“I’m sorry; I didn’t notice it fell from my pocket!” Hyukjae whispered to KiBum. “It’s too late for your sorries, she got it already.” KiBum said as he glared to Hyukjae. “Man, I said I’m sorry.” Hyukjae insisted.
“Who was EunHyuk?” Jinho asked you. “A friend of mine... but we call him Hyukjae...” you replied. “I see and what was that doing here?” Jinho asked. “I know you know the answer.” you replied and started walking again.
The two from behind the tree let go of a heavy sigh. “Good heavens she didn’t bother to look for us.” Hyukjae said in relief. “Yeah, but as soon as we step in the mansion, I know questions will be thrown towards us.” KiBum said.
As you reached the mansion, you both entered without saying anything. “Where did you go?” Aunt Emily asked. “We just walked around, Mom.” Jinho replied. “I see.” she said and walked again. As she was going to step on the staircase, someone from the kitchen shouted. It was Dianne’s co-maid.
The three of you ran immediately from where the noise came from. As Aunt Emily opened the door, you saw your grandpa lying at the maid’s lap, breathing so hard. You ran towards him. “Grandpa! What’s happening?” you asked worriedly. “He hardly breathes.” the maid answered. “I’ll go get his medicines.” Jinho said. “No, I’ll take it. Auntie, where is it?” you asked.
“I think it’s in his library... on top of this table.” Aunt Emily answered. “Okay, I’ll get it.” you said and run immediately. You ran upstairs and entered your grandfather’s room. You went straight to the library and searched on top of his table. You saw a small bottle with half full of tablets. You picked it but then, something caught your attention.
It was your grandpa’s diary, with a half seen picture of a girl probably between four to five years old. It has a note behind which was clearly written about thirteen to fourteen years ago. You took the picture from the diary and hid it on your pocket. You went out of the room immediately and run to the kitchen.
“Here’s his medicine.” you said as you handed the bottle to your auntie. Jinho and the maid helped him sit down on the chair as your auntie gets water and one capsule. She then gave it to your grandfather for him to drink. After a few minutes, he then became calm.
“Father, are you feeling better now?” she asked. “Yeah, much better.” he replied. “What happened?” Jinho asked. “I just became tired of walking this morning.... but I’m fine now, thanks for your help, Jinho, ~~~~~ and Emily. (Eh? No credits for the maid?!!)
You bowed a little bit your head and said “I’ll be going upstairs now, Grandpa.” “Okay, thanks again.” he answered slowly. You walked out of the kitchen and went to your room. You sat down on the balcony and took the picture from your pocket. You looked at it as if you are looking to someone you know from the past.
Then, you turned the photo around and read the message.
“Dear Grandpa, I may never see your face again... I’m sorry if mom and dad have caused you troubles. And also, I want to say I love you and thank you for taking care of me. I love you so much, grandpa. Loving always, SaeJin.” you read.
“SaeJin?” you asked. “She’s grandpa’s TRUE granddaughter.” Jinho said. “Jinho...” you replied in surprised. “Since when did you get here?” you asked. “Long enough to hear you read that message.” Jinho answered.
“Who am I?” you asked. “You’re ~~~~~. LOLZ.” he answered. “No kidding.” you said seriously. “Okay, fine. You’re my cousin.” he said. “Really?” you asked. “Yeah.” he answered. “Then who is this girl?” I though there’s only two grandchildren grandpa haves.” you said. “I don’t know.” Jinho answered.
“Tell me, what you know?” you said seriously. “It’s better if grandpa will be the one telling you that.” Jinho said. “Answer me.” you insisted. “I said it’s better if you can hear that from grandpa! GOT IT?!” he shouted.
“What’s happening here?” Aunt Emily asked. “Mom, nothing.” “Who is she?” you asked as you showed the picture.
Aunt Emily was surprised when she saw the picture. “Wh-where did you get that?” she asked with a trembling voice. “I saw it from grandpa’s diary.” you replied. “Who is she? And... who really am I?” you asked.
Aunt Emily sighed heavily.
