(At dinner, 7 p.m)(Kris walks in with Steven)
KRIS: Hi, Louis. Let me introduce, (to Louis) this is Steven Ma, my fellow colleague, (to Steven) and this is Louis Koo.
LOUIS: (shakes hand) Nice to meet you.
STEVEN: (shakes hand) Nice to meet you too.
WAITER: Can I take your orders?
LOUIS: I’ll have a lobster set, and a coffee… Kris? (signals to her)
KRIS: Emmm…
STEVEN: (butts in) We’ve have two fish ‘n’ chips, and two orange juice, right? (looks smilingly to Kris)
KRIS: (smiles) Yes, thank you. (to Louis) Louis, how’s Uncle Chan’s therapy going?
LOUIS: Quite fine actually, but I think there are some psychological problems with him, he seems unhappy that his condition is improving… Have you any idea?
KRIS: No, why is that so? (pondering over it)
STEVEN: I think I know the reason. (Kris and Louis look attentively at him) (he pauses for a moment) Uncle Chan has two daughters… (Kris nods her head in agreement) But they keep quarrelling with each other, especially over who to take care of him…
KRIS: They are both eager to take Uncle Chan home?
STEVEN: (looks at Kris) It’s just the opposite. They are both reluctant to take him in, that’s why they put him at the home in the first place, and then they made him stay on using the excuse that he is down with some psychological problems and needs special care and attention, so they left him there… Both of his daughters are quite famous writers, and recently the reporters got to know about their father in the old-aged home, and they made the excuse again when reporters probed why they left their father there…
KRIS: (angrily) What unfilial daughters!
LOUIS: And that is why Uncle Chan is in a difficult position? He is afraid that his daughters would put up a show in front of the reporters and take him home?
STEVEN: (nods his head) Emmm, he doted on them but he knows his daughter despises him for being a construction worker all his life and not providing them with a comfortable life. After their mother’s death, they seldom talk to Uncle Chan and later both decided to send him in…
KRIS/LOUIS: Why not we have a talk with the two sisters?
STEVEN: (jealous) Must you two be in unison? (pauses) Ok, I’ll contact them.
(After their dinner)
LOUIS: (to Steven) Do you drive here?
STEVEN: No, my car is in the garage.
LOUIS: (looks at Kris) Need a drive, Kris? (then to Steven) Steven?
STEVEN: I’ll send her home.
LOUIS: But I thought you don’t drive here?
STEVEN: (rebukes) We can always take a taxi!
KRIS: Emmm… I think I’ll go with Louis’ car…
LOUIS: (to Steven) What about you?
STEVEN: (disappointed) I still need to buy something… You two go ahead…

(outside restaurant)(Kris hops into Louis’ car)
STEVEN: (disappointed, putting on a smile, and waving goodbye to Kris and Louis) Bye.
KRIS/LOUIS: Bye. (Louis drove off)(Steven keeps a disappointed look on his face, and continues to wander around.)

(in Louis’ car)
LOUIS: Is that your boyfriend?
KRIS: Emmm… No.
LOUIS: He seems keen on you. (Kris keeps quiet) Do you like him? (Kris pauses for a moment and shakes her head) So do I have a chance?
KRIS: (shocked by his question) Huh? (looks at him)
LOUIS: Did I scare you? Sorry… (red light, he turns his face and looks at her) But I’m serious.
KRIS: But we’ve known each other for less than 3 weeks!
LOUIS: I don’t think time’s a problem… To tell you the truth, I have been in love with Fion for over 10 years…
KRIS: (taken aback) Huh? I thought your brother and Fion…
LOUIS: Yes, she knew I liked her, but she just treats me like a friend, a friend whom she can relies on… But I have never gave up hope, until recently… I feel sorry for her juggling between two men… and love both of them so much, I knew it is impossible for her to accept me… so, what I can do is to give her moral support, and a listening ear…
KRIS: (ponders over his words) Emmm… I think Fion must be really a very nice girl… that’s why our brothers, and even you… in past tense… love her so much.
LOUIS: Yes, I can finally put her down… (pauses) So do I have a chance actually?
KRIS: (smiles) See if there is affinity between us. (looks out of the window) You can drop me in front.
LOUIS: (nods in agreement) Yes, fate does play an important part. (stops the car) I’ll send you up. (looks at her)
KRIS: It’s ok. See you.
LOUIS: (smiles) See you. (drove off)

(on the other hand, Steven still wandering on streets)
ZOE: (spots Steven) Steven! (Steven in a daze and did not see her) Steven!
STEVEN: (turns around) You’re… Zoe! Hi, what a coincidence!
ZOE: Ya, why are you in a daze?
STEVEN: Huh? Nothing… just taking a walk after dinner…
ZOE: Dinner? Who has made our chatty Steven so distracted and down?
STEVEN: It’s a colleague, I was having dinner with her, and a psychologist… Who spoils my mood…
ZOE: Oh, I see… someone is jealous…
STEVEN: (pouts) Yes, I am in love with Kris, so what if I like her?
ZOE: Kris? (wondering) Oh, such a coincidence, I know a person by the same name, she’s Kris Yip… What is the surname of your Kris?
STEVEN: Kris Yip, Yip Hiu Bing… (looks at Zoe) Don’t tell me you know her…
ZOE: (breaks out) Yes I do! (ponders for a moment) Wait a minute… Don’t tell me that psychologist is Louis, Louis Koo…?
STEVEN: (shocked) Huh? You know him too? (Zoe nods her head) It’s such a small world!
ZOE: Oh… so Louis has spoiled your date…
STEVEN: It wasn’t exactly a date, actually they arranged to meet to discuss about a patient, so I just tagged along…
ZOE: (jokingly) Oh… So you’re the one who spoiled their date… (breaks out)
STEVEN: (agitated) No, they are not dating… (Zoe laughs at his silliness, and they both look at each other and laugh)

PS: Oh... So Louis likes Kris too, so who will Kris choose? The sincere and cute Steven or the charming and considerate Louis? Or will Steven switch his target?? Next chp is a relatively romantic and nice chp, hope you all like it...
