BACK AT THE CHOI'S MANSION
[Seunghyun's POV]

"Seunghyun, dear, wake up."

"Uhhhhhhng..." I grunted on my pillow. I was dreaming about MiYoung and I going out when my favorite woman in the world interrupted it by waking me up. Nice timing, Grandmama.

I shifted in the bed as Grandmama sat on the chair facing the bed. I rubbed my eyes, and glanced at my alarm clock. 4:30 PM.

I groaned. "Grandmama, it's just 4:30! In the afternoon!"

Grandmama smiled at my childish reaction. It was always like this, whenever Grandmama or Grandpapa wakes me up, I would complain about waking me up so early when we don't have anything to do---

But they don't woke up for nothing in my age. Something's up. "Are we going somewhere?"

Grandmama chuckled. "You are really getting old, Seunghyun. Have you forgotten? Nope, you can't forget that, especially since we're going to the Park's residence and you will be 'officially' asking MiYoung's hand."

With that, I hurriedly hopped out of bed and went straight to the bathroom. AND IT'S ALREADY FOUR-THIRTY IN THE AFTERNOON! "Oh crap. I FORGOT!"

"I figured as much, with the Empire and MiYoung's 'would-be-horrified' expression in your mind..." Grandmama said while shaking her head.

"Thanks, Grandmama!" I shouted from the bathroom as I closed the bathroom door. I started cleaning up in the shower so I never said Grandmama's words outside.

[READER'S POV]

When Seunghyun closed the door, Grandmama Choi sighed and continued her words "...And she would be having a night she would never forget. Learning the truth, learning about everything." With that, she left Seunghyun's room and recalled the day she was saved by Grandmama Park.

[FLASHBACK]

Downtown South Korea in the 1920's. One word to describe it? Chaotic.

Streets filled with gangsters from all over the country. Men, young and mature, thick or thin, were found in the streets carrying sticks or metal bars. They were distinguished by their clothing. One group had an all-black theme, the other a bandana-on-the-head theme.

But one group dominated them all. The Black Anaconda.

Though they had no clothing theme, they had the best 'advantages' in town. They can barge at any store, steal anything from them, and say swear words at them without the owners getting mad at them. Instead, they bow and ask in shaking voices what would they want. They also won every confrontations with other groups, making them the notorious group in Korea. But it all changed since their leader, Park Joon, married and was away on honeymoon to a high-profiled lady that was overflowing with beauty and kindness that treated them as if they were family, that the gangsters can't make a bad move if their leader wouldn't instruct them.

So one day, or should we say, night, they all got bored and knowing that their leader wasn't there to reprimand them, they agreed to have some 'fun' and glanced around their designated place and caught a glance of a woman.

Not just any woman, but a very beautiful one. With matching clothes that wasn't made for a commoner that made every eye of every gangster present in the street where the woman was walking, turn into her. She was still walking like she was savoring the feeling of walking into hell's dungeon, but stopped when she was blocked by one of the gangsters of Black Anaconda. She looked at him, then turned the other way. She was also blocked by another gangster. She blinked and then tried another way. Still blocked. Then she started to run on any way possible, but was caught by another gangster.

Some luck she has.

For it was the same night that the Park couple returned.

They were walking towards the Black Anaconda's place when they noticed a commotion. They saw a woman who was being held by one of Park Joon's thugs, and demanded her money. They saw her shook her head and said in a small voice that she doesn't have any. The thugs laughed mockingly yet arrogantly, and one of them said that, "With your clothes fit for a queen, who wouldn't have money, would you guys?" Then they laughed again.

The woman slowly backed away from them, but she was stopped by the wall in her back. She turned to thugs and saw the manic glint in their eyes. She whimpered, and then one of them approached her and hit the wall while shouting at her, "Where's the money? Huh?"

She was about to give him her wallet and just run away when someone with a female voice shouted.

"YAH STUPID GANGSTERS OF THE BLACK ANACONDA! WHAT DID I TOLD YOU ABOUT NOT DOING ANYTHING BAD WHILE WE WERE AWAY!" The female shouted while hitting them one by one on the head, each hit by the female's hand was so powerful that it could have broken their heads.

"AH AH AH! OUR LADYSHIP, OWWWW---" The thugs groaned while rubbing their aching heads. The woman-being-bullied just stared at the woman-hitting-the-thugs like she just saw Buddha land on the street.

"PSH! You dogs, you will be tortured---" The thugs groaned, then the woman-hitting-the-thugs flourished a graceful hand to the man who came with the her who was wearing an expressionless mask on his face, though his eyes betrayed his emotions since he was busy glancing and admiring her, like a man who just saw his love of his life, "---by your leader himself. Right, honey?"

The man grinned and the thugs double groaned. Cowards.

Then the woman-hitting-the-thugs turned to the woman-being-bullied. She approached her in a friendly way and checked her body."Are you alright? They didn't hurt you, did they? If they did, I swear, double punishment."

"OUR LADYSHIIII---"

"Don't you 'our ladyship' me, you freakin SOBs!" She barked at them while they backed away from them. Then faced her again and asked again, "You okay?"

The woman-being-bullied nodded and said, "Yeah. Thanks."

"No problem." Then glanced at the street where gangsters of other groups where beginning to crowd at them. "So what are you doing here in freakin downtown Seoul in that clothing?"

"Uhmmm---"

"Oops, I forgot." She faced her companion again and asked, "Can we bring her home so that she can regroup herself, hon?" The man nodded and so she faced her again, "Group Protocol. We'll get you out of here. You're still a freakin target in this freakin sight and site. Come to our home and you can tell me everything, okay? I think you have a problem that's why you're wondering here alone, AND in that type of clothing."

The woman-being-bullied was about to retort something when, "Wait when we get to our house before you talk okay? Every ruthless risktakers in this country are present, so I wouldn't want you to be harmed in our hands." When she saw her not moving, she exasperatingly said, "I know you still have doubts, but if you must know, I'm Kwon Aya..." The woman-being-bullied's eyes bulged, knowing her since she was a famous model, "...well, since I'm married to that guy over there, I'm now Mrs. Park Aya." She pointed to the man who she called as the 'leader'. The woman-being-bullied felt her jaw dropped to the ground, to the woman-hitting-the-thugs's amusement.

"So, you trust me?"

And so they went to the black car, with the thugs surrounding and guarding them.
---
The ride to the Park's home was silent because of the fact that Joon had a lot of 'phone pals'. He would bark at them while giving orders, and stay silent while listening to his phone. Aya was no help to woman-being-bullied since she dozed off the moment they stepped inside the car. Maybe jetlag, woman-to-be-bullied thought. She heard Joon shout at his phone that he was indeed back from abroad and that the caller must do something about it quickly, which she didn't understand, so she just kept quiet.

Until they reached the Park's 'home'. It was built for queens and kings of the Victorian Era, with a body structure that sure withstands every storm and earthquake and heavy rains. Woman-being-bullied noticed few woods stacked in the garage area, and her eyes literally BULGED. Since Park Joon was the leader of the Black Anaconda, his 'home', or his and her wife's home is the headquarters of the group. The woman-being-bullied had her eyes on every gangster present there: teenagers practicing 'self-defense', young men huddling in a corner perhaps discussing tactics, middle-aged men both with beer bellies and with strong builts playing cards. Park Joon, who had turned his phone off, and Park Aya, who was awake already, glanced at each other and smiled. This would be the first time they rescued a 'would-be-victim' of the group, and they were both there to witness it. Sigh, a couple thing.

So when they stepped out of the car, the gangsters present stopped doing their things and gathered around them, suspiciously eyeing the new face, and bowed to their leader and his wife. Joon nodded at them while Aya returned their bow, so woman-being-bullied also bowed, imitating Aya. They walked inside the house, with Aya accompanying woman-being-bullied. Joon walked towards the left hallway of the entrance hall where a mouthwatering smell was coming to the hall. Woman-being-bullied sniffed the air eagerly, and her stomach growled. Aya laughed, so she said, "Here, uhmmmn, oh crap, I dozed off the car that's why I didn't had the chance to ask your name, which is...?" while dragging the guest towards the left hall.

Woman-being-bullied paced with her and replied, "Uhmn, please don't freak out. I'm Kim Yuna, but since I'm also a newly wed, I'm now Choi Yuna." Aya stopped on her tracks and said, "Really? Wow, I heard about your wedding. It was, what did the periodical said? Oh yeah, fantastically fantastic!" Yuna laughed, and so did Aya. They went into the details of Yuna's wedding after that, not noticing that they already arrived in the kitchen, filled with FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!
---

After feasting on the glorious food that the Park's chef had cooked for them, they went into time traveling and shared stories of their lives. They were fascinated by what fate did to both their families, yes, Choi HyunBae, Choi Yuna's husband included. After escorting Yuna back to her home, the Park couple met Yuna's husband, HyunBae. They both accepted the fact that he would blame them for Yuna's 'traumatic' night, so imagine their shock when the business tycoon of the elite Choi Empire hugged them. HyunBae wouldn't stop thanking both of them, while handling his tears. Yuna, who was witnessing the scene of her crying husband, bursted into a laughing fit. Then all of them couldn't stop laughing.

So, Yuna being saved by the Parks marked the start of the very close friendship between the infamous family of downtown Seoul and the elite family of metropolitan Seoul. That friendship was, truly, madly, crazily close that HyunBae, so in love with her wife that he was always so anxious whenever Yuna visits Aya on the Park's residence though he knows that they wouldn't do any harm on Yuna but to make all their lives simple, he on a drunken state mentioned once to Joon when they were having a happy hour while their wives were shopping, "I was thinking...of marrying our kids when they grew up. That way, our wives would be jumping in joy."

Joon stilled. He didn't knew about that. "Are you sure about that kind of proposition, Joon? I mean, come on, you're a Choi, and...I'm a Park. Would you really want that?"

"Yeah, I really want that. It's just...knowing my wife was walking in your area without back up is just...chilling to think about. And knowing that one of my kids would also think to be going there to, curiosity killing them. So..."

"...so if any of your family members do go there, you can always count on my 'company'."

"Exactly," HyunBae nodded. "But it doesn't stop to that. i can---"

"Oh no you won't donate any money, not a single cent, Mr. Choi," Joon said determinedly. Now he was awake from his slurring. "If you really want that, I can do that. But only because I love my wife so much. She wouldn't also want your wife, or you, or any babies hurt. It seems they
had bonded so much that they feel like they're relatives separated from birth. So I would do it, but not because of your wealth. I have wealth," Joon said proudly. "Only that I have it the dirty way." he said dejectedly.

HyunBae understood completely. "Of course. I'm sorry I thought about that. So, to our lovely love of our lives?" he said while letting his bottle of beer face youngbae. Joon contemplated, but gave in. He got his bottle of beer, raised it, and clanked it with HyunBae's. "To our lovely love of our lives!"

But unfortunately, the gender of both the Choi and Park's first child was a male. Aya and Yuna, who were thrilled with the idea of binding their families without malicious thoughts, were brokenhearted. Aya, resting in her bed, just had her child while Yuna who was standing next to her husband, had hers last year. They asked both their husbands, "So were going to have gays in the family?".

Joon and HyunBae replied, "Definitely not!"

"So what are we gonna do?"

HyunBae contemplated then said with a light bulb shining in his head, "I know!"

"What?!" asked the other 3.

"I was thinking of our grandkids." with Youngbae winking. Joon laughed.

Then Yuna started jumping up and down while Aya pouted, "Hey! I wanna bounce to!"
They all laughed.

BACK TO PRESENT...

[MiYoung's POV]

"Where's the bad news there granpa?" I asked while rolling her eyes. I was getting bored with this scene: in the Park family room, with Granmama retelling the story over and over again, Grandpapa just sitting by the windowsill and I lounging in the loveseat. The difference now is that I am now currently gripping the arms of the Louis IX chair, sitting tensely in my white chiffon dress. I was quite shocked with the dress Granpapa gave me since it's a Versace, but didn't told me why I would be wearing it.

Granmama replied, "I'm not finished yet. The----"

"Didn't you know? Mr. President of the Choi Empire would be asking for your hand tonight." A voice, deadlier than Granpapa's, interrupted Granmama's reply. "That's the bad news." It was my, ugh. DAD. *MENTALLY GAGGING MYSELF HERE*

But my hatred towards him didn't irritated me the way it usually does. Instead, I was irritated by the fact that, THE CHOIs WOULD BE ARRIVING ANY MOMENT NOW. "What?!" I glanced at my grandparents. "And you didn't told me anything about it? Even a warning?!" When they didn't replied, I annoyingly stood up and exploded, "AND ALL YOU DID WAS RETOLD THE FREAKIN LEGENDARY STORY?!"

Dad yawned, then detached himself from the post of the doorway. He sat on the chair across mine, glanced at my Granmama who was at my right, throwing him a daggered look while penting up her emotions, and said, "I told you, she wouldn't like it."

But Granpapa didn't like penting up emotions. "SHE WOULDN'T LIKE IT?! You, HeeChul, are the one planting that stupid idea ever since the first day we introduced them to each other!"

"Really? I definitely remembered her loathing towards him."

"LOATHING! What loathing are you talking about?"

"Really dad, you forgot?"

"WHAT FORGOT?! You ARE the ONE FORGETTING that MiYoung once idolized that young boy!"

Granmama and I, were lost for words. We were glancing back and forth at the two notorious leaders of Seoul history like we were watching a game of tennis.

"Really. So why did she threw that young boy out of her hospital room the day before yesterday?"

"OOOOH, you freakin' SOB!" Granpapa couldn't take it anymore and started to attack Dad with his iron fists while Dad was still sitting pretty in his chair when we all froze, except for Dad who probably knew they had arrived, when a voice said,

"Uhh, good evening."

Seunghyun. With an elderly woman who had her arm tucked underneath an elderly man, who coughed and said,

"We're sorry for being late. HeeChul was the one who welcomed us at the lobby and told us to follow him to the family room while we parked our coats outside and him walked here to warning you for our arrival, but apparently, he didn't so, we are sorry for interrupting---"

"Oh no, most definitely not. I did warn them, but apparently, Dad here overreacted." Dad fakingly smiled at them.
