(At The Peak, Sunday afternoon, Bowie meeting Zoe for lunch)
BOWIE: (pulls out the chair for her) Take, a seat, Zoe.
ZOE: (sits down) (waiter approaching) (to Bowie) What would you like?
BOWIE: (smiles) You’ll decide for me!
ZOE: (to waiter) I’ll have a medium steak and a honeydew juice, and one chicken chop and a Latte for this mister, thank you. (waiter takes down orders and walks away)
BOWIE: You know my taste so well…
ZOE: (smiles) Perhaps. (thinks about something) I wonder what will happen to Fion and Jerry… It’s a hard choice for Fion… Lik Hang is good to her, and Jerry loves her so much… I wouldn’t know how to choose if I was Fion… What do you think?
BOWIE: (seriously) I would choose you!
ZOE: (taken aback and blushing)(diverts her sight) What nonsense are you spouting?
BOWIE: (looks at her seriously) I am serious. In the past I couldn’t forget Ah Yee because she was my first love, and I loved her so much, yet she… I know exactly how you feel about me, Zoe… And I feel the same towards you now… During the six months in San Francisco, I missed you a lot… And I knew I have fell in love with you without noticing it…
ZOE: (lost for words, still blushing) Stop kidding… I……
BOWIE: (holds her hands) Zoe, take my word for it. I’m 100% serious about you… (pleading look on his face) Please… Or do you mind the fact that I neglected your feelings in the past…?
ZOE: (touched, eyes wet) No…
BOWIE: (smiles) So that means… (Zoe nods her head)(Bowie holds her hands tightly)(Bowie takes a tissue and wipe off her tears…)

(The same day)(At Stanley Beach, 1.45 p.m.)
JERRY: (walking towards Fion) Fion!
FION: (turns around) Jerry! You’re so early too…
JERRY: (smiles awkwardly) I think we were thinking about the same thing…
FION: Which is enjoying the process of waiting for each other…?
JERRY: (smiles) Oh yes, you…
FION: (butts in) We will only talk about things regarding us.
JERRY: I’m sorry… for saying all those cruel words to you…
FION: We are even now… I didn’t place enough trust in you, and misunderstood you.
JERRY: (smiles) We have not tried chatting so happily for a long time…
FION: Yes, and at this beach again. But there are no shooting stars in the day.
JERRY: (smiles) Oh… during the day the shooting stars (Lau sing) fall into the sea (Hoi) and become starfish (Hoi sing)…
FION: (smiles happily) Really?
JERRY: Yes.
FION: I’ve never heard of this before.
JERRY: You trust me so much, this is a lie.
FION: (looks at him and smiles) I know, I want you to feel guilty lying to me!
JERRY: But my next sentence is true.
FION/JERRY: (looking at each other, and spoke in unison) I love you.
(They walked closer to each other, closer and closer, until their faces touch, and their lips combined as one. Jerry held her tight in his arms, and they began to have the most passionate kiss… a few minutes later, they break free and Jerry happily hugs Fion, and Fion returns a smile, closing her eyes and enjoying Jerry’s lovely hug)
FION: Practically thinking, what do you plan to do about us?
JERRY: We’ll take a step at a time.
FION: You’re so dispirited! Have you ever thought of me leaving Lik Hang?
JERRY: No… That’s not within my control…
FION: Will you be happy if I do?
JERRY: Yes, but I’m just afraid that you’ll be devastated.
FION: (hugs him tighter) Even at this stage, you’re still thinking about my interests… I’m really touched! We are really a perfect match, such a pity we met at an inappropriate time… Why didn’t you go to same school as me? If not we’re already happily together…
JERRY: (gasps) How can I answer you? Have we met too late?
FION: (jokingly) Late? The sun is still shining bright at us, there’s still a long way for us to go…
JERRY: Us?
FION: You know what I mean…
JERRY: As long as you’re still single, I still stand a chance…
FION: What does marriage mean? There can always be a divorce.
JERRY: Please respect marriage as a holy matter…
FION: I want to tell you… I’ve adjourned my marriage.
JERRY: (dropping his jaws) Huh?
FION: I don’t want to act impulsively, and get to regret it later on…
JERRY: (tries to control his overwhelming emotions) Then should I feel happy? But is this wicked of me to do so?
FION: (guilty and sad) I know… I’m too selfish… if you wish… you can leave me…
JERRY: Will you be heartbroken if I were to do so?
FION: (seriously) More heartbroken than you…
JERRY: I won’t leave no matter what, unless you think I’m a bother…
FION: Why would I? You’re so good to me… I really don't know what to do…
JERRY: Treat me even better… I can swear (lifts his hand up)… I will never give up on you; take my word for it…
FION: (gently) I hope your wish can be fulfilled… Let’s take a walk…
(Jerry holds Fion’s hand lovingly and they take a long stroll along the beach, chatting happily and kicking the waves. Occasionally he would strokes her hair and brushes her disobedient hair which are flying to touch her face)

(At a store by the beach)
MAN 1: Hey, look, it’s that man again.
MAN 2: Which one?
MAN 1: The one whom we met at Tsim Sha Tsui square with Fion…
MAN 2: Looks like their relationship is not that simple…
MAN 1: We’ll better not let Lik Hang sees this… (turns to see Lik Hang)
LIK HANG: Hey, what are you two talking about?
MAN 1: (tries to block Lik Hang’s view) Oh… Nothing…
LIK HANG: What are you hiding from me? (tries to push him aside)
MAN 2: Nothing, let’s go inside… (gives him a little push)
LIK HANG: (sees Fion and Jerry) Fion? Jerry? (trying to put on a strong front)(looks at the expressions on their faces) What’s wrong? Jerry is… Fion’s cousin… Don’t get the wrong idea… Oh ya… I’ve recalled I still got something to do… You two get going first la…
MAN 1: Ok, take care… (and leaves with Man 2)
LIK HANG: (calls the pager centre) Lik Hang calling. Tell the subscriber I’ll be home early today, and tell her to go home ASAP, I’ve have important matters to discuss with her…

(Fion’s side)(Still enjoying the breeze with Jerry)
FION: (Pager beeps) Who’s calling me?

PS: Bowie and Zoe are finally together! This is the 1st pair... Who will be next??? Oh no! Lik Hang found out about Fion and Jerry! How will he respond??? Will he break up with Fion, or will he pretends nothing has happen and spend more time with Fion instead??? If Fion have to choose, will she leave Jerry for Lik Hang??? Or the other way round, stay tuned until my next chp to find out...
