“I was just simply suggesting a different approach,” Raymond tries to explain, as he tried to sit calmly in his seat, though finding the situation awkward.
“Do you know how much time and effort I put into this project,” Michelle, says, “or were you too busy with your social life to have even read it.”
Raymond, containing his emotion, “I don’t think you should be bringing two totally unrelated matters together.”
Michelle, upset and knowing she couldn’t do anything about it, turns to leave. Just as she looked up towards the door, she realizes that Ron had been standing there and had overheard her argument with Raymond. Not knowing what to say and too mad to say anything, she brushed past Ron and left.

“Hey Raymond.”
Raymond, looking up and seeing Rain, gives a welcoming smile, “Hey Rain.”
As Rain closed the door upon entering his office, “I just needed your signature for this file,” she says, handing him the file in hand to sign.
Raymond, scanning it over, signs it, and hands it back to her, “Here you go.”
Rain, slowly taking the file back, wanted to say something, but didn’t know how to bring it up.
Raymond, seeing that Rain had something to say, “Did you want to ask me something else?”
“Uh, no, not really,” Rain says, not knowing where to start, “Umm, I just wanted to apologize for Michelle’s behavior this morning.” Finally getting started, “She totally didn’t mean anything by that and probably didn’t even know what she was saying, it’s just that she spent a whole lot of time on the project, so…” Rain stops to catch her breath, “I’m sorry, I’m probably rambling right now.”
Raymond, holding in back his laugh, “No, no you’re not.”
“You actually got what I said,” Rain asks, surprised.
“Yeah, I know Michelle must have been pretty mad to have spent so much time on something and then having someone else alter it for her,” Raymond sympathizes.
“Okay, you did get it,” Rain says, relieved, “and you’re not mad?”
“Nope.”
“Okay, that’s good,” Rain says, “Well then, I better get back to work,” she bids, as she starts to turn around and walk towards the door.
“Rain,” Raymond quickly stops her.
“Yeah?” Rain responds, stopping mid-step and turns around.
“Umm… I was wondering…” Raymond begins, stuttering, “I was just wondering if you would like to be my escort for my parents anniversary party next weekend?” he finally manages to ask.
Rain, surprised at the question, did not know how to respond.
“You don’t have to answer me now,” Raymond quickly assures, “Umm… just whenever…”
Rain, seeing Raymond’s embarrassed gesture, “Sure.”
Raymond stops at the answer, “Sure?”
“Sure,” Rain answers once again. “Unless you were just joking,” she says, teasingly.
“No,” Raymond quickly responds. Then stops and laughs at his own nervousness, “So we have a date?”

“Hey.”
Michelle looking up from her file, “Hey Ron,” she greets as he took a seat next to her in the small meeting room. “I was actually looking over the files for our project and…” Michelle stops, noticing that Ron was looking intently at her. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah,” Ron says, a bit embarrassed by his actions.
Michelle, knowingly, “Or do you think that I’d still be upset over this morning’s argument with Raymond.”
“No, I just thought that…” Ron tries to explain.
“I get mad quite easily and am serious about everything I do,” Michelle says, “but I won’t let it bother me long, ‘cause I have other stuff to deal with.”
Ron smiles, “That’s a really good way of thinking,” he says admiringly.
Michelle returns the smile, “It’s a lot easier said than done. If I said I’m not at all still upset over the incident, I’d be lying.”
Ron then gets an idea, “Here’s something that would cheer you up,” he says, opening a folder and ripping out a blank sheet of paper, as he began folding it into a square.
Michelle, oblivious to what he was doing just sat there and watched as Ron continued folding away. As Michelle looked from the paper to Ron, she left her sight on him, looking as he was in deep concentration in the folding.
“Here you go,” Ron says, bringing up a paper made rose in front of Michelle.
Michelle looks at the rose in front of her, and then back up to Ron.
Ron puts the white rose in her palms, “I just learned how to make it, a friend said that whenever a girl is upset or mad, a flower always cheers them up.”
Michelle smiles to the comment, “Thanks,” she says, looking at the rose now in her palm. Then looks up at Ron, “Did your friend also tell you that a flower can make a girl fall for the guy.”

“Leila, you’re not even listening!”
“I am too,” Leila defends, though eyes still glued onto the computer screen, as Rain and Michelle sat gathered on her bed. “You were asking if you should accept Raymond,” she restates the comment, proving that she had been paying attention.
“And I already answered the question,” Michelle says, “no.”
“Yeah, except, you’re totally biased, ‘cause you have something against Raymond,” Rain retorts. Then pulling at Leila’s arm, “Leila, say something.”
Leila, finally prying herself away from the computer, turns around and clasps her hands together onto her lap. “I think yes.”
“What?” Michelle says in disbelief, “Raymond is nothing but a player, if Rain accepts him then she’s digging herself a hole to step in, and you’re helping her dig the hole.”
Leila, taking Michelle’s hand, “Michelle, you’re exaggerating. Give Raymond a chance, he may prove us all wrong.” Then turning to Rain, and taking her hand, “And you my dear, shouldn’t be asking us for opinion, we don’t have your feelings, we don’t know how you feel about Raymond. But if you asked us, that means that you want to accept him, you just needed some reassurance.”
Rain and Michelle looks at each other, confused.
“Yeah, I bet you guys never thought I could be serious about anything but daydreaming hey,” Leila says, proud of herself, “Now go, go, go, I have to finish my conversation, and you guys keep cutting in on it,” she says, shooing them away.

“Ron man, you done there?”
Ron, not responding, but continued to type on the computer, turns it off a minute after. “Yup.” Then turning his attention to Edison and Raymond, “So, what were you guys saying?”
“You need a life there buddy,” Edison answers, as he stood afar, looking at the crystal collection in Ron’s empty, colorless room.
“I don’t think you’ll be finding your escort online,” Raymond chimes in, tossing a magazine back onto Ron’s bookshelf, as he sat in the chair, directly across from Ron and his desk.
“You never know,” Ron says mischievously, “Besides, I already have an escort.”
Edison and Raymond both surprised, “Who?”
“Michelle,” Ron says casually.
Raymond, sitting up in the chair, “Are you kidding me? Michelle Yip?”
“Yeah, what’s wrong with that?” Ron questions.
“Who’s Michelle Yip?” Edison asks, continuing to admire the crystals.
“She’s my partner for our company’s combined project,” Ron explains, then back at Raymond, “Who’s your escort? Nancy? Myolie? Or whoever was your latest one?”
“I believe her name was Tavia or something rather,” Edison answers for Raymond, though not seeming to care, “but I don’t think Raymond would bring those people to his parents anniversary party right?”
Raymond, disregarding their attacks, “My escort is Rain.”
“Who’s she?” Edison asks, looking from the collection to Raymond.
“Oh, is she your new secretary?” Ron asks, recalling having seen Rain this morning.
“You got a new secretary?” Edison asked, clueless.
“You know, you can’t just change your secretary when you have someone in target,” Ron reasons.
“I don’t, she’s the only person I think I’m actually serious about,” Raymond explains.
“You know, it’s funny that those words are coming from you,” Ron taunts. “You probably don’t even know her.”
“Hey, neither do I,” Edison adds in, “Who is she, I don’t remember ever meeting a Rain.”
Raymond in response, “Maybe if you actually worked at the office instead of at home for so-called inspiration, you’d get a chance to meet her.”
“But I’m impressed that there’s someone that Raymond Lam is thinking of being serious with,” Ron acknowledges.
Edison, in agreement, “Yeah, I’m gonna have to meet this girl.”
