(At Stanley Beach, 1 p.m.)
FION: (walks toward Jerry) I’m sorry, Jerry.
JERRY: (Smiling) You’re not late, I’m early.
FION: (Seriously) I’m not referring to this…
JERRY: Then is what?
FION: (gasping heavily for air) Some decisions are really tough to be made… Perhaps from the beginning it is a mistake… Actually, you are such an eligible man, you need not be so hard on yourself… No matter how willing we are to part, a fact is still a fact… You must know, it was hard for me to come to this decision too… I’m just an ordinary girl, and I don’t have many 8 years, and so much youth to invest… I’m placed a heavy bet on Lik Hang, I’m quitting, sorry… (looks apologetically into his eyes)
JERRY: (looking down) Emmm… I understand… I can only wish you eternal happiness… if you’ve found out that you made a wrong choice, you can come back to me… I haven’t given up…
FION: (weeping sadly) A… Agree me…
JERRY: What?
FION: (crying and can’t speak clearly) Don’t… torture yourself…
JERRY: (holding back his emotions) I should be the one apologizing… I have made your wedding so unhappy…
FION: (still sobbing) So… What plans do you have?
JERRY: Give me some space to think… Perhaps I’ll return to Japan… I think I will leave tomorrow… Thanks for loving me before… We’ll meet if fate decrees us to…
FION: (throws herself hard into his arms) Jerry! (he hugs her tightly)(both of them are crying and feeling so much pain in their heart… Why? Why has the cruel fate played such a trick on them? They were thinking… Perhaps they could never find another person that they would love so much ever again… But reality is reality, Yes… They had to part)

( Saturday, 1.45 p.m., at Yip’s home for the aged)(Kris’ office)(Someone knocking outside)
STEVEN: (enters) Hi, Kris! Any time to spare?
KRIS: (looks up at him) You want to talk to me about work? (looks at watch) Emmm… I can spare you 10 minutes…
STEVEN: Why? You’re meeting someone?
KRIS: (nods her head) I’m meeting Louis, we’re going to Ocean Park, and also discussing work.
STEVEN: (disbelieved) Why do you need to go to Ocean Park to discuss work?
KRIS: Just combining work and leisure, and Louis said he has adopted a dolphin there, so he is bringing me there to visit it as well… Ok, what’s up?
STEVEN: Can I go with you?
KRIS: (Looks at him curiously) Why do you want to tag along?
STEVEN: Are you dating him?
KRIS: (stuttering) No… Don’t … spout nonsense…
STEVEN: Then let me go along, since it partially involves work too… And I guess it must be over Uncle Chan again… Unless… you don’t want me as a ‘light bulb’…
KRIS: (considers) Ok…
(outside) (Louis’ car driving near)
LOUIS: Kris! (sees Steven) Hi, Steven!
KRIS: (to Louis) Louis, Steven is coming along!
STEVEN: (bends a bit and smiles to Louis) You don’t mind?
LOUIS: (smiles) Certainly not, hop in!

(Inside the car)
LOUIS: (driving) Tell you some good news…
KRIS: (looks at him) About Uncle Chan? (Louis nods her head) His daughter have finally realized Uncle Chan’s love for them?
LOUIS: (smiles) Yes, and Uncle Chan’s illness is recovering fast, he told me that his daughters apologized to him and agreed that they will take turns to take care of him and fetch him home…
STEVEN: That’s good… hope that they can cherish their father’s painstaking love for them… (Deep thoughts)
KRIS: (turns behind to look at Steven, suddenly she could feel the strong emotions within Steven, his head is lowered, and his sight is stagnant, she knew that he must have gone through a difficult period, or at least have some unhappy pasts, he sounded so envious when he heard about Uncle Chan’s reconciliation with his daughters, at this minute, Kris felt that she could fully empathize with him… And she was so moved by that emotional look of him, suddenly… She has the urge to give him a supportive hug, to tell him that things will be alright…)(Speaks up gently) Steven? Are you alright?
STEVEN: (lifts up his head)(smiles) Yes, I am. (looks into her eyes deeply)(Kris looked into his eyes for a few seconds, and turn her head back)(Louis noticed that)

(Ocean Park)
KRIS: (looking around) Wow! There are so many new things here… I’d not been here for so long… (to Louis) Louis, bring me to see your dolphin!
LOUIS: (smiles) Ok, come with me. (Steven and Kris follows Louis)
KRIS: (approaching the area) The dolphins are so cute! Which one is yours?
LOUIS: (points to Willy) That’s him! (shouts) Willy! (Willy seems to respond by leaping in and out of the water, and swimming towards them)(Louis strokes Willy as it approach near) Willy… Good boy (Kris follows suit)
STEVEN: (a bit down) Kris, I’ll take a walk there, see you later near the ‘Pirate Ship’.
KRIS: (notices his unhappiness but was too engrossed with what she was doing) Ok, see you later. (turns and look at Steven leaving, then turned back)
LOUIS: (a moment later) Where did Steven go?
KRIS: He said he went for a walk and will meet us later…
LOUIS: (takes out something) Kris… This is for you…
KRIS: (Opens the box) It’s a dolphin bracelet! It’s so exquisite, thank you.
LOUIS: Let me put it on for you. (Put on the bracelet) It’s done. (Looks at her without moving his eyes)
KRIS: (avoiding eye-contact) Thank you… Emmm… let’s go over and wait for Steven… (Walks away)
LOUIS: (near the ‘Pirate Ship’) Why is Steven still not here?
KRIS: (looks around) Beats me. (Sees Steven from far) (Points to Louis) He’s there! (Walks towards him)(Steven is in a dazed)(Kris gave him a pat on the shoulder) Steven…
STEVEN: (turns around) Huh? (Looks at her foolishly)
KRIS: What are you doing here? Are you unhappy? You said you wanted to come along, but you are spoiling my mood like this…
STEVEN: (apologetic) I’m sorry… I’m…
KRIS: (cracks out) I was just joking with you… Are you really unhappy? Something is bothering you? (Looks at him attentively)(Steven told her about his past, eyes wet)(Louis saw this from behind) Sorry… to bring you back into your unpleasant past…
STEVEN: It’s ok… Actually… I’m really happy that you are so concerned about me… (Looks at her lovingly)
KRIS: (lost for words, turned around and sees Louis) Steven, let’s go… (Walks towards Louis) Do you two want to take the ‘Pirate Ship’? (They gave no response) Let’s go.
(5.30 p.m., still at Ocean Park)
KRIS: (smiling to Louis and Steven) I feel so happy today… Never had such fun for long!
STEVEN: (mood has changed for the better) Emmm, want to have dinner now? I know of a famous restaurant nearby…
KRIS/LOUIS: Why not? (Looks at each other and laughs)

PS: Fion REALLY broke up with Jerry, as she had told Zoe... And will Kris be touched by Steven's sincerity? But Louis and her seems to have chemistry too... Is Kris empathizing with Steven, or has she fallen for him w/o knowing it? Anyway, help me vote at the comments section after reading tis chp! Thanks!
