Chapter 12

Fine morning? Oh Please. (Interview Part 2)

It was a fine morning and everybody was still asleep.

“Good morning, sleepy heads! It’s 5 o’ clock,” shouted Ella. I know… it’s too early.

“Ice cream!” shouted Genie, still in dreamland.

Selina kept her eyes closed and said, “5 more minutes.”

While Hebe, she’s still not awake from her nightmare.

| Nightmare|

There were lots of questionnaires falling along with Hebe. Hebe was screaming loudly.
And then, she was not falling anymore. She was sitting on a chair; there was a table and a light bulb.

“Hebe Tian, it’s time for your tormenting interview,” said a familiar teasing voice across the table.

“Who are you?!” shouted Hebe. She was about to escape when her hands were remained fixed to the chair and she can’t move.

“Mr. Yan,” said the voice and showed his face into the light.

Hebe screamed, “NO!”

|End of nightmare|

“NOOOO!” Hebe screamed as she woke up.

Everyone looked at her in bewilderment.

“What happened to you?!” asked Ella.

Genie was scared. “Why were you screaming?”

“As if you didn’t screamed ‘ice cream’, Genie,” Ella said as she looked at Genie.

Genie grinned.

“It was horrible! The questionnaires! And… And the horrible face!” Hebe was acting crazy.

Selina raised a brow. “What horrible face?”

“Arron’s!” answered Hebe.

They laughed and thought Hebe was crazy.

“You had a nightmare, my dear Hebe,” Selina said teasingly.

Ella grinned. “And it was about Arron’s horrible face.”

“What happened? You guys got married?” Genie said with lots of giggles.

Hebe was pissed. She stood up and got her towel and clothes while the rest of them remained laughing.

“Stupid friends,” mumbled Hebe as she closed the door of the bathroom.

````````````````
At exactly 7 o’ clock, all of the class were already in the lounge.
“Are you alright, my dear Hebe?” asked Selina teasingly.
Ella butted in. “Whooo… What a horrible face?!” She mocked.
Hebe was just ignoring all of them and was cursing them to herself.
Mrs. Yu clapped, getting all the attention, and made everyone stop talking. This made Hebe relieved and, for the first time, she wanted to thank Mrs. Yu.
“Everyone, we’re finishing the rest of this field trip for today and tomorrow you can roam around the city.” That made everyone cheer.
“Yes! Shopping!” Selina said as she flashed her triumphant smile.
Hebe, Genie and Ella groaned, not to mention, Jiro.
“Today we’ll go to this park which the guide knows of and this other temple that the guide knows of…” Mrs. Yu blabbed on about the places that the guide knows of.
“Oh. Before I forget, Hebe and Arron are going to stay here to finish the interview thing,” Mrs. Yu said which made Hebe and Arron surprised and shocked.
“WHAT?!” screamed Hebe and Arron.
“… and Chun and Ella,” added Mrs. Yu and whispered to herself, “Just to make sure.”
“NO WAY!” Chun and Ella reacted.
Calvin, Genie, Selina and Jiro looked at them with different looks. Calvin and Genie had worried looks while Selina and Jiro had sympathetic looks.
Then Mrs. Yu and the rest of the class moved out of the hotel to continue their fieldtrip.
“I can’t believe I’m stuck with you, Mr. Conceited!” whined Hebe as she glared at Arron.
Arron rolled his eyes. “Do you think I’m happy about that? Well… I’m not.”
The atmosphere became unpleasant that gave Chun and Ella goose bumps.
“Okay!” Ella said trying to shake off the horrible feeling.
Hebe and Arron looked at her… it was more of glaring… I think.
Ella gulped before talking. “You two are left behind… with us unfortunately,” She began, trying hard to forget that Chun and her were so unlucky to be the ones left behind.
Hebe raised a brow. “So? What now?”
Ella couldn’t say what she has intended to say with Arron’s and Hebe’s sadistic glares.
Chun saw Ella not able to speak anymore and decided to butt in.
“She wants to say that,” Chun said as he looked at what Ella’s reaction was. “You two are here to continue the interview… not to mock each other.” Ella exhaled deeply as Chun finished the sentence.
“Argh. Fine,” Hebe said giving up. “We’ll have the interview up and running.”
Ella heaved a sigh of relief with what Hebe said and gained the guts to speak up.
“Well… How about we continue the interview at the hotel’s garden? It’s breathtaking there.” Ella grinned, a convincing grin.
“Whatever,” said Arron.
“Whatever means YES!” said Ella musically. She pulled Chun while Arron and Hebe trailed behind them
````````````````
“Okay,” said Hebe as she and Arron sat down the soft grass.

Ella shouted while she and Chun headed for the snack bar, “Hebe! Arron! We’ll be back! We’ll just go to the snack bar!”

Hebe and Arron looked at them. Hebe rolled her eyes and turned her attention to the questionnaires.

“Let’s begin. What---,” Hebe stopped half-way as she noticed Arron looking at the far off distance.

“Hey!” Hebe shouted at Arron’s ears. Arron immediately budged and rubbed his ear.

“You don’t need to shout directly at MY EAR,” Arron said.

Hebe said as she fixed the papers, “You were in some kind of daze.” She handed Arron a pen. “That’s why I shouted at your ear,” she finished with a witty smile.

Arron was looking at the pen and asked, “How’d you know that I forgot my pen?”

“Oh! Did I give you a pen? Sorry, I meant to give these.” Hebe took the pen and replaced it with the questionnaire and flashed a toothy grin at Arron.

Arron was somewhat infuriated but he played a cool act.

“You gave the questionnaire,” said Arron with a smirk. “But… suppose we can’t continue this.”

Hebe raised a brow. She practically didn’t hear correctly what Arron said a while ago.

“Don’t give me that questioning look! We can’t continue because… I don’t have a freaking pen!”

Hebe grinned. “Why didn’t you say so? I still have an extra pen.” She handed Arron one of those girly pens with the heart stuffs and laces and all.

“I’m not using that. Why not I use the one you’re using?” Arron asked. Hebe’s pen was in simple blue. Neither girly nor manly.

“No, I love this pen I won’t ever let someone borrow this… especially you,” Hebe explained.

“Ugh,” Arron whined. “Where’d you get this pen anyways? I know it’s so not your style.”

“Selina,” answered Hebe. Arron understood quickly what she meant.

“We’ve wasted so much time on this freaking pen thingy,” Hebe said. “Let’s start….”

“We’re in the favorites section already,” said Arron with a bored look.

“Oh yeah, forgot that,” Hebe said. “What is your favorite food?”

“Tempura,” said Arron as Hebe wrote that down. “Yours?”

“Tempura,” Hebe answered and she realized that they have the same answer.

But Arron didn’t care. He knows that almost most of the people love Tempura.

“What is your favorite sport?” asked Arron.

Hebe thought for awhile. “I think it would be… I’ll go with Tennis.”

“Mine’s basketball,” Arron answered before Hebe could ask.

He’s really serious now, Hebe thought.

After sometime, they finished the favorites section without any fuss.

“Alright. That went well… I guess,” said Hebe and read the next question.

“What’s your motto in life?” Hebe asked.

“If at first you don’t succeed, failure may be your style,” answered Arron.

Hebe was repeating everything he said as she wrote that down when she realized what he answered and stopped half-way.

“Are you playing a joke?” Hebe asked.

Arron grinned. “Nope.”

“What kind of motto was that?” asked Hebe, irritated.

Arron heaved a sigh and flashed his look at Hebe. “It’s a motto,” he answered coolly.

Hebe rolled her eyes and said, “Fine. I will write that.”

“Your motto?” asked Arron.

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye,” Hebe answered.

Arron heard this saying somewhere but forgot where he heard it. “Okay. Next is… what is love?”

“Love is a strong emotion conveyed through words and actions,” Hebe explained logically.

Arron thought the answer was like a memorized piece from a book or something because it’s definitely not the meaning he knew.

“How about you?” Hebe asked as she looked at Arron.

“Love is a magical sensation that you will feel when… the right one is right in front of you,” He said as he looked at Hebe. He felt something as he said the words ‘the right one’ but he couldn’t simply figure it out.

“Uhmmm… Arron, quit staring. Will you?” asked Hebe and glanced at the paper. “One question left. What would you do if your friends jumped off the bridge?”

Arron smiled. “I would jump off with them.”

Hebe wrote that down and answered, “I would rather catch them.”

“But that would be double-crossing,” Arron said as he pouted.

Hebe looked at him in disbelief. “It’s called ‘friendship. What’s friendship if you join them to jump off?’”

“It’s loyalty,” Arron said.

Hebe couldn’t believe this. “No. If you do it like this, you’re not a real friend to them!”

“Whatever,” said Arron.

“You really need some optimism in your life,” said Hebe.

Arron heard this. “Are you saying that I’m pessimistic?”

“I didn’t not say that!” Hebe argued.

In the distance, Ella and Chun came back from the snack bar. They saw Arron and Hebe arguing again.

“I told you they would fight,” Chun said.

Ella furrowed her brow. “Whatever. Let’s get those two before they burn this place up!”

Ella and Chun ran to them.

“If so, what’s the opposite of optimism?” asked Arron.

“Pessimism,” Hebe answered.

Arron raised hid voice. “See! And you’re telling me that you’re not trying to point that out!”

“But still!” Hebe noticed that their faces were just inches away and so did Arron.

They just stared at each other, shocked.

“Uhmmm… Are you guys done?” asked Ella.

Hebe and Arron snapped out of their trance and answered. “Yes, we’re done.”

“Oh great! You guys want some snacks? Let’s go back to the snack bar!” Ella said and ran off to the snack bar.

Chun, Arron and Hebe stared at her running figure.

“Isn’t she full already?! We like ate 10 doughnuts, 5 drinks and 2 bags of chips EACH!” Chun complained.

“I seriously don’t know if Ella has a pet worm in her stomach or something,” Hebe said.

Arron rolled his eyes. “If I were you guys, I would be following Ella by now. She might spend up all her money and Chun’s.”

“How would she spend my money?” asked Chun.

Arron pointed at Ella at the snack bar. She was at the glass door waving the wallet and sticking out her tongue.

“My wallet!” shouted Chun and ran quickly.

Arron shrugged and followed.

“Hey! Wait for me!” yelled Hebe.

Hi Guys!

Here's the awaited update!

I don't know if it's as funny as I promise... but I think it will do. I thought hard for this chapter. Actually, my mind got blank yesterday so I wasn't able to update this story.

And I am sorry for not updating on Monday or Tuesday.
It was unexpected that I came back from the resort just yesterday. Stupid extensions.

Anyways, hope you liked it.
