. Once I found him, I asked, "Can you save my sister? I will do anything, how much will it cost?"
"There there," he got out a slip of paper, "This is the form you need to fill out as her guardian so she can get a proper operation somewhere else."
I looked at it, the location would be in English, "How much?"
"Well that depends, first of all where are your parents?"
We talked for a long time, we had finally come to an angreement. My parents were very rich, but because of that me and Mikira moved out. They never had time to spend with us little kids, all they cared about was money management business. In fact my parents were in charge of a very big electric company in Tokyo, among the top in Japan. Money was not a problem at all when I told the doctor who my parents were. Just like that, Mikira was sent to England for her operation, I didn't know much about it except it was guaranteed she would recover.
I thought it was true when Mikira came back, I thought life was good, I thought Mikira could see properly again. We were walking past the washroom when suddenly Mikira said she had to go. She started running to the boys' washroom then Sora stopped her and asked, "What are you doing? THat's the .."
Mikira interrupted, "Oh yah sorry, didn't see that the sign was covered, eyes need adjusting. It should be around here then..right?"
Sora and I looked at eachother, the sign was not covered whatsoever, the sigh was in colours, she could not see it. Mikria could see, but she had turned colour-blind!
