“Congratulations, baby!” Gerald hugged Kim as soon as she was in front of him.
It was Kim’s graduation. Gerald had graduated the previous year and is now working as a Trainer in one of the biggest call center in the city.
“Thanks baby. I'm so happy that I finally graduated and you and my family are here with me.”
“I'm so proud of you.” Gerald pulled Kim and kissed her. “Let’s go, your dad is waiting for us outside.”
The Chiu’s and Gerald went to a restaurant and shared a special dinner to celebrate Kim’s graduation.
“Gerald, I'm glad you made it to my daughter’s graduation.” Mr. Chiu said while they were eating. “Kim told me you have work today.”
“This is important for Kim so I want to be here to show my support.” He squeezed Kim’s hand. “My mom would’ve been here as well but she has meetings which she can’t cancel.”
“That’s okay. Just tell Tita Vangie thanks for the gift she sent me. And I would’ve totally understood if you weren’t able to come, Ge. I know how busy you are at work.”
“I know that. But I'm here, aren’t I? Anyhow, since you mentioned work already, I have something to tell you.”
“What’s that?”
“You remember my boss, Michael, right? Well when he learned that you’re graduating, he asked me to tell you that if you’re interested to work for the company, we are in need of more trainers.”
Kim’s eyes grew wide. “Seriously?”
“Well, you still have to undergo the normal recruitment process. But I'm not worried. With your credentials, I'm pretty sure you’ll be hired.”
“But don’t you work in the city, Kuya Gerald?” John Paul, Kim’s younger brother asked.
“Yes I do, JP. Why?”
“Then Ate Kim will be away if she works there.” John Paul replied.
“You’re not going to start crying, are you?” Twinkle teased. There was a collective laughter from everyone at the table.
John Paul smirked at his sister. “Of course not! It’s just that I'm going to be the only one left at home with dad. Everyone has moved out of the house and it’s kinda depressing.”
“Don’t worry; if and when I move out of the house, I’ll make sure to come home every weekend so we can spend time together. Makati’s not that far anyway.” Kim assured John Paul. “When are you coming back to work, babe?” she turned to Gerald.
“Tomorrow. I have to be at work very early to catch up on reports I missed today. So I'm going back to my condo after this.”
“Dad, is it okay if I go with Gerald so I can pass my resume and possibly have the interview tomorrow?”
“So soon, Kim?” Mr. Chiu was surprised at Kim’s decision.
“Yes, dad. I thought I’d start working as soon as possible. I’d get bored if I stay idle for long. Why, do you want me to do something else dad?”
Mr. Chiu shook his head. “No. I just assumed you would want to take a break. But if you like to work ASAP, go ahead.”
“Thanks dad. So, are you okay with that, Ge?”
“Absolutely. I just need to drop by my mom’s house before we leave.”
“We better get going then. I still have to pack and I need to call Cathy to tell her I'm going to crash at her place tonight.” Kim said excitedly.
Twinkle turned to Mr. Chiu. “I have to go as well, dad. William, do you mind if I take a ride with you?”
“Sure thing, Ate. How about you Ate Kams?”
“I plan to stay here for the night. I don’t need to be back at work until tomorrow evening. I'm sure our JP here would appreciate the company.”
John Paul stuck out his tongue. Mr. Chiu stood up. “Alright all of you, let’s move.” He turned to his youngest daughter. “Good luck, Kim. I wish you all the best with that job interview.”
Kim chuckled. “Dad, I'm going home with you. I still have to pack, remember? But thanks!”
“Tito William, I’ll go ahead.” Gerald shook Mr. Chiu’s hand. “Ate Kams, Ate Twinkle.” He kissed Kim’s sisters on the cheeks. “William, drive safe. And you, young man.” Gerald ruffled JP’s hair. “See you in a bit.” Gerald whispered to Kim. “Baby, I’ll just pick you up after an hour, is that okay or you need more time?”
Kim nodded. “Yes, I think that will be enough.” She tiptoed and gave him quick peck on the lips. “I’ll see you.”

A few hours later, Kim and Gerald were on their way. Kim was rummaging her bag, looking for something.
“Damn! I think I left my phone.” Kim said.
“Why, do you need to call someone? You can use mine.” Gerald reached for his phone and handed it to Kim.
“Yeah, I forgot to call Cathy.” She started dialing Cathy’s number. To her surprise, Gerald snatched his phone back.
“There’s no need to call her.”
“Baby, I have to or else I have stay in a hotel room tonight.” Kim tried to get his phone but Gerald slid it in his pocket.
“No. You’re not calling Cathy and you’re not staying in a hotel room either.” Kim looked at him suspiciously. “You’re staying with me.”
“But I told my dad that I'm going to Cathy’s house. What if he calls her?”
Gerald grinned. “She already knows what to tell your dad in case he calls her.”
“Are you telling me…?”
Gerald nodded. “Yes, Cathy is our accomplice. So stop worrying about your dad, okay?”
Kim crossed her arms and pouted. “You set me up.”
“Baby, I just want to be with you while I can. We haven’t seen each other much lately with me working in the city and you busy with graduation stuff. I miss you so much.” Gerald reached out for her hand and kissed it.
“Can you please keep your eyes on the road? I want to arrive at your house in one piece.”
“So is that a yes? You will stay with me?” Gerald asked eagerly.
“Gerald Anderson, all you had to do was ask. You didn’t have to go behind my back. Okay?” Kim moved closer to Gerald and leaned on his shoulders as they settled in comfortable silence for the rest of the trip.

Gerald ushered Kim into his room and dropped her bags onto the floor. “So, what do you think?”
Kim looked around. “Not bad, baby. Who knew you have such good taste.” She laughed.
“Hey, I'm with you, aren’t I?”
“Good point.” She snickered.
“So do you want anything? Are you hungry?”
“No, I'm good. I just need to take a quick shower.” Kim started fumbling through her bag.
Gerald took off his shirt and grinned sheepishly. “Can I join you?”
Kim threw a towel at him. “No, you can’t.”
“Why not?” Gerald grimaced. “C’mon baby, I’ve been deprived for God knows how long already.”
“You need to behave, mister.” Kim teased.
Gerald walked over to where Kim was standing and hugged her from behind.
“I missed you.” He kissed Kim’s shoulder going up to her neck. “So much.”
That was all he needed to do to turn her on. She turned around and faced him which he took as an opportunity to lock her lips with his. He pulled her body closer against him as their kiss intensified. Kim responded with much fervor, all thoughts of taking a shower gone. Gerald started unbuttoning Kim’s blouse and took it off her without letting go of their kiss. When they pulled apart to gasp for air, Gerald unzipped her pants which she swiftly took off and afterwards helped strip off his jeans as well.
Gerald carried Kim and slowly lowered her onto his bed before capturing her lips once more. Gerald let go and proceeded kissing throughout her body while his hands were touching her all over. He went back up and kissed her yet again after he finally removed the remaining garments on their bodies. Kim dug her nails on Gerald’s back as he thrust his body against her in a graceful motion, their bodies becoming one. Moans escaped their lips and words of love were said as they reached blissful satisfaction.
“I love you, baby.” Gerald whispered as he kissed Kim and rolled over to his side. Kim closed her eyes as she whispered back “I love you.”
Gerald covered their naked bodies and tugged Kim into a hug. “I told you to behave, didn’t I?” he heard Kim murmur against his chest.
He smiled. “You did? I didn’t hear you say that.” He said, kissing Kim’s forehead. She giggled, pushing herself closer to him as they slowly drifted off to slumber with smile plastered on their faces.
