(at night, Zoe arranged to meet Jerry in pub)
ZOE: (walks in) I’m sorry… I’m late…
JERRY: (smiles) It’s ok… you’re already here… (looks at her hair) Wow, nice hairdo!
ZOE: Yes, because I wants to be the most beautiful flying pigeon.
JERRY: (sense something) There must be bad news…
ZOE: Don’t get so worked up first. Emmm…… Fion had decided to marry Lik Hang… (Scrutinizes his face for any reactions)
JERRY: (keeps a cold look) Oh… I’ve expected it…
ZOE: Fion is correct wor… She said you won’t have any reaction…, and which means, you no longer love her…
JERRY: (emotions coming up) If I told her that I cried upon learning about the news, I can’t imagine what reaction she will have…
ZOE: (looks at his face again) Are you unhappy?
JERRY: (Fighting back tears and forcing a smile) Of course not! It’s a happy thing… Please pass them my congratulations, Miss Flying Pigeon…
ZOE: I really take my hat off you! You’re so poised!
JERRY: If not what can I do? You should respect a person’s decisions when you love that person… What I can hope is that she will be happy always… Don’t tell me I should hope for the opposite?
ZOE: You made me see the real meaning of ‘noble’… (Jerry forces a smile) There’s something I’m not sure whether or not I should tell you… (stutters) Actually…
JERRY: Just say it.
ZOE: Since you respect love so much, I’ll tell you… (pauses for a second) But… Promise me you won’t take it to mind…
JERRY: What’s worse than her marriage?
ZOE: Actually at first Fion just want to find some romantic feelings that she can’t get from Lik Hang… And using you to spite Lik Hang… But… She didn’t managed to fulfill the latter…
JERRY: (agitated) That means she’s making a fool out of me…
ZOE: (tries to calm him down) Don’t… get so worked up yet. Actually it’s because I’m selfish… I have some feelings for you… and so I told Fion to do this, so I can see you more… And, Fion is unaware of that… I didn’t expected you two to fall for each other…
JERRY: (Still angry) Then are you trying to make me like you by telling me this…
ZOE: (lost for words) Emmm…
JERRY: Please don’t harbour that thought. Basically, I won’t give Fion up. I will use the word ‘wait’ to describe our relationship. However, I would hope that she gives up on me… That will be better towards her marriage. One person suffering is better than two people suffering…
ZOE: You really don’t mind…
JERRY: Don’t be silly! It’s just sufficient to know that she had indeed loved me before. (sighs) Which couples have never lied to each other?
ZOE: Jerry Ah…
JERRY: (turns to look at her) Yes?
ZOE: I will support you all the way!
JERRY: Thanks, my good “buddy”.

(next morning, at Yip’s home for the aged)(A man sneaks up behind Kris)
STEVEN: (taps on her shoulders) Kris!
KRIS: (turns around and looks at him) Hey, you’re back from your 2 weeks holidays!
STEVEN: Yup, anything special?
KRIS: Emmm, nothing much. (Recalls something) Uncle Chan was diagnosed to have that Split-brain disease.
STEVEN: Huh? What is that?
KRIS: I’ll explain it to you over lunch. Your treat.
STEVEN: No problem. It’s always my pleasure to invite pretty girls for lunch. (Kris rolls her eyes and they both laughs)

(1.30 p.m., Donna’s restaurant, Kris and Steven just finished their lunch)
STEVEN: Oh, so it’s like this. I wonder what will happen to Uncle Chan… (sighs)
KRIS: Let’s hope for the best…
STEVEN: Emmm… Want to catch a movie after work? There’s a good one up recently.
KRIS: Which one?
STEVEN: I won’t disappoint you…
KRIS: (smiles) Ok.

(after the movie, 8 p.m)
STEVEN: So what do you think about the movie?
KRIS: (nods) You’ve certainly made a wise choice.
STEVEN: Of course! I know you better than you do.
KRIS: (looks at Steven) Emmm… Steven…
STEVEN: (Knows what she is going to say) Why do you keep rejecting me? You know exactly how I feel about you. Do you have a boyfriend now?
KRIS: (lost for words)(pauses for a moment) Emmm, I’m a bit tired, why not you send me home first…
STEVEN: (disappointed) Ok, but I’ll give you more time to consider…

PS: Looks like Steven fancies Kris... And Jerry can't forget Fion...But he is planning to... What will happen to them? BIG surprises up in the next chapter... Be prepared... looks like Zoe has finally put Jerry down... Will she be prepared to accept anyone else?
