(the next day)(on streets, after the movies)(9.30 p.m)
BOWIE: You want to take a bite?
ZOE: Emmm, no… I’m meeting Jerry.
BOWIE: (surprised) Jerry? Why are you meeting him?
ZOE: Your precious little sister lor!
BOWIE: Huh? Fion asked you to date him?
ZOE: (laughs) No, don’t misunderstand. I’m trying to be the go-between and help them make up with each other…
BOWIE: (Suddenly understands) Oh, I see…
ZOE: (smiles at him) Why? Are you jealous? Do you want to come along?
BOWIE: (smiles) I’ll drive you there.
(half an hour later)(Bowie’s car stops outside the pub entrance)
BOWIE: Ok, bye. Take care.
ZOE: (opening the car door) Ok, you too. (sees Jerry approaching the entrance) Jerry!
JERRY: Zoe! You’re here! (sees Bowie) Hi!
BOWIE: (raises his hand) Hi, I’ll get going…

(Jerry and Zoe entered the pub and finds a table)
JERRY: Is that your boyfriend?
ZOE: He’s Fion’s elder brother!
JERRY: Huh? They don’t look alike!
ZOE: You and Kris don’t look alike either! You never told me you’ve got a younger sister…
JERRY: You’ve never ask me!
ZOE: It’s this pub again, Jerry! Can’t you be a bit more creative?
JERRY: I’ve chosen this and that’s it. Perhaps that’s a habit, I won’t change it!
ZOE: I’m not as devoted as you. (to Tom) Give me a Blue Lagoon! (to Jerry) You two are really like Romeo and Juliet!
JERRY: Ha! What a description! But we won’t have such a pathetic ending.
ZOE: Then you shouldn’t have said all those things to Fion…
JERRY: (senses that something has happened) Huh? Is she hurt? I thought she was… Oh no… I’m carrying it too far…
ZOE: (sighs) I really don’t understand you two. You two love each other, yet one is quarreling just to vent one’s spleen, and the other is yet so keen on face-saving… And ends up making everybody unhappy…
JERRY: Zoe, actually I’m suffering in my heart too… All along, I’ve thought I can be generous and give her up, then she’ll stop being so troubled and I can stop thinking about her… I’m so useless… Zoe, how can I eat my words?
ZOE: I don’t think you would be so stupid not to realize my identity today here…
JERRY: (realizes) Fion asked you to come here?
ZOE: (sighs) I really can’t bear to see two persons so much in love with each other giving each other up for the sake of not letting the other party be hurt!
JERRY: What can I do?
ZOE: Depends on yourself lor. I think you two should have a face-to-face talk. Don’t keep things in your heart. Just tell her how much you care for her, how much you love her.
JERRY: You must help me!
ZOE: What I can do is arrange a date, a time, and a place for you two, then the rest is up to you! Cherish what you have! I’m so thirsty now… Where’s my Blue Lagoon? (walks towards Tom)

(At Jerry’s place, Jerry just returned home)
KRIS: (turns behind) Jerry! You’re back! So how did it go?
JERRY: (smiling to himself) Huh? What do you mean?
KRIS: (smiles and move closer to him) Hee… Don’t pretend… So you’ve got back with her?
JERRY: No, she asked Zoe to ask me out for a talk…
KRIS: Oh… That means you stand a chance! Buck up, Gor! (gives Jerry a supportive pat on his shoulder)
JERRY: Hope so! (mixed feelings emerged in Jerry’s mind, should he and Fion continue like that, forever? Definitely not, but he really can’t bear to give Fion up… Or should he hopes that Fion leaves Lik Hang? Is that too selfish?)

(morning, at Yip’s home for the aged)
STEVEN: (Pops out before Kris) Kris!
KRIS: Yes, Mr. Ma?
STEVEN: (takes out something from his pockets) Here are two tickets to a musical tonight.
KRIS: (lies) I’m not free tonight.
STEVEN: Why? Are you going out with your brother again? For goodness’ sake, that is your brother, not your boyfriend!
KRIS: (stares at him) Don’t be such a busybody. (seriously) Please, Steven, don’t keep pestering me, it’s impossible between us.
STEVEN: (smiles) Nothing is impossible in this world.
KRIS: (lost for words) Steven…
STEVEN: (begs) Kris! Don’t answer me so fast! Consider it over, please… (looks pathetically into Kris’ eyes)
KRIS: Do as you deem fit! (walks away)
STEVEN: (chases after her) Can I treat you to dinner today?
KRIS: But I’ve arranged to meet Louis to discuss about Uncle Chan’s condition…
STEVEN: Let me go along…
KRIS: But…
STEVEN: I was previously the in-charge of Uncle Chan, and we get along well, so maybe… we can discuss together…
KRIS: (pauses for a while, lifts her head to look at him) Ok.

PS: Fion is missing Jerry, and Jerry is regreting his actions... So, what will happen to them? Will there be further development between Zoe/Louis/Bowie and Steven/Kris? Read my next chp to find out...
