i greeted softly.
"why did it happen?"
"what happen...?"
"don't act blur. about the engagement. why did it turn out this way?"
"because i don't like Toro and i don't want you and Pa to make use of him!"
i shouted. there was silence.
"where is Pa?"
i asked softly.
"he gone out."
"to..?"
"Guo mansion."
"for..?"
"To apologize."
"what for? Pa done no wrong and i don't think i did any wrong too!in that way, Toro will not be hurt deeply! if i agreed and get married with him, i will not get happiness and so does he! my heart and soul is with Ming Dao. what if he know that our family is after his money? if he knows, he would surely file a divorce and that would hurt him more!!! Toro is just a brother to me! love cant be forced! it would be very miserable! love needs to be two-sided. Ma, money can't buy everythink in the world.. why does you and Pa doesn't understand???!!"
"you don't understand! we need money! to me, money can buy everythink! including your love and feelings! you came to this world because you will marry a rich man and get money for us!!!"
"now i understand!"
i started sobing....
"now i understand! i was nothing to you...!!! nothing!!! just a tool for you to get money!!! i am utterly dissapointed with you and that guy!! i am no longer your daughter! i don't want parents that doesn't care about their child but only money! you are not my Ma!! the Ma i know is loving, she cares about my feelings...!! i don't a father like your husband!! the Pa i know is gentle, caring and doesn't want money to exchange for his daughter!! i don't have you two as my parents!!!"
i shouted as tears flow down, unable to stop. keys drop to the floor. i turned round facing the door with teary eyes.
"slap."
i held my left cheek with my hand.
"how could you say that?!!"
that guy said. i looked straight in his eyes.
"aren't i saying the truth?!! what for you apologize?! i and you are in no wrong!! Toro agreed to it too!!"
"slap."
this time on the right. i let my tears fall.
"sorry.. is it painful?"
he reached out both hands as he was about to touch my cheeks, i took a step back and ran out of the house. i was wiping my tears as running. i don't know where i am going to run to. maybe to the beach... i stopped after a long run. my tears dried because of the wind. i looked to my left. Ming Dao's mansion. my vision was getting blur. then suddenly, everything was pitch dark. when i woke up, i found myself in an unfamilliar room. i don't have to strength to sit up. i was trying my best to get out of the bed.
"thud."
i fell to the floor. i started sobing, then it get louder... i covered my mouth. the door was open instanly. i looked up and found Ming Dao.
"Ming Dao..."
i said in between sobs. Ming Dao came forward to hug me.
"what happen?"
he asked softly, while stroking my back to clam me down.
"i don't have a family... don't have a father nor a mother. they are not my parents. they don't care about me.. what they care about is money...what should i do..? i have nothing else accept you... what if you leave me..? then i would not have anyone beside me..."
i started to cry harder.
"hush... i will not leave you... remember you are my wife...? how would a husband leavehis beloved wife? i will always be there for you no matter what."
i hug Ming Dao tight, afraid of losing him. Ming Dao carried me up to the bed.
"don't worry about anything. go to sleep. nobody will come into my room to disturb you. i will be by your side. watching you."
Ming Dao smiled and kissed my forehead.
"sleep well, my baby."
i closed my eyes slowly. i cant sleep well. i opened my eyes.
"Qiao En, is there something wrong..?"
"i can't get to sleep.. can you sleep beside me...?"
Ming Dao smiled. he climbed in next to me and hugged me. just as i am about to fall asleep...
"Qiao En, you wnet through alot.. it's been hard on you. i will be our prince and your knight. so don't be afraid. just call me when you need me around..."
Ming Dao whispered near my ear. i went to sleep peacefully...i feel so blessed...
