“So, as I was saying,” Jiro stopped halfway as he saw his friend not responding to whatever he is blabbing.
“UH, Arron?” He snapped his fingers in front of Arron’s face and that did the trick.
“What?” Arron asked. Obviously, during the time Jiro was doing his story-telling moment.
Jiro turned to look at him and said, “What’s bothering you?” Arron jerked his head up and stopped playing with his pen, twirling it with his fingers.
“Nothing,” he responded in a peculiar impassive voice. Jiro stared straight at his friend. He could clearly see that he has something on. For Jiro, Arron was already transparent to him like a glass window he could see through.
Jiro didn’t tried to have Arron tell him what his problem is. He knows that Arron will tell him in the right time. When he’s ready to do so.
Silence was inevitable as they stared at the far horizon. Footsteps started nearing them and the sound stopped as a voice intruded the silence.
“Arron? Jiro?”
Arron turned to see Hebe together with Rainie. He almost stumbled out of shock. Jiro was in the state of shock too. He didn’t see Danson anywhere. Just Hebe and Rainie.
“What are you guys doing here?” Jiro asked.
Hebe answered, “We practiced at school today. You guys?”
Jiro looked at Arron who just looked back at the setting sun. Rainie observed her dearest cousin. She knew that something is bothering him like Jiro did.
Hebe looked at Arron. She could see that he was quiet. “Hey! What happened to Mr. Conceited?” She asked playfully.
Arron just heaved a heavy sigh and walked away, leaving the three people in surprise especially Hebe who was in disbelief. Never had she seen the guy who she knew of as haughty and prideful not defend himself from her insults.
“Oh,” Rainie suddenly spoke with a smile. “You can go ahead with Jiro if you want to. I need to talk with Arron.” With that, Rainie ran after Arron.
Hebe felt a little jealous of this sudden action and she was oblivious to this.
“UHM. Hebe, I’ll take you home. It seems that they have serious matters to discuss,” Jiro said in a serious tone.

“ARRON!”
Arron stopped and turned around to see Rainie. Disappointment was present in his face. He wanted Hebe to be the one chasing him, not his crazy cousin who wanted to make a triangle a square. So, he turned around and started walking briskly but Rainie was much faster than him. When Rainie accelerated him, she blocked his way and said, “What’s your problem?”
“Do I need to discuss this with you? You’re not mom,” Arron answered blankly.
Rainie looked at him – it was more of a glare. “What happened to Uncle and Auntie?” She raised a brow. “Did they fight again?”
“No,” Arron answered plainly. “Dad has a disease - A fatal disease - He has lung cancer.” Rainie’s arms dropped to her sides and she felt weak. This was also felt by Arron when he received the news. Eventhough Arron’s father was not the ideal father Arron wanted, he is STILL his father. No one can ever change that.
“He wants me back there after this school year ends – for me to prepare for adult’s life and also to mold me as the next CEO of our company,” Arron answered in a serious voice.
Rainie looked down the ground and said, “What about your dream to be an engineer? What about school? What about”- she looked up at him-“Hebe?”
Arron sighed. “There’s nothing I could do. I can’t choose my own path. I better not make her life miserable if she becomes mine,” he answered.
“You better tell her now,” Rainie answered.
Arron looked at her with a smile – a forced smile. “I should make most of my last days as a student before I enter the crazy world of adults.”
Arron walked away, again. Rainie, being weak at this moment from what she heard, sat down the nearest bench she could find.

I know it's short. But I hope it will do.
Not funny chapter. :)
