My Type of Girl! [Completed]

Chapter 12

“Aww… love this place! It feels so warm and comfortable,” Rain exclaims, as she enters the cabin with Leila, Edison, and Ron following right behind.

“Thanks to Ron for lending out his cabin for us,” Leila reminds, flashing Ron a smile.

Ron returns the gesture, “Hey, I’m just making myself less lonely,” he jokes.

“Too bad Michelle isn’t here to accompany you, right,” Edison teases, as he set his backpack next to Leila’s.

“True,” Rain agrees, then noticing Edison’s backpack next to Leila’s, “Hey, you guys have identical backpacks, that’s so cute” she points out.

Ron chuckles to the comment, “If you find that so cute, why don’t you get Raymond to get a set for the both of you?”

Rain shrugs off the question casually, “He isn’t even here to spend-“ she says, stopping short, “To spend the weekend here with us.”

“Raymond said he’ll be here for sure today, he just has to finish up some stuff at work,” Edison tells Rain, reminding himself of his status.

Leila, knowing what Rain had intended, “Why don’t you go pick out the girl’s room, I’ll set things out here,” she suggests.

“Okey dokes,” Rain accepts the offer and heads upstairs.

“What are you up to, sending Rain away,” Ron catches onto Leila’s suggestion.

Leila smiles, “Edison,” she calls out to the daze Edison, standing lost in thought.

“Huh?”

“I want you to get Rain out of the cabin while we prepare things for her birthday tonight,” Leila informs him.

“How am I suppose to do that?” Edison asks, dumbfounded.

Ron laughs at Edison’s nature of the day, “Man guy, take her for a hike or something, you’ve been here before.”

“Hey, I claimed the bedroom on the left, the girl’s room,” Rain says, skipping down the stairs, interrupting their conversation.

“And just in time too,” Leila tells Rain, “Edison wants to go for a walk, you can accompany him, since Ron will be helping me out here,” she explains, looking over at Edison.

“Yeah, would you like to come,” Edison manages without stumbling on words.

“Sure,” Rain immediately agrees, grabbing her backpack from the rest of the pile, “Let’s go,” she heads out the door.

Edison, reacting with Rain’s quick reaction, grabs a backpack in the pile as well, and chases after Rain.

“How long will it be ‘til the arrival at Tin Seung,” Michelle asks the captain as he steers the ferry.

“At least another hour,” the captain gives an approximate time.

“Thanks,” Michelle responds, turning away as she looks at the time on her watch, reading 4:00 p.m. Not noticing where she was heading, she accidentally bumps into a man walking past her and causes him to drop an object in hand. “Sorry,” she apologizes, bending down to pick it up.

“No, it’s-“ Raymond assures, kneeling at eye level and sees Michelle. “Hi,” he awkwardly greets her.

“Hi,” Michelle replies just as awkwardly, then handing the light baby blue gift box back to Raymond, “Here.”

Raymond, taking it into hand, “Thanks.”

“Think they’ll be back soon,” Ron starts a conversation as Leila and him were setting out the foods and preparations for the get-together that night.

Leila, setting the food out, “Hopefully not before Raymond and Michelle gets back, Rain would complain to no end if they still didn’t show up by the time she’s back.”

Ron chuckles, “Don’t you think it would be rather ironic if somehow Edison and Rain, and Raymond and Michelle got together.”

Walking towards the back pack pile, Leila searches for hers, “I think it’s rather ironic that you’re putting Michelle’s name to Raymond’s,” Leila reminds, glancing up at Ron, “Especially seeing that not many guys would put the names of their girlfriend to another guy’s name, in particular his friend.”

Almost forgetting, Ron shrugs off the status, “I’m not sure how long Michelle and I will last, so it’s really no big deal.”

Leila, gently sliding her backpack from the other two on the floor, “You really can’t work things out with Michelle?” she asks, beginning to open her backpack.

“Don’t know…”

“Omigosh,” Leila gasps, looking inside the backpack then up at Ron. “Edison took my backpack with Rain’s birthday cake inside.”

“Hey, let’s keep going, we’re barely considered up hill,” Rain enthusiastically urges, as she continued to walk ahead, “possibly mid-hill.”

Looking at his watch, Edison decides it to still be quite early, “Sure,” he agrees, “but only a bit more, I think I’m not used to being out in the sun too long.”

Rain laughs aloud, “Maybe if you stopped being such a hermit and come out into the world in front of you!”
