“Okay class, you all may go home now. The teacher said.
“Goodbye lao shi!” The class said.
They all left the room except for the three girls. The two girls were looking at Hebe, who was looking out the window. Suddenly, a tear dropped from Hebe’s eyes.
“Hebe, don’t cry.” The long-haired girl said.
“Sel-ina, How—can—I —not —cry?” Hebe said between sobs.
“Hebe, be strong. We will still see each other again, right?” The boyish girl said.
“El-la, Ho-w—can—we—se-e –each—oth-er—ag-ain?” Hebe asked.
“We will. I know that.” Ella said. Selina’s and Ella’s eyes are forming tears.
“Ella!! How???!! I’m not only moving to another place, Ella!!! I’m going to AMERICA!!” Hebe questioned full of hurt and still crying.
“Hebe, calm down.” Selina cannot help but cry when she heard Hebe.
“Hebe, WE WILL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN! DO YOU HEAR ME?” Ella said.
“But---.”
“Hebe, believe in us. Pinky swear?” Selina said.
“Pinky swear.” Hebe said with a smile.
Selina and Hebe exchanged hugs.
“Ella, I’m sorry.”
“Hebe, it’s okay. I know you’re just unhappy. Promise that you will come back again.” Ella said.
“I promise.” Hebe said then she hugged Ella. Selina joined in.
End of Flashback**
“I really miss them. I’m so glad that I will see them again. I sent an email to both of them to inform them that I’m going back and that I have kept my promise. I wonder… What do they look like, now that we’re all 16? I think it would be a surprise.” Hebe thought.
“We’re here Mademoiselles.” The driver said.
“Darling, we’re here.” Hebe’s mother said.
Hebe snapped out of her daydreaming.
“Oh. Right.” Hebe said then smiled at her mother.
The chauffeur opened her mother’s door first then Hebe’s.
“Darling, be good. Don’t break rules. Wear your stylish and sophisticated clothes.” Hebe’s mother said.
“Mom, I—“
“Remember, darling, you are the only daughter, child and successor of the Tian corporation. You need to observe proper way of dressing. No body would like to see the daughter of one of the wealthiest and well-known family dressed in a plain shirt and baggy pants do they?” Hebe’s mother stated.
“Yes mom.” Hebe answered sadly.
A phone rang.
“Mom. Your phone is ringing.” Hebe said.
“Oh! How silly of me!” Hebe’s mother answered the call.
“Mrs. Tian here.”
“Yes, dear.”
“I will be on my way then.”
“Yes dear I will.”
“Ok. Bye! See you later. Love you.”
Hebe’s mother closed her phone and the turned to Hebe.
“Darling, Dad says that he’s sorry that he’s not here to send you off. And he wishes for a safe trip for his most precious treasure.” Hebe’s mother said.
“Oh Mom! Tell Dad that I got his message and I will have a safe trip and that I love him very much.” Hebe was happy that both her parents cared for her.
“Oh darling. I gotta go! Call me when you get there!” Hebe’s mother said.
“I will mom. I will.” Hebe said.
Hebe’s mother went inside the car then sped away. Hebe stopped waving then signalled the chauffeur of an expensive car to go to her. He obeyed. An old man around his fifties got out of the car. He was holding another luggage bag and a plastic bag.
“Charles! Thank you very much! I owe you!” Hebe said blissfully.
Charles was Hebe’s chauffer since she was small. She treats him like her uncle.
“Dear child, it’s my pleasure to serve you.” Charles said with a smile.
“I will miss you.” Hebe said.
“Me too.” Charles said then left.
Hebe went inside the airport then checked in at the counter. She was in the waiting area, holding her bag and the plastic bag. She went to the restroom and changed from stylish clothes to casual clothes. Then she tied her hair into a ponytail. She smiled at herself while looking at the mirror. Hebe’s a rich girl who dislikes wearing stylish clothes and wants to be a simple girl.
Hebe went out the restroom with a triumphant smile. She saw a juice stand. She was feeling kind of thirsty. She bought a drink. She was looking for her waiting area when she did not notice a guy of her age walking in the same direction, like her not paying attention. Then that’s when it happened. They bumped into each other and Hebe’s drink spilled on the guy’s shirt.
“Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry.” Hebe apologized.
“Damn it! You’re such a klutz!” The guy said then he left.
Hebe stood there shocked of the guy’s actions. No one ever did that to Hebe, NO ONE.
Hebe threw her plastic cup in the nearest trash bin.
“The haughtiest person that I’ve ever met,” Hebe muttered under her breath.
