(continues from last chapter) (still at Fion’s place)
FION: (comes back from her call) Where are we going later on?
JERRY: You’ve been on the line for so long?
FION: Don’t worry, it’s Lik Hang on the line…
JERRY: I know it’s him, there’s nothing wrong with you chatting with him for a bit longer…
FION: I don’t want you to listen to our conversation because I don’t want you to feel awkward… I don't know what to do…
JERRY: I thought you should be used to it…
FION: I know you always think of my interests… Every time you calls me, you would ask me if Lik Hang is by my side… But do you understand…
JERRY: Understand what?
FION: When you know of his existence, but he is unaware of your existence, don’t tell me when he asks me who I am having my dinner with, I should lie to his blatantly in your presence…? I don’t want to lie before your eyes, I don’t want you to feel awkward…
JERRY: Emmm, I understand… Sorry…
FION: I know my limits… I know you care about me a lot… But can you give me a little space for me to handle my affairs with Lik Hang? Ok?
JERRY: (smiles) Emmm…
FION: (looks at him seriously) I do care about your feelings… I don’t want you to be unhappy too…
JERRY: (smiles in an awkward manner) Why would I be unhappy….
FION: Your smile is so fake…
JERRY: (smiles brighty) No…
FION: (smiles in return) Whatever you say… (he puts his arms around her)

(meets up with Zoe)
ZOE: Fion, something is wrong with you recently… You always look absent-minded… Are you alright?
FION: (sighs) I can’t help it…
ZOE: I can imagine that… What you mean is that you cannot fall for someone, but you actually fell for him…?
FION: You are referring to Jerry?
ZOE: If not is there another person? You better stop playing with fire…
FION: Can I?
ZOE: (sighs) If I knew things would end up this way, I wouldn’t have taught you to use Jerry to spite Lik Hang…
FION: (feels confused) Jerry is really attractive…! He didn’t give me any pressure, but that makes me feel even more guilty… And let me feel that I should spend more time with him…
ZOE: (wonders) Is that a psychological tactic? If the answer is yes then he is really formidable… And he caught you with that?
FION: It’s not what you’re thinking… When I’m with him I can just feel how much he loves me, to a certain extent that no matter what I do I can’t catch up with that type of love…
ZOE: (sighs and feels sad) He is really pitiful…
FION: (guilty and sad) I know… But what can I do…? Don’t tell me I should break up with Lik Hang?
ZOE: Don’t tell me you bear that thought…?
FION: Suddenly I fully understand what one means by “ You can’t have the best of both worlds”… I think we three should remain like this for the time being…
ZOE: Is it possible to tell which one you love more…
FION: (laughs with an unbelievable look) You are joking! If I knew I wouldn’t be so troubled…
ZOE: Think about it, you really can’t bear to leave either of them…
FION: I wish I could…
ZOE: (hidden meaning) Or perhaps you feelings for Jerry is just temporary passion…
FION: We both knows it…
ZOE: Then I can only chat with you more to help you lor…
FION: That would be the best! It’s my fault for being so fickle-minded…
ZOE: If I were you I believe I’ll take the same decision as you… Jerry is so charming… (envy look)
FION: (Observing her look on face) Ha… I sometimes really suspect you are in love with Jerry…
ZOE: Ya, I’m in love with Lik Hang too…
FION: (jokingly) I’ll give both of them to you, then I won’t be so troubled… (laughs)
(they laughs and continues to chat for an hour)

(At Jerry’s place) (7.30 p.m)
JERRY: (calls the pager centre) Jerry calling. Tell her I’ve prepared the dishes and tell her to come here ASAP or the dishes are getting cold… Thank you…
(8.30 p.m)(he waited for an hour but there is still no reply, then suddenly the telephone rings)
JERRY: (excited) Fion? (disappointed again) Sorry, wrong number… (continues to wait at home, sitting on the sofa, thinking about what might have happened and worried that something bad might occurred…)
(one and a half hour later, 10.00 p.m, he is getting impatient)
JERRY: (in an angry tone) I won’t wait anymore! (walks out)

(Zoe’s place) (telephones ring)
ZOE: (in a lazy tone) Hello…
FION: (uptight) Zoe?
ZOE: (Teasing her)I thought you’re supposed to be with Jerry to celebrate your 3 month’s anniversary… Why are you calling me?
FION: Lik Hang is not feeling well, I need to accompany him to the hospital…
ZOE: (taken aback) Huh? What about Jerry?
FION: (pretends) Oh… Yes, I’m sorry… We’ll meet another day… Lik Hang is by my side… I’ll be taking care of him…
ZOE: (suddenly realizes what is going on) Oh… So you are making use of me… Do you want me to inform Jerry for you?
FION: Of course! Then why am I calling you? Ok, that’s it. Bye.
ZOE: (in a lazy tone) Bye… (hangs up) (calls Jerry immediately) Hello… Jerry?
JERRY: (in a nonchalant tone) Hello…
ZOE: Zoe here.
JERRY: (continues to be nonchalant) What’s the matter?
ZOE: Why are you sounding like that?
JERRY: I’ve waited for Fion for more than 3 hours! I’ve no more feelings now… She asked you to call me?
ZOE: Bingo!
JERRY: She can’t make it?
ZOE: (worried about his feelings) Hear me out first… Lik Hang is not feeling well, and… Fion…
JERRY: Needs to bring him to a doctor, right?
ZOE: Emmm, she is taking him to the hospital...
JERRY: (contains some unhappiness and jealousy) If I’m sick, who will attend to me?
ZOE: (consoles him) Don’t be like this la… Fion also don’t want things to happen this way… I thought you are always considerate and acts in her best interest… Why are you so angry now?
JERRY: (sighs) Today is a special day…
ZOE: (sighs too) Too bad Lik Hang has to fall sick today…
JERRY: What more do she have to tell me?
ZOE: Emmm, I think it’s better for her to tell you herself… I won’t pass mushy messages… I think she’ll call you later…
JERRY: What will happen to my dishes?
ZOE: I’ve already have a date with someone.
JERRY: You’re great la… You think anybody can have a taste of my culinary skills meh?
ZOE: Ok, then you’ll have to finish them yourself… Bye… (hangs up)
(Jerry walks out)

PS: Oh no!!! Jerry is really angry with Fion this time!!! Will they break up? Will Jerry meet someone else? Does Zoe like Jerry? Is Fion more concern about Lik Hang then Jerry... Or izzit like what Zoe've said, Fion's feelings for Jerry is just a temporary passion and stimulus???
