(At Jerry’s house)(The doorbell rings)(someone is outside)
JERRY: (opens the house) Emmm… you are… Steven? Kris’ colleague? Are you looking for Kris? She’s not in.
STEVEN: Huh? (looks down) Then it’s ok… I’ll get going (turns his back)
JERRY: (stops him) Steven… Come in and have a seat… I have something to talk to you… Regarding Kris… (Steven turns around and follows him into the house)(Jerry closes the door after him) Come, take a seat…
STEVEN: (sits down) What do you want to talk to me?
JERRY: (smiles) What is your purpose here today?
STEVEN: Actually I wanted to tell Kris that I will be leaving for Singapore next week…
JERRY: (looks at him curiously) Why? Are you unhappy with your present job? Or is it because of Kris? You’re avoiding her?
STEVEN: I think Louis suits her better… And I was offered a job with a relatively attractive pay in Singapore… And my aunts are staying there too… So perhaps I will be staying with them… (forces a smile)
JERRY: Do you know how Kris thinks?
STEVEN: I know she finds me a bother… I’m always pestering her… She is just sympathizing with me…
JERRY: No… (pauses for a moment) Actually she did mention to me about your childhood experience… (tries to empathize with him) You were an orphan… And since young you stayed with your uncle, and had to put up with his family (Steven is weeping) Are you ok? (digressing) Actually Kris and I are orphans too…
STEVEN: (looks at him unbelievably) You’re jesting! You don’t need to console me…
JERRY: It’s true, we were adopted by a couple when I was 12… And they treated us well… But we still miss our parents... They died in a car accident… I bet Kris wouldn’t tell you this, because this is a regret… a regret in her, or I should say, our life… I am always protective towards her, because I want her to feel loved, to feel that she is not alone… (Steven looks down) I know you love her a lot… But don’t blame her for rejecting you repeatingly… she feels insecure, because she thought you was frivolous at first….
STEVEN: (nods his head hard) No… I’m not…
JERRY: (chuckles) Relax… I know that… (continues his words) But after she saw the emotional part of you… She feels that you are someone who may understand her, and perhaps her soul mate… That’s why she changed her opinion about you…
STEVEN: (wiping his tears) Does that mean I have a chance? (pauses for a while) But what about Louis? He…
JERRY: You have to fight for love, Steven. (thinking about he and Fion)

(At Yip’s Home for the aged)
STEVEN: (goes into Kris’ office) Kris… I have something to tell you…
LOUIS: (suddenly appears from behind) Kris, can we go now?
STEVEN: (looks at Kris) Where are you going?
LOUIS: I am meeting her for dinner…
STEVEN: I’m sorry… She is not free today… (holds Kris’ hand and drags her away, out of the office)
KRIS: (turning back to look at Louis) Where are you bringing me to, Steven? Steven…
STEVEN: Macau.
KRIS: What? Macau? Why are we going there? Hey wait… (struggles to break free) What are you trying to do?
STEVEN: I really have something very important to tell you… it will concern your life… and future… Hop in (opens the car door, and Kris hops in)

(A beach in Macau, 7.30 p.m.)
KRIS: Why do you bring me here?
STEVEN: I grew up here… (pauses) And this is the place I usually frequent since young… I’ll always dream of being a psychologist and solving other’s problems… And most importantly mine… I may appear frivolous to you because I am constantly hiding my inferior complexity… Until I met you, I feel that you are a cheerful, caring and gentle girl, and I really feel very happy whenever I’m with you… Yesterday I went to your house…
KRIS: (turns and looks at him) You did?
STEVEN: (nods his head) Emmm… But you wasn’t at home…and your brother spoke to me about you…
KRIS: (nervous) What did he say? That Jerry…
STEVEN: (seriously) I am going to Singapore next week…
KRIS: (tensed up) You didn’t told me about it… Why are you making such a harsh decision? Will you be back?
STEVEN: (giggling in his heart, but putting on a straight face) I will not be coming back. My biu mui (female cousin) has been waiting for me to go over and stay with her family…
KRIS: (angry) Why are you telling me all this? I’m not interested… (turns her back and about to go)
STEVEN: (holds her hand and stops her) Sorry… I was just joking with you… (Kris gave him a stare) I was really planning to go over… but I can’t bear to part with you…
KRIS: Hai meh (Is it)? Then what about your biu mui?
STEVEN: My biu mui is only four this year. (Kris smiling) Sorry… but I’m really happy that you are so concerned about me… (turns her around) Give me a chance, I'm really serious…
KRIS: A chance for what?
STEVEN: A chance for us to appreciate the moonlight in Macau… for a lifetime… (looks at her lovingly)
KRIS: (smiling) Wait till you catch me! (runs away)
STEVEN: (overjoyed upon his success) Hey wait… (goes after her)

(The next day, At Yip’s home for the aged)
BOWIE: Hello, I am looking for Kris.
CHARMAINE: Please hold on. (calls Kris)
ZOE: (besides Bowie) Where are we going after this?
BOWIE: (smiles) Lunch at the peak?
ZOE: Hey be more creative…
BOWIE: Ok, I’ll change a girlfriend tomorrow…
ZOE: (pulls his ear) How dare you!
BOWIE: Hey stop acting like Fion… I’m beginning to have fear for you…
KRIS: (walking towards them) Oh… I’m here at the wrong time… (they chuckles) Bowie, you are looking for me?
BOWIE: About the case.
KRIS: Ok, let’s talk inside… (to Zoe) Take a seat, Zoe… your boyfriend will be right back. (walks into her room)
ZOE: (sees Steven) Hi, Steven…
STEVEN: (surprised to see her) Hey, why are you here?
ZOE: Waiting for my boyfriend for lunch, he’d gone in to discuss work with Kris…
STEVEN: Oh I see… (smiling to himself)
ZOE: (notices that) Why are you smiling to yourself… (guessing) Oh… Kris! You’ve succeed? (nods his head smilingly) Congrats! Then what about Louis?
LOUIS: (suddenly appears from behind) Are you talking about me?
ZOE: (shocked) Louis! Why are you here?
LOUIS: I’m looking for Kris…
ZOE: Louis, let’s talk… (drags him to a corner) Emmm… actually… Steven and Kris are together…
LOUIS: Huh? Are you kidding?
ZOE: (hesitating) Emmm… Steven just told me that a moment ago… (notices his facial expression) Are you ok?
LOUIS: (lifts his head) I’m ok… I’ll get going… (walks away)
CHARMAINE: Mister, you’ve dropped something!
LOUIS: (turns and Charmaine hands him his wallet) Thank you. You’re a nurse here?
CHARMAINE: Yes, I’ve seen you before… you’re Kris’ friend, right?
LOUIS: Good memory. (stomach groaning)(cracks out) I’m sorry…
CHARMAINE: (giggling) It’s ok, want to have lunch together? I can go now.
LOUIS: (smiles) My pleasure.
