Leila smiles in acknowledgement, “I don’t really like being in such big gatherings.”
“Yeah, I know what you mean,” Ron understands, “If this wasn’t for Auntie and Uncle, I don’t think I’d be here,” he says, taking a drink from his cup.
Leila looks at Ron, “I’m quite surprise that you and Michelle are together then.”
Ron, not understanding, “What is that suppose to mean?”
Leila, signaling in Michelle’s direction, who was busy socializing with potential clients, “I always assumed that you and Michelle were both the ambitious type.” Then mocking her own comment, “Or opposites do attract.”
“You don’t think so?” Ron asks, looking at Leila.
“I think if you like someone, opposite or not, you like them, that’s that, it’s a feeling,” Leila explains.
Before Ron had a chance to respond, Michelle approaches them, “Hey, what are you guys doing here?” she asks, “You should be getting out and socializing with the guests.”
“Yes, I should do that, as a matter of fact, I think I will,” Leila says, spotting Edison still sitting by the mini-bar, “You and Ron have fun,” she excuses herself, leaving Ron and Michelle.

“I never knew that the girl you had been waiting to re-encounter was Rain?” Leila says, as she seats herself next to the stool by Edison at the bar.
Edison, alert by the comment, tries to brush it off, “Of course not, who said that?”
“Edison Chen,” Leila starts, “How long have we’ve been in Junior High together.”
Edison, knowing he couldn’t hide it from Leila, sighs, “Not like it matters now.”

“Hey,” Raymond says, gently putting his suit jacket over Rain, as she stood outside on the balcony.
“Thanks,” Rain acknowledges, though still feeling awkward to Raymond’s public announcement earlier.
Raymond, feeling Rain’s uneasiness, turns Rain to face him directly, “Rain, I know it was all too sudden, introducing you to my parents, and I should have asked you before hand, but I just want you to know that I am serious.”
Rain looks at Raymond, unsure of how to react.
Raymond softly laughs at his own lost for words, “I don’t think I’ve been so nervous around a girl before,” then turning serious once more, “But that even re-confirms to me that I am serious about this relationship. Can you give me a chance?”
Rain smiles, “Unless you can tell me how to say no.”

“Actually, it does matter,” Leila encourages Edison, “I’ve known Rain since forever, and though I don’t know Raymond that well, he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy Rain wants to be with. Rain needs someone-“ before Leila could finish, she was interrupted by Michelle and Ron approaching them.
“How come you guys are just sitting here?” Michelle asks, “You should help with hosting the guests.”
Leila gets up off her stool, “Well I knew you and Ron could handle it, so I didn’t want to make things worse,” she explains, looking at Ron, who had actually seemed relieved to be talking to them, rather than the could-be clients.
Before they could continue the conversation, Raymond approaches them, holding onto Rain’s hands tightly, as he brought their hand up, “Hey guys, Rain just agreed to be my girlfriend.”

“So you seriously going out with Raymond now?” Leila asks, as she slides herself to the right of Rain in Michelle’s double bed.
Rain, unsure, “I guess.”
“What do you mean, you guess?” Leila says, a little more concerned than should be.
“And why is Leila suddenly all concerned about Raymond and Rain, I thought you were all for the two,” Michelle says, as she slowly walks into her dark bedroom, taking her side of the bed on the left of Rain. “And you guys seriously have to start sleeping in your own room.”
“Yeah, well, I just wanted to have a ‘girl’s talk,’” Rain finds an excuse, “Like how you and Ron are getting along.”
“Yup,” Leila goes along with trying to steer from the original topic of Rain’s relationship, and curls up towards Rain, as she pulls the covers up high to her chin. “Never knew you were into guys like Ron.”
“What’s that suppose to mean?” Michelle asks, turning in Rain and Leila’s direction.
“See,” Leila gestures, pulling at Rain’s arm from under the covers, “You guys are so alike and yet so different.”
Rain, confused, “I don’t think I caught that. But I will agree Ron doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that you would go out with. Like tonight, he didn’t even bother to go and try to socialize with the business guests.”
Michelle, knowing what they meant, “Maybe that’s what I like about him.”
“No, no, that can’t be,” Rain assures, “the kind of guy Michelle wants, is a guy who wants the same success as she does.”
